Gareth Paul Gates (born 12 July 1984, Bradford, England) is an English singer-songwriter. He was the runner-up in the first series of the ITV 'talent show' Pop Idol. Gates has sold over 3.5 million records in the UK. He is also known for having a stutter, and has talked about his speech impediment publicly. Gates used the McGuire Programme to manage the problem and is now a speech coach with the programme.

In 2009, Gates moved into musical theatre, playing the title role in the West End production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat at the Adelphi Theatre. In 2009–2011, Gates completed an eighteen-month stint as Marius, initially in the touring production and then in the West End production of Les Misérables. He also took the roles of Eddie in the musical Loserville, Warner in Legally Blonde in 2012 and Dean in Boogie Nights the Musical in Concert in 2013. He is now part of the pop group 5th Story, set up for The Big Reunion.

Say It Isn't So is a 2001 American romantic comedy film directed by J.B. Rogers, written by Peter Gaulke and Gerry Swallow, and starring Chris Klein and Heather Graham as two young lovers who come to believe that they are actually siblings.

The film was both a critical and commercial failure, grossing a little over $12 million on a $25 million budget.

Plot

The film begins with Gilly Noble (Chris Klein) taking a stray cat named "Ringo" to the animal shelter where he works in Shelbyville, Indiana. Gilly gets his hair cut by a beautiful young aspiring hairdresser named Jo Wingfield (Heather Graham). As Jo cuts Gilly's hair, she mentions that she recently lost a tail-less cat named Ringo, leading Gilly to tell her that Ringo is at the pound. The excitement causes Jo to accidentally cuts off a part of Gilly's ear, and he is rushed to the hospital where the ear is reattached. To make up for the incident, Jo invites Gilly to her house for lunch the next day, where Gilly meets Jo's self-centered mother, Valdine (Sally Field), and stroke-suffering father, Walter (Richard Jenkins).

"Say It Isn't So" is a song by American rock band Bon Jovi. It was released in July 2000 as the second single off their Grammy nominated album Crush. It is unique in that David Bryan plays the solo of the song instead of Richie Sambora. Sambora performed vocals for this song along with Jon Bon Jovi.

The music video was directed by Wayne Ishamn and features Claudia Schiffer, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilio Estevez, and Matt LeBlanc.
