You know, i never liked fake-outs, if a character dies, he should stay dead.
but in this case, Gurgi was in fact, dead, and it was up to Taran to revive him, it was his choice, if katzenberg didn't deleted scenes that showed him actually doing anything, we would actually care about this kid.

This movie used to freak me out as a kid! But I wanted to give Eilonwy a try. I gave her voice my own "modern" personal touch. I haven't dubbed something in an accent in a long time. :P

Not much is known about how the uncut version of this scene would play out, so one can only guess stuff like Taran originally grabbing The Horned King by the cloak and push him towards the Cauldron, Katzenberg deleting it because it wouldn't look okay a hero murdering the villian like that.
Also, I expect less flashing when the camera pans up to The Horned King's face when he is being sucked.

Oh, this is a big one, first of all, Taran kills the guy at the beggining, no doubt about it.
there is a bunch of other scenes that were deleted because Taran was freaking killing everyone in sight with that sword, wich makes sense, because later that would pay off, because it would show him full of himself.
But without those scenes, it looks like Taran doesnt even cares he has a powerul sword, he rans away from his enemies like a pussy.

Taran (character)
Taran is a fictional character from Lloyd Alexander's The Chronicles of Prydain series of novels. Serving as the series's central protagonist, he is first introduced as the assistant pig-keeper at Caer Dallben charged with the care of Hen Wen, the oracular white pig. With dreams of becoming a great hero, over the course of the series, his character matures as he is drawn into the war against Arawn Death-Lord and his champion, the Horned King.
During his journey, he befriends Princess Eilonwy, a young girl his age, Fflewddur Fflam, a wandering bard and minor king, Gurgi, a wild hominid between animal and man, and the dwarf Doli. Upon the conclusion of the series, Taran is crowned High King of Prydain and marries his longtime companion, Princess Eilonwy.

Not much is known about how the uncut version of this scene would play out, so one can only guess stuff like Taran originally grabbing The Horned King by the cloak and push him towards the Cauldron, Katzenberg deleting it because it wouldn't look okay a hero murdering the villian like that.
Also, I expect less flashing when the camera pans up to The Horned King's face when he is being sucked.

Oh, this is a big one, first of all, Taran kills the guy at the beggining, no doubt about it.
there is a bunch of other scenes that were deleted because Taran was freaking killing everyone in sight with that sword, wich makes sense, because later that would pay off, because it would show him full of himself.
But without those scenes, it looks like Taran doesnt even cares he has a powerul sword, he rans away from his enemies like a pussy.
