The Maine Coon cat is among the most brilliant animals on Earth! The rumor is that that they sailed upon a ship from Europe and landed in Maine. Many people believe that they are mix-bred with a raccoon and/or a Canadian Lynx. The Canadian Lynx is the northern version of the bobcat but has a cooler tail! Also known as the "gentle giant," the Maine Coon is very dog-like in nature. Maine Coons chirp more than they meow. They're very vocal animals and will accompany you throughout your day. I've lived with many cats throughout my life but the Maine Coon is definitely the most unique. Sean Coonery my Maine Coon never ceases to amaze me! A Maine Coon does not live with you, *YOU* live with the Maine Coon! It's a great experience but be prepared to always feel inferior! What do Maine Coon cats do?
They sleep a lot, like most cats, but have a personality a lot like dogs. Maine Coon's tend to follow you around, chatting a lot, and often being very attentive to what you are doing.
Some Maine Coon cats have been known to play fetch with their owners using small toys. Maine Coon's are very affectionate and often become devoted companions.
Maine Coon cats are very large and heavy, with a weather-resistant coat.
Main coon kittens and cats are a breed that many believe were brought to the US centuries before Columbus discovered America.
They were possibly brought to Maine by the Vikings.
In cold weather, the Maine Coon grows a heavy coat with a particularly large neck ruff and bushy tail.
In warmer weather, the coat looks almost like that of a shorthaired breed.
The Maine Coon head is fairly square with tall ears, the neck very broad, and the whole cat is muscular and powerful.
The Maine Coon comes in all colours with the exception of Himalayan pattern, Chocolate or Lilac, with tabbies being the most popular types.
A tabby Maine Coon can give the impression of being an entirely wild looking cat.
The Maine Coon can reach an adult weight of up to 25lb (11.34Kg)

A couple of years ago we surprised Sam's parents by getting them a Maine Coon cat. The first time we ever encountered one of these giant cats was at a cat cafe in Seoul, Korea. We soon visited a few more cat cafes around the world and it was with further encounters we fell in love with this gentle giant breed.
The following is a video of our one and a half year old Maine Coon who has many names but officially is called Hobie. You'll find shots of him playing, jumping, splashing, running, chasing, climbing, scratching, eating and a whole lot more. This cat is full of personality and it won't take long for you to realize why we think he's equally parts mischievous and adorable.
In terms of facts about the Maine coon gato enjoy the following:
The Maine Coon is the largest domesticated breed of cat and you'll notice in terms of its physical appearance large pointed ears, long whiskers, silky flowing coat and massive paws. These cats typically have a playful personality and are intelligent often being compared to dogs in terms of certain habits such as fetching and enjoying water. They're most similar in terms of appearance and size to the Norwegian Forest Cat.

Maine Coon Cat: Meet Hobie Video Transcript:
Meet Hobie the Maine Coon Cat, also known as Hobster the Lobster. Hobie is Sam's red-headed brother, and he's been causing mischief ever since he joined his human family. He may look cute, but this one is a troublemaker, though a lovable one at that.
Hobie has a fascination with water and if there's a dripping tap or a bathtub being filled, he'll be the first one at the scene. He loves drinking water from the tub, and if someone were to forget the toilet lid up, he'd likely climb in there too.
Playing with bubbles is another pastime for this cheeky little Maine Coon. He'll paw at the water while the tub fills, and then once bubbles start to form, he'll watch in amazement and then try to paw those too. He'll lean in as far in as he can without falling into the water, though I have a feeling he would enjoy a swim if he ever were to tumble in.
Once bath time is over, Hobie will wait for his human to leave behind a wet towel and then he'll crawl under it. Like I said, he's a strange one.
When he isn't playing with water, Hobie enjoys grooming time.
Oh, and scratching furniture as well. Especially if the piece happens to be an antique.
This lovable Maine Coon kitty is always up for play time. He enjoys chasing a laser across the couches in the living room, and he could easily spend a half hour running back and forth if it weren't for the fact that his humans get tired. Sometimes, however, his balance is a little off. There he goes...
Aside from laser tag, he also enjoys playing with 'Specie-Bird'. He likes to catch a mouthful of feathers, but not when the camera is rolling. That's when he decides to sit down and just stare at you.
Another game he enjoys is playing tag with Sam. Hobie will chase Sam down the halls, and then the two trade places, and Sam chases him down instead. It must be pretty scary having a red-headed giant chase you down the halls, but since Hobie runs faster than Sam, he has nothing to worry about.
Now this is where Hobie shows of his acrobatic skills. If running weren't impressive enough, he also enjoys leaping. And I'm not talking about leaping on furniture; he'll jump onto the kitchen counters, then onto the fridge, and then sit himself atop the cupboards.
And after all that, he'll take a minute to enjoy his own lunch. Bon appetit, kitty!
Of course, Hobie is still a young kitten, so after all that activity, he needs a siesta. If all his running around has tired you out, this is when you can enjoy a nap! Quick, before he wakes up.
Cuddles are still a work in progress for Hobie the Maine Coon, but regardless of that, he's a keeper!

i/ˈmeɪn/; French: État du Maine) is a state in New England, in the United States. Maine is the 39th most extensive and the 42nd most populous of the 50 U.S. states. It is bordered by New Hampshire to the west, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Quebec to the east and north, respectively. Maine is the northernmost state in the contiguous United States east of the Great Lakes. It is known for its jagged, rocky coastline; low, rolling mountains; heavily forested interior, and picturesque waterways; and also its seafood cuisine, especially lobster and clams. In spite of its maritime position, it has a continental climate even in coastal areas such as its largest city, Portland. The first English settlement in Maine, the short-lived Popham Colony, was established by the Plymouth Company in 1607. USS Maine (ACR-1)
USS Maine (ACR-1), commissioned in 1895, was the first United States Navy ship to be named after the state of Maine. Originally classified as an armored cruiser, she was built in response to the Brazilian battleship Riachuelo and the increase of naval forces in Latin America. Maine and her near-sister ship Texas reflected the latest European naval developments, with the layout of her main armament resembling that of the British ironclad Inflexible and comparable Italian ships. Her two gun turrets were staggered en échelon, rather than on the centerline, with the fore gun sponsoned out on the starboard side of the ship and the aft gun on the port side, with cutaways in the superstructure to allow both to fire ahead, astern or across her deck. She dispensed with full masts thanks to the increased reliability of steam engines by the time of her construction.
Despite these advances, Maine was out of date by the time she entered service, due to her protracted construction period and changes in the role of ships of her type, naval tactics and technology. The general use of steel in warship construction precluded the use of ramming without danger to the attacking vessel. The potential for blast damage from firing end on or cross-deck discouraged en échelon gun placement. The changing role of the armored cruiser from a small, heavily armored substitute for the battleship to a fast, lightly armored commerce raider also hastened her obsolescence. Despite these disadvantages, Maine was seen as an advance in American warship design.

Canada lynx
The Canada lynx (Lynx canadensis) or Canadian lynx is a North American mammal of the cat family, Felidae. With the recognised subspecies, it ranges across Canada and into Alaska as well as some parts of the northern United States.
With a dense silvery-brown coat, ruffed face and tufted ears, the Canada lynx resembles the other species of the mid-sized Lynx genus. It is slightly larger than the bobcat, with which it shares parts of its range, and over twice the size of the domestic cat.
Taxonomy
There had been debates over whether to classify this species as Lynx canadensis or Felis canadensis, part of a wider issue regarding whether each species of lynx should be given their own genus, or be placed as a subgenus of Felis, but the Lynx genus is now accepted. Johnson et al. report that Lynx shared a clade with the Puma, leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis), and domestic cat (Felis) lineages, dated to 7.15 Ma; Lynx diverged first, approximately 3.24 Ma.

A couple of years ago we surprised Sam's parents by getting them a Maine Coon cat. The first time we ever encountered one of these giant cats was at a cat cafe in Seoul, Korea. We soon visited a few more cat cafes around the world and it was with further encounters we fell in love with this gentle giant breed. The following is a video of our one and a half year old Maine Coon who has many names but officially is called Hobie. You'll find shots of him playing, jumping, splashing, running, chasing, climbing, scratching, eating and a whole lot more. This cat is full of personality and it won't take long for you to realize why we think he's equally parts mischievous and adorable. In terms of facts about the Maine coon gato enjoy the following: The Maine Coon is the largest domesticated breed of cat and you'll notice in terms of its physical appearance large pointed ears, long whiskers, silky flowing coat and massive paws. These cats typically have a playful personality and are intelligent often being compared to dogs in terms of certain habits such as fetching and enjoying water. They're most similar in terms of appearance and size to the Norwegian Forest Cat. Hobie is Sam's red-headed brother, and he's been causing mischief ever since he joined his human family. He may look cute, but this one is a troublemaker, though a lovable one at that. Hobie has a fascination with water and if there's a dripping tap or a bathtub being filled, he'll be the first one at the scene. He loves drinking water from the tub, and if someone were to forget the toilet lid up, he'd likely climb in there too. Playing with bubbles is another pastime for this cheeky little Maine Coon. He'll paw at the water while the tub fills, and then once bubbles start to form, he'll watch in amazement and then try to paw those too. He'll lean in as far in as he can without falling into the water, though I have a feeling he would enjoy a swim if he ever were to tumble in. Once bath time is over, Hobie will wait for his human to leave behind a wet towel and then he'll crawl under it. Like I said, he's a strange one. When he isn't playing with water, Hobie enjoys grooming time. Oh, and scratching furniture as well. Especially if the piece happens to be an antique. This lovable Maine Coon kitty is always up for play time. He enjoys chasing a laser across the couches in the living room, and he could easily spend a half hour running back and forth if it weren't for the fact that his humans get tired. Sometimes, however, his balance is a little off. There he goes... Aside from laser tag, he also enjoys playing with 'Specie-Bird'. He likes to catch a mouthful of feathers, but not when the camera is rolling. That's when he decides to sit down and just stare at you. Another game he enjoys is playing tag with Sam. Hobie will chase Sam down the halls, and then the two trade places, and Sam chases him down instead. It must be pretty scary having a red-headed giant chase you down the halls, but since Hobie runs faster than Sam, he has nothing to worry about. Now this is where Hobie shows of his acrobatic skills. If running weren't impressive enough, he also enjoys leaping. And I'm not talking about leaping on furniture; he'll jump onto the kitchen counters, then onto the fridge, and then sit himself atop the cupboards. And after all that, he'll take a minute to enjoy his own lunch. Bon appetit, kitty! Of course, Hobie is still a young kitten, so after all that activity, he needs a siesta. If all his running around has tired you out, this is when you can enjoy a nap! Quick, before he wakes up. The Maine Coon comes in all colours with the exception of Himalayan pattern, Chocolate or Lilac, with tabbies being the most popular types.
A tabby Maine Coon can give the impression of being an entirely wild looking cat.
The Maine Coon can reach an adult weight of up to 25lb (11.34Kg)
The first Maine Coon cat in this video weighs 21.6lb (9.8 Kg).

What do Maine Coon cats do?
They sleep a lot, like most cats, but have a personality a lot like dogs. Maine Coon's tend to follow you around, chatting a lot, and often being very attentive to what you are doing.
Some Maine Coon cats have been known to play fetch with their owners using small toys. Maine Coon's are very affectionate and often become devoted companions.
Maine Coon cats are very large and heavy, with a weather-resistant coat.
Main coon kittens and cats are a breed that many believe were brought to the US centuries before Columbus discovered America.
They were possibly brought to Maine by the Vikings.
In cold weather, the Maine Coon grows a heavy coat with a particularly large neck ruff and bushy tail.
In warmer weather, the coat looks almost like that of a shorthaired breed.
The Maine Coon head is fairly square with tall ears, the neck very broad, and the whole cat is muscular and powerful.
The Maine Coon comes in all colours with the exception of Himalayan pattern, Chocolate or Lilac, with tabbies being the most popular types.
A tabby Maine Coon can give the impression of being an entirely wild looking cat.
The Maine Coon can reach an adult weight of up to 25lb (11.34Kg)
The first Maine Coon cat in this video weighs 21.6lb (9.8 Kg).

A couple of years ago we surprised Sam's parents by getting them a Maine Coon cat. The first time we ever encountered one of these giant cats was at a cat cafe in Seoul, Korea. We soon visited a few more cat cafes around the world and it was with further encounters we fell in love with this gentle giant breed.
The following is a video of our one and a half year old Maine Coon who has many names but officially is called Hobie. You'll find shots of him playing, jumping, splashing, running, chasing, climbing, scratching, eating and a whole lot more. This cat is full of personality and it won't take long for you to realize why we think he's equally parts mischievous and adorable.
In terms of facts about the Maine coon gato enjoy the following:
The Maine Coon is the largest domesticated breed of cat and you'll notice in terms of its physical appearance large pointed ears, long whiskers, silky flowing coat and massive paws. These cats typically have a playful personality and are intelligent often being compared to dogs in terms of certain habits such as fetching and enjoying water. They're most similar in terms of appearance and size to the Norwegian Forest Cat.

Maine Coon Cat: Meet Hobie Video Transcript:
Meet Hobie the Maine Coon Cat, also known as Hobster the Lobster. Hobie is Sam's red-headed brother, and he's been causing mischief ever since he joined his human family. He may look cute, but this one is a troublemaker, though a lovable one at that.
Hobie has a fascination with water and if there's a dripping tap or a bathtub being filled, he'll be the first one at the scene. He loves drinking water from the tub, and if someone were to forget the toilet lid up, he'd likely climb in there too.
Playing with bubbles is another pastime for this cheeky little Maine Coon. He'll paw at the water while the tub fills, and then once bubbles start to form, he'll watch in amazement and then try to paw those too. He'll lean in as far in as he can without falling into the water, though I have a feeling he would enjoy a swim if he ever were to tumble in.
Once bath time is over, Hobie will wait for his human to leave behind a wet towel and then he'll crawl under it. Like I said, he's a strange one.
When he isn't playing with water, Hobie enjoys grooming time.
Oh, and scratching furniture as well. Especially if the piece happens to be an antique.
This lovable Maine Coon kitty is always up for play time. He enjoys chasing a laser across the couches in the living room, and he could easily spend a half hour running back and forth if it weren't for the fact that his humans get tired. Sometimes, however, his balance is a little off. There he goes...
Aside from laser tag, he also enjoys playing with 'Specie-Bird'. He likes to catch a mouthful of feathers, but not when the camera is rolling. That's when he decides to sit down and just stare at you.
Another game he enjoys is playing tag with Sam. Hobie will chase Sam down the halls, and then the two trade places, and Sam chases him down instead. It must be pretty scary having a red-headed giant chase you down the halls, but since Hobie runs faster than Sam, he has nothing to worry about.
Now this is where Hobie shows of his acrobatic skills. If running weren't impressive enough, he also enjoys leaping. And I'm not talking about leaping on furniture; he'll jump onto the kitchen counters, then onto the fridge, and then sit himself atop the cupboards.
And after all that, he'll take a minute to enjoy his own lunch. Bon appetit, kitty!
Of course, Hobie is still a young kitten, so after all that activity, he needs a siesta. If all his running around has tired you out, this is when you can enjoy a nap! Quick, before he wakes up.
Cuddles are still a work in progress for Hobie the Maine Coon, but regardless of that, he's a keeper!

They sleep a lot, like most cats, but have a personality a lot like dogs. Maine Coon's tend to follow you around, chatting a lot, and often being very attentive to what you are doing.
Some Maine Coon cats have been known to play fetch with their owners using small toys. Maine Coon's are very affectionate and often become devoted companions.
Maine Coon cats are very large and heavy, with a weather-resistant coat.
Main coon kittens and cats are a breed that many believe were brought to the US centuries before Columbus discovered America.
They were possibly brought to Maine by the Vikings.
In cold weather, the Maine Coon grows a heavy coat with a particularly large neck ruff and bushy tail.
In warmer weather, the coat looks almost like that of a shorthaired breed.
The Maine Coon head is fairly square with tall ears, the neck very broad, and the whole cat is muscular and powerful.
The Maine Coon comes in all colours with the exception of Himalayan pattern, Chocolate or Lilac, with tabbies being the most popular types.
A tabby Maine Coon can give the impression of being an entirely wild looking cat.
The Maine Coon can reach an adult weight of up to 25lb (11.34Kg)
The first Maine Coon cat in this video weighs 21.6lb (9.8 Kg).

A couple of years ago we surprised Sam's parents by getting them a Maine Coon cat. The first time we ever encountered one of these giant cats was at a cat cafe in Seoul, Korea. We soon visited a few more cat cafes around the world and it was with further encounters we fell in love with this gentle giant breed.
The following is a video of our one and a half year old Maine Coon who has many names but officially is called Hobie. You'll find shots of him playing, jumping, splashing, running, chasing, climbing, scratching, eating and a whole lot more. This cat is full of personality and it won't take long for you to realize why we think he's equally parts mischievous and adorable.
In terms of facts about the Maine coon gato enjoy the following:
The Maine Coon is the largest domesticated breed of cat and you'll notice in terms of its physical appearance large pointed ears, long whiskers, silky flowing coat and massive paws. These cats typically have a playful personality and are intelligent often being compared to dogs in terms of certain habits such as fetching and enjoying water. They're most similar in terms of appearance and size to the Norwegian Forest Cat.

Maine Coon Cat: Meet Hobie Video Transcript:
Meet Hobie the Maine Coon Cat, also known as Hobster the Lobster. Hobie is Sam's red-headed brother, and he's been causing mischief ever since he joined his human family. He may look cute, but this one is a troublemaker, though a lovable one at that.
Hobie has a fascination with water and if there's a dripping tap or a bathtub being filled, he'll be the first one at the scene. He loves drinking water from the tub, and if someone were to forget the toilet lid up, he'd likely climb in there too.
Playing with bubbles is another pastime for this cheeky little Maine Coon. He'll paw at the water while the tub fills, and then once bubbles start to form, he'll watch in amazement and then try to paw those too. He'll lean in as far in as he can without falling into the water, though I have a feeling he would enjoy a swim if he ever were to tumble in.
Once bath time is over, Hobie will wait for his human to leave behind a wet towel and then he'll crawl under it. Like I said, he's a strange one.
When he isn't playing with water, Hobie enjoys grooming time.
Oh, and scratching furniture as well. Especially if the piece happens to be an antique.
This lovable Maine Coon kitty is always up for play time. He enjoys chasing a laser across the couches in the living room, and he could easily spend a half hour running back and forth if it weren't for the fact that his humans get tired. Sometimes, however, his balance is a little off. There he goes...
Aside from laser tag, he also enjoys playing with 'Specie-Bird'. He likes to catch a mouthful of feathers, but not when the camera is rolling. That's when he decides to sit down and just stare at you.
Another game he enjoys is playing tag with Sam. Hobie will chase Sam down the halls, and then the two trade places, and Sam chases him down instead. It must be pretty scary having a red-headed giant chase you down the halls, but since Hobie runs faster than Sam, he has nothing to worry about.
Now this is where Hobie shows of his acrobatic skills. If running weren't impressive enough, he also enjoys leaping. And I'm not talking about leaping on furniture; he'll jump onto the kitchen counters, then onto the fridge, and then sit himself atop the cupboards.
And after all that, he'll take a minute to enjoy his own lunch. Bon appetit, kitty!
Of course, Hobie is still a young kitten, so after all that activity, he needs a siesta. If all his running around has tired you out, this is when you can enjoy a nap! Quick, before he wakes up.
Cuddles are still a work in progress for Hobie the Maine Coon, but regardless of that, he's a keeper!
