Captain Sensible (born Raymond Burns, 24 April 1954) is a singer, songwriter, guitarist (and sometimes bassist) who grew up in Croydon, England, and co-founded the punk rock band The Damned in 1976. After leaving the band, he reinvented himself as an alternative pop singer with a rebellious, self-conscious image. His signature headwear is a red beret.
He was born Raymond Ian Burns in Balham, London in 1954 . He went to Stanley Technical School for Boys in South Norwood.
Originally a member of the Johnny Moped band, Sensible joined The Damned in 1976 on the suggestion of his work colleague Rat Scabies, the band's drummer, filling a number of positions during his tenure (including bassist, lead guitarist and keyboardist), and eventually becoming the band's main songwriter following the departure of Brian James. He left in the 1980s to concentrate on solo projects, but rejoined in 1996 after Scabies left, and co-wrote Grave Disorder, the band's first new studio album for 8 years, in 2001. He continues to tour with the band today and they released their latest album So, Who's Paranoid? on 17 November 2008.
Captain Jack Sparrow is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the Pirates of the Caribbean film series created by screenwriters Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, portrayed by Johnny Depp. He is first introduced in the film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003). He later appears in the sequels Dead Man's Chest (2006), At World's End (2007), and On Stranger Tides (2011). Jack Sparrow was originally conceived as a supporting character. He was brought to life by the actor Johnny Depp, who based his characterization on The Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards and cartoon character Pepé Le Pew. He tends to become rather frustrated whenever someone pronounces his name without the term "Captain".
The series Pirates of the Caribbean was inspired by a Disney theme park ride, and in 2006, when the ride was revamped, the character of Jack Sparrow was introduced to it. Jack Sparrow is also the subject of a children's book series, Pirates of the Caribbean: Jack Sparrow, which chronicles his teenage years and the character has also appeared in numerous video games.
Darby Crash: I love those who do not know how to live, except in perishing, for they are those that go beyond. I love the great despiser's, because they are the great adorers. They are arrows longing for the other shore. I love those who do not seek beyond the stars for a reason to parish and be sacrifice; but who sacrifice themselves to earth in order that earth may some day become... supermans. Tell me, my brothorin, if the goal be lacking to humanity is not humanity itself lacking; it is time for man to mark his goal. It is time for man to plant his germ of his highest hope.
Darby Crash: Everything works in circles. Like sometimes you're doing something, and a year later you're back at the same point. You understand that? So circle one, is what we're doing now, and someday we'll probably do circle two.
Darby Crash: I just made Robby the drummer for The Germs.::Pat Smear: We can't play with Rob.::Darby Crash: I know.::Pat Smear: Oh, so you're not just killing yourself, you're killing our band. Darby, The Germs are the only thing any of us have really cared about...::Darby Crash: The Germs are dead, Pat. And you know that.
When I woke up this morning I was feelin' fine
But this cat starts banging man what a swine.
So I called reception but to no avail
That's why I'm telling you this sorry tale.
I went bang - I said shut up,
I went bang - I said rap up.
Well I'm aware that the guy must do his work
But the piledriver man drove me berserk.
He said captain, I said wot,
He said captain, I said wot,
He said captain, I said wot,
He said captain, I said wot d'ya want
Once a lifetime, twice a day
If you don't work you get no pay.
I been to the east, I been to the west,
But the girls I like best are the ones undressed.
Well, hello Adam, where you been?
I said a'stand aside 'cause I'm feelin' mean,
I've had a gutful of you and I'm feelin' bad
'Cause you're an ugly old pirate and ain't I glad.
He said captain, I said wot, ...
We've been crying now for much to long
Now we're gonna dance to a different song
Gonna scream and shout to my dying breath
Gonna smash it up 'til there's nothing left
Uuh, Smash it up
Smash it up, smash it up
People call me villain it's such a shame
Maybe it's my clothes must be to blame
I don't even care if I look a mess
Don't want to be a sucker like all the rest
Uuh, Smash it up
Smash it up, smash it up
Many years ago
More than I can say
'Cause I wasn't there
It was yesterday
Statues have their fun
People have their day
And history comes and goes
It's time for us to play
(CHORUS)
And there's a turkey in the wings
He doesn't dance and he can't sing
Christmas to Christmas
One Christmas catalog too many
Christmas to Christmas
One Christmas catalog for you
Every plane can fly
Ships take to the sea
Baby you and I
We are you and me
All the nuts and breaks
Through the mists of time
And even at this point
Are really quite sublime
(CHORUS)
Is it Christmas
Christmas
Is it Christmas
Christmas
Is it Christmas
Christmas
Certain summer trips
Day turns into night
'Til we squeeze the pips
Let's just leave the lights
And outside it's cool
Here it's fresh and bright
Whyn't you take my arm
Let's get out of sight
(CHORUS)
[2x]
Is it Christmas
Christmas
Is it Christmas
Christmas
Is it Christmas
Christmas
Submarines in the harbour
incognito
Submarines of your dreams
not mine
The red red sky
must take the price
For giving to the people
who never never go to war
We´re glad it´s all over
We´re glad it´s all over
We´re glad it´s all over
We´re glad it´s all over
Hidden tunnels
secret items
guarded fences
Planet earth
testing ground
right now
The blue blue moon
knows that soon
We´ll be searching for the people
who never never went to war
We´re glad it´s all over
We´re glad it´s all over
The red red sky
must take the price
The red red sky
is giving to the people
who never never go to war
We´re glad it´s all over
We´re glad it´s all over
I attended Stanley Tech
in South Norwood Hill
I think it was, oh yeah
where the bronze bust was nicked
let me think, it must've been in my third year
lying in wait outside Virgo Fidelis
and the Lady Edridge Grammar School
I worked at the Fairfield Halls
cleaning toilets, but I understood some day
I'd be back in my own right
giving concerts in my own peculiar way
but I kept my rabbit back at home
and I cleaned it every other day
(other day, other day, other day)
and now the time has come to say
farewell Dad with your sardines
and the TV set that I blew
and now the time has come to say
farewell Mum to your baked beans
and the poppadums I never knew
I'll be in Los Angeles
where the famous people never quite get old
yeah, in Los Angeles
where they're all to rich to even feel the cold
but I'll still be dreaming of you Croydon
especially in the cold and rain
(cold and rain, cold and rain, cold and rain)
and now the time has come to say
I'll be leaving Croydon way
to the lovely town I once knew
and now the time has come to say
I'll be back another day
saying sod LA, what a day
what a day
what a day
what a day
Many years ago
More than I can say
'Cause I wasn't there
It was yesterday
Statues have their fun
People have their day
And history comes and goes
It's time for us to play

Happy talkin', talkin Happy talk
Talk about things you'd like to do
You've got to have a dream
If you don't have a dream
How you gonna have a dream come true
Talk about the moon floating in the sky
Looking like a lily on a lake
Talk about the bird learning how to fly
Making all the music he can make
Happy talkin' talkin Happy talk
Talk about things you'd like to do
You've got to have a dream
If you don't have a dream
How you gonna have a dream come true
Let's talk about the star looking like a toy
Peeking through the branches of a tree
Talk about the girl talk about the boy
Counting all the ripples on the sea
Happy talkin' talkin Happy talk
Talk about things you'd like to do
You've got to have a dream
If you don't have a dream
How you gonna make a dream come true
Talk about the boy saying to the girl
Golly baby I'm a lucky cus
Talk about the girl saying to the boy
You and me are lucky to be us
Happy talkin' talkin Happy talk
Talk about things you'd like to do
You've got to have a dream
If you don't have a dream
How you gonna make a dream come true
And if you don't talk happy
And you never have a dream
