Do you want to see how to optimize your linked in profile to get the maximum number of people finding you for potential jobs and opportunities for you to make money and improve your professional network?
I'm going to show you right now what I just learned from an awesome training Liz M.
Lopez just did on LinkedIn.
I just went to this live with her and she shared what worked for her on her profile and I'm going to show you live as I edit my profile to implement what she recommended in order for me to get the best results on LinkedIn. And in showing you this I hope you can see what you can do to edit your LinkedIn
Profile to get the most people to find you.
The primary value of what I'm sharing with you is getting people on LinkedIn that are searching things like, say, "
Digital Marketing Specialist." What happens on LinkedIn is people look for exact titles and skills that people have and then they contact them and either ask for help, offer a job, or offer a speaker opportunity. That's the power of LinkedIn and with over
300 million people on LinkedIn that's something that you and me want to capitalize on.
I've been struggling for years on LinkedIn to get my profile right. I've made some changes that have been good and I've made some changed that have been bad. I'm going to show you now as I edit my profile to make better changes to it based on what's already working for other people.
The idea is I want more people viewing my profile. I want more people contacting and engaging with me and I want more people building a relationship with me over time through LinkedIn and more directly on my website, etc.
So what I've got right now is I've got a complete profile in a sense of you can see I've got everything done on the profile in terms of adding things to the profile. I've added my previous jobs, I set up a company page, I filled out all my basic details and a lot of how I've done it is how most people have done it.
There's a few small changes I can make that would greatly increase my effectiveness on my profile based on what Liz has already verified and knows what works for her, but written in a language that works for me.
Let's get started.
The first part of this begins with editing the profile of course. and the number one thing Liz pointed out was important and that I can see is clearly important is the professional headline. When people go to search on LinkedIn, they search by headline. The problem is what I've done with my headline now and often in the past I would put things like
CEO, VP, whatever, Founder, etc. I would put professional titles. But when people are searching for people to help them with opportunities they are often not looking as much for CEO of JerryBanfield.com Who's going to search for that?
What they are looking for might be more like
Facebook Ads Campaign Manager. Let's take a look for Facebook Ads Campaign Manager and you can see the results on this are a lot more detailed and that's how people search on LinkedIn.
You can see if you've got it in your professional title. This is where you'd show up in search results. And you can see there's not anyone on the first page that says specifically they're a
Facebook Ad Campaign Manager. But that's what someone might look for. They might look for someone that is a Facebook Campaign Manager. So what I want to do is put in there, just like Liz has on her profile.
Liz has what people might would for. So if you search for resume writing, Liz has that in her headline. So if I am looking for resume writing up here, then the idea is I'm looking for a very specific person to help me. So someone like Liz I would guess would be somewhere in my search results. So you can see these people have titles: executive resume writer, resume writing services.
And I can even say LinkedIn profile writer.
Now look how specific of a search that is.
Karen shows up first here LinkedIn Profile
Optimizer. So you can see what she's offering to do matches and is found right in her headline. And This is even more incredible: exact match LinkedIn profile1 writer with an exact dollar figure and website and phone number. Now that's impressive So what I want to do is add that into my value.
