An awe-inspiring engineering feat, Dubai Palm Islands is definitely the largest artificial islands on earth. These Islands are three man made islands in the form of massive palm trees connected to the beaches of Dubai. The first island is the Palm Jumeirah, Jebel Ali Palm second and the third is the Palm Deira which is the biggest of them all. This artificial archipelago located off the coastline of United Arab Emirates in Persian Gulf.
Dubai islands project was commissioned by Sheikh Mohammed in an effort to maximize beachfront property. Dubai's palm tree-shaped resort island on land built from the sea will contribute 120 km of beaches. Aside from the construction of the ambitious expansion, there is also the problem of constructing a mini city, which consists of 4,500 high-end residential homes, miles of roads, luxurious hotels and many amenities that will require basic human resources including electricity, safe drinking water and many more. This enormous project will position Dubai as one of the top tourist destinations in the world.
I will tell you why these islands have appeared and that they must satisfy. Dubai is an emirate that open sea about 50 km (an estimate) and the sites required for building projects are on the beach. To view course and especially to "park" in front of the yacht's property or even assembly.
Well when the beach was not available, and demand persists, the beach had invented. And it appeared artificial islands. Hence so sophisticated forms of the islands: they had to provide a larger opening to the ocean.

Where is the dream of similar islands: In Lebanon, wants to build a cedar shaped islands, the symbol of this country. Russia wants to try an island / an archipelago in Black in Sochi at the 2014 Olympics, at least that is speaking through the past years. Also in Japan there are several large airports built on artificial islands.
The Palm Islands are artificial peninsulas constructed of sand dredged from the bottom of the Persian Gulf by the Belgian company Jan De Nul and the Dutch company Van Oord.
The sand is sprayed by the dredging ships, which are guided by DGPS, onto the required area in a process known as rain-bowing because of the arcs in the air when the sand is sprayed. The outer edge of each Palm's encircling crescent is a large rock breakwater. The breakwater of the Palm Jumeirah has over seven million tons of rock.

The islands were designed as part of the plan to develop tourism in Dubai against the eventual depletion of the emirate's oil reserves, which are expected to be depleted in the second decade of the 21st century. The goal is to become one of the biggest areas in the world for tourism as a means of diversifying the economy.
Two of the islands—The Palm, Jumeirah, and The Palm, Deira—will be built by the Dutch company Van Oord Dredging from 80,000,000 m³ of sea bottom dredged from the approach channel. The Palm, Jebel Ali is being built by Jan De Nul.

The original idea for the Palm Islands consisted of only one island to draw more tourists into the country. At first it seemed like an incredible feat, but as the plans developed, the project resembled more of a success and less of a fledgling blueprint. Though Jumeirah Palm Island in Dubai is the smallest of all the artificial islands, it holds plenty of big-time appeal. Each island enjoys its own unique theme. Palm Jumeirah is featured as a residential living area, a relaxing retreat and also a leisure destination for UAE vacations. The entire island will entail three kinds of deluxe villas, boutique hotels with special themes and abundant coastline residences. With construction first started in 2001, Jumeirah Palm Island is well on its way to becoming another incredibly successful venture in Dubai.
At the central core of Jumeirah is the trunk, completing the entire palm-shaped marvel. The trunk is a dynamic, two-kilometer expanse brimming with living areas, retail facilities, tourist attractions and plenty of upscale amenities. The Gateway and the Monorail connect Palm Jumeirah to mainland Dubai where a wealth of other things to do await tourists. Luxurious residences, Dubai hotels, dining establishments and marinas are all located along the trunk of Jumeirah. The fronds, or palm leaves, of Jumeirah Palm Island in Dubai will maintain the main resident town homes and villas. Modern beachfront homes will be the feature in the resident area surrounded by breathtaking views and convenient access to the Monorail and the Sea Tunnel for transportation to the mainland. The Sea Tunnel is an extraordinary means of getting around Palm Jumeirah. It connects the crescent to the main part of the island.

Dubai islands project was commissioned by Sheikh Mohammed in an effort to maximize beachfront property. Dubai's palm tree-shaped resort island on land built from the sea will contribute 120 km of beaches. Aside from the construction of the ambitious expansion, there is also the problem of constructing a mini city, which consists of 4,500 high-end residential homes, miles of roads, luxurious hotels and many amenities that will require basic human resources including electricity, safe drinking water and many more. This enormous project will position Dubai as one of the top tourist destinations in the world.
I will tell you why these islands have appeared and that they must satisfy. Dubai is an emirate that open sea about 50 km (an estimate) and the sites required for building projects are on the beach. To view course and especially to "park" in front of the yacht's property or even assembly.

The Palm Islands are an artificial archipelago (islands) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Major commercial and residential infrastructures will be constructed by Nakheel Properties, a property developer in The UAE. The Belgian and Dutch dredging and marine contractors, Jan De Nul and Van Oord, some of the world's specialists in land reclamation, were hired to complete construction. The islands are the Palm Jumeirah, the Palm Jebel Ali and the Palm Deira.
Each settlement will be in the shape of a palm tree, topped with a crescent. The settlements will have a large number of residential, leisure and entertainment centers. The Palm Islands are located off the coast of The UAE in the Persian Gulf and will add 520 kilometers of beaches to the city of Dubai.
The first two islands will comprise of approximately 100 million cubic meters of rock and sand. The Palm Deira will be composed of approximately one billion cubic meters of rock and sand. All materials will be quarried in The UAE. At first it seemed like an incredible feat, but as the plans developed, the project resembled more of a success and less of a fledgling blueprint. Though Jumeirah Palm Island in Dubai is the smallest of all the artificial islands, it holds plenty of big-time appeal. Each island enjoys its own unique theme. Palm Jumeirah is featured as a residential living area, a relaxing retreat and also a leisure destination for UAE vacations. The entire island will entail three kinds of deluxe villas, boutique hotels with special themes and abundant coastline residences. With construction first started in 2001, Jumeirah Palm Island is well on its way to becoming another incredibly successful venture in Dubai.
At the central core of Jumeirah is the trunk, completing the entire palm-shaped marvel. The trunk is a dynamic, two-kilometer expanse brimming with living areas, retail facilities, tourist attractions and plenty of upscale amenities. The Gateway and the Monorail connect Palm Jumeirah to mainland Dubai where a wealth of other things to do await tourists. Luxurious residences, Dubai hotels, dining establishments and marinas are all located along the trunk of Jumeirah. Atlantis, The Palm is a hotel resort located at the top of the Palm Jumeira an artificial island The Palm. It was the first resort to be built on the island and is themed on the myth of Atlantis but includes distinct Arabian elements. The resort opened on September 24, 2008.
The resort has two accommodation wings, also referred to as the Royal Towers, consisting of the East and the West Tower, both linked together by the Royal Bridge Suite. The resort's comprises 1,500 guestrooms and suites with private balconies and views over The Palm and the Persian Gulf. The Imperial Club has over 150 rooms and suites and two private club lounges, one in the 12th floor of the East Tower with views of the Arabian Sea and Aquaventure water park and one on the ground floor of the West Tower with an outside terrace.
The Royal Bridge Suite, spanning the Royal Towers, is 22 stories up with views of The Palm, Dubai and the Persian Gulf. The two Underwater Suites are each three stories high with the illusion of view directly into the Ambassador Lagoon.
The 46 ha (110 acres) five-star resort includes attractions for children and adults. The main attraction is a 17 ha (42 acres) water park with twelve water slides and a 2.3-kilometre river ride with cascades, tidal waves and rapids. There are two Mesopotamian-styled ziggurat temples reaching over 30 metres into the sky and featuring water slides two of which catapult riders in clear tubes through a shark filled lagoon. The Lost Chambers is an aquarium exhibit with over 65,000 fish and sea creatures including the Ambassador Lagoon, which is an 11-million litre marine habitat. The lagoon can be viewed at the base of the East Tower through a ten metre long, seventy centimetre thick viewing panel which looks into a representation of the ruins of Atlantis.
Across the Aquaventure water park is Dolphin Bay, a 4.5 hectare dolphin education and conservation centre.
The resort has a stretch of beach facing the Dubai skyline. The beach has over 700 sun beds.
There is 1,900 m2 (20,000 sq ft) of retail space, including clothing and jewellery. Tiffany has a shop in the Avenues. Prices reflect the position and footfall.
There is a spa and fitness centre, meeting rooms, and function spaces.
