Come out on December 15 and help us demand and win shelter for Toronto's homeless.
Shortly after OCAP held a memorial for the homeless man who died last week in front of Mayor John Tory's luxury home, his office issued a statement that consisted of a set of shabby evasions and distortions. Here is a response to them. A man died for lack of basic shelter and many other lives are at acute risk on the streets of Toronto. Tory must open shelter space immediately.
If you have info to share on any events John Tory is attending, as he goes about his Mayoral round of ribbon cutting and baby kissing, OCAP wants you to hear from you. We intend to confront the Toronto Mayor at such events in order to hold him accountable for an overwhelmed homeless shelter system that is killing people.
As winter unfolds, Toronto's homeless shelters are bursting at the seams. Mayor John Tory tries to deny this appalling crisis and his role in creating it but he is, as they say in my home town, telling porkies.
A response to Mayor John Tory's effort to deny that he has failed to provide basic shelter for homeless people in Toronto.
Homeless shelters in Toronto are bursting at the seams even as public housing units are boarded up by the hundreds for lack of basic repair. OCAP will soon be announcing plans to bring this travesty home to Mayor John Tory.
The petition calling on Mayor John Tory to open the federal armouries as shelter for Toronto's homeless will be delivered this coming Tuesday. The delegation wi...ll leave at 1.20 PM from site of the monthly Homeless Memorial. This begins at noon at the Church of the Holy Trinity, behind the Eaton Centre. A lunch is also provided. Please get as many signatures on the petition as you can and join us on Tuesday if you are able to.

The City must stop cutting shelter beds in the central core, and open new spaces now! Lives are at stake!
