Anders Behring Breivik wants Medal & Freedom
Anders Behring Breivik told an Oslo court that his decision last year to kill 77 people was guided by his conviction that the victims were "traitors" who needed to be wiped out to protect Norway. In his first televised appearance since the July 22 attacks against members of Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg's Labor Party, Breivik said he thought he deserved a medal for perpetrating Norway's worst mass homicide since World War II. The Oslo District Court extended custody of the 32-year-old by 10 weeks until the trial starts on April 16, Judge Wenche Gjelsten said today. Breivik, wearing a dark suit and blue tie, entered the court room handcuffed and raised his arm in a gesture his attorney, Geir Lippestad, described as "a type of right-wing extremist salute." The cameras were cut off as the hearing started. "I acknowledge the acts but I plead not guilty," Breivik told the court. "Attacks on the government headquarters were preemptive attacks on traitors committing or about to commit" crimes against the Norwegian people, he said. Anders Breivik: One cannot allow one's country to be colonised by Muslims
In Support of Geir Lippestad, Attorney for Anders Behring Breivik: Excerpt of Statement by Breivik, via Judge Kim Heger: "The operation was not about killing as many as possible, but to provide a significant signal that simply could not be misunderstood [because] as long as the Labour party maintains their ideological line of politics, whereby they deconstruct Norwegian culture and 'mass-import' Muslims, they must be held accountable for treason. One cannot allow one's country to be colonised by Muslims."www.facebook.com

He attempts to address the court during a court hearing to extend his solitary incarceration before trial. An Oslo court ruled on Monday that Anders Behring Breivik, who admits to killing 77 people in a mass shooting and bombing, must remain in pre-trial detention for eight weeks. Four of them are to be spent in solitary confinement. After the behind closed doors hearing, Breivik's lawyer Geir Lippestad said his client had wanted to give a speech to the court, but was not allowed to do so. Lippestad said Breivik had argued against an extension of his isolation, which he described as "torture." [Geir Lippestad, Defense Attorney]: "It is difficult to be in solitary. That is of course in its nature." He also said his client had shown no signs of regret for his actions, but was prevented from elaborating. Breivik, who has admitted killing 77 people on July 22, will remain in solitary confinement for four more weeks, the judge ordered in a ruling backing the request of prosecutors. The judge said Breivik would stay isolated in prison because of concerns that evidence could be tampered with and to hinder Breivik from communicating with potential accomplices, whose existence the police need to investigate further.

Anders Breivik "I Am a Military Commander In The Norwegian Resistance Movement"
Norway gun and bomb killer Anders Breivik refuses to plead guilty to massacre by Damien Fletcher, Daily Mirror 15/11/2011 NORWEGIAN mass killer Anders Breivik appeared in open court for the first time yesterday. The right-wing extremist killed 77 people in Oslo and at a political youth camp on the island of Utoya on July 22. Breivik, 32, acknowledged the massacre but refused to plead guilty in a court just two blocks away from where he set off a home-made bomb. He also rejected the court's authority to try his case because "it supports multiculturalism". Breivik said: "I am a military commander in the Norwegian resistance movement and Knights Templar Norway. "I acknowledge the acts but I do not plead guilty." Three previous hearings were held in private but defence lawyer Geir Lippestad said his client wanted public hearings. Breivik tried to address survivors and victims' relatives but the court denied his request. He was remanded in custody, where he is likely to stay until his trial in the early part of next year. Tim Viskjer, who survived the shooting, said: "I thought he seemed cold and inhuman." The Oslo court was filled with 120 onlookers and hundreds more watched via a video link.
