Quotes:
Ryan: Friends don't let friends talk to exes drunk.
Mary: Scott! We have a contract.::Ryan: Don't make me put a Breathalyzer on that phone.
Leslie: I can't say I love being called Les.::Mary: I know what you're saying there. I can't stand it when people call me Mar. It's, like, what am I? Am I a horse? Am I some kind of horse? Like a pony?
Scott: You guys are shit-faced.::Ryan: [drunk] How dare... you.::Mary: That is silly. I am sober as a fucking judge.
Mary: God damn it, Scott! No one wants to see it work out between you and Leslie more than Ryan and I. You are screwing it up!::Scott: What am I screwing up?::Ryan: You asked her to move in after two dates.::Mary: Two!::Ryan: Come on, man! Couldn't scare her away any faster if you told her if you were a Nazi sympathizer who's into fondling puppy balls!::Mary: Or a chronic masturbater!
[Mary grabs Ryan's groin]::Scott: Mary, come on!::Mary: Come on, what? Want me to act like it's no big deal that my man's at half-mast? It is a big deal!::Scott: We're just having some guy time, all right? He'll just keep it in his pants.::Ryan: [high-pitch voice] Uh-huh.::Scott: I promise.::Ryan: And, um, if it's any consolation as you can see, I am completely flaccid now.::Scott: We all are, Ryan. We all are.
Mary: [referring to Bar Patron] You have to get rid of him. He is trying to get into my pants!::Scott: So? He's not going to. It's not like you're tempted to sleep with him or anything.::Mary: I'm tempted to fuck his brains out. I'd fuck him, I fuck that guy, I'd fuck the guy doing air-guitaring back there. I can fuck everybody I can see right now 'cause I just want the chance to be with somebody else. This is the reason I cannot be trusted without Ryan around me at all times. Just once I want to be with another guy without Ryan in the room. Can you understand that? I'm sick of fucking the same person over and over and over and over again!

Plot: Shakespeare's intertwined love polygons begin to get complicated from the start--Demetrius and Lysander both want Hermia but she only has eyes for Lysander. Bad news is, Hermia's father wants Demetrius for a son-in-law. On the outside is Helena, whose unreturned love burns hot for Demetrius. Hermia and Lysander plan to flee from the city under cover of darkness but are pursued by an enraged Demetrius (who is himself pursued by an enraptured Helena). In the forest, unbeknownst to the mortals, Oberon and Titania (King and Queen of the faeries) are having a spat over a servant boy. The plot twists up when Oberon's head mischief-maker, Puck, runs loose with a flower which causes people to fall in love with the first thing they see upon waking. Throw in a group of labourers preparing a play for the Duke's wedding (one of whom is given a donkey's head and Titania for a lover by Puck) and the complications become fantastically funny.

Taglines: Hold on to Your Heart. Cupid is Armed and Dangerous. Love makes fools of us all. Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind; and therefore is winged Cupid painted blind. Get to the Bottom of Love
Quotes:
[Last lines]::Puck: If we shadows have offended, / Think but this, and all is mended, / That you have but slumber'd here / While these visions did appear. / And this weak and idle theme, / No more yielding but a dream, / Gentles, do not reprehend: / If you pardon we will mend. / Else the Puck a liar call. / Give me your hands, if we be friends, / And Robin shall restore amends.
Titania: Come, my lord, and in our flight / Tell me how it came this night / That I sleeping here was found / With these mortals on the ground.
Theseus: The iron tongue of midnight hath told twelve: Lovers, to bed; 'tis almost fairy time.::Oberon: Now, until the break of day / Through this house each fairy stray. / To the best bride-bed will we, / Which by us shall blessed be; / So shall all the couples three / Ever true in loving be; / And the owner of it blest / Ever shall in safety rest. / Trip awa; make no stay; / Meet me all by break of day.
[repeated line]::Helena: Oh, spite, oh hell.
Helena: I am your spaniel. And Demetrius, the more you beat me, I will fawn on you. Use me - but as your spaniel. Spurn me, strike me, neglect me, lose me, but give me leave, unworthy as I am, to follow you.
Tom Snout: [Puck has turned Bottom into a donkey] Bottom, thou art changed. What do I see on thee?::Bottom the Weaver: What do you see? What; do you see an ass' head of your own, do you?::Peter Quince: [backing away] Bless me. Thou art translated.::[all run off, leaving Bottom alone on the stage]::Bottom the Weaver: Why do they run away? I see their knavery. This is to make an ass of me.
Bottom the Weaver: I have had a most rare vision / I have had a dream / Past the wit of man to say what dream it was. / Man is but an ass if he go about to expound this dream. / Methought I was... / There's no man can tell what. / Methought I was... / Methought I had... / Man is but a patched fool if he will offer to say what I had.
Bottom the Weaver: The eye of man hath not heard, the ear of man hath not seen; Man's hand is not able to taste, his tongue to conceive, nor his heart to report what my dream was.
Theseus: [Reveiewing possible plays to be presented] "Battle with the Centaurs," to be sung by an Athenian eunuch to the harp. We'll none of that.
Theseus: Merry and tragical? Tedious and brief? That is hot ice and wonderous strange snow.
