Jeffrey Pfeffer, Ph.D. (*July 23rd 1946 St. Louis, Missouri), is the Thomas D. Dee II Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, and is considered one of today's most influential management thinkers. He is the author of over a dozen books including The Human Equation: Building Profits by Putting People First, Managing with Power: Politics and Influence in Organizations, The Knowing-Doing Gap: How Smart Companies Turn Knowledge Into Action, Hidden Value: How Great Companies Achieve Extraordinary Results with Ordinary People, Hard Facts, Dangerous Half-Truths, and Total Nonsense: Profiting from Evidence-Based Management, and What Were They Thinking? Unconventional Wisdom About Management. Pfeffer also has written a collection of 27 essays about management topics, as well as more than 120 articles. Pfeffer’s newest book, entitled Power: Why Some People Have It—And Others Don't was published and released in September 2010 . Plot: Two-part movie focusing on one of Germany's most controversial murder trials after World War II. In spring 1960, Dr. Dietrich Schwarz and his housekeeper Elisabeth Huhn are killed cruelly in his mansion near Munich. Although the police considers suicide, his son brings a charge against his mistress, the self confident Vera Brühne because she inherits the victim's house in Spain. The prosecution runs an investigation and finally believes in the guilt of Brühne and her alleged aide Johann Ferbach. After a dubious trial, they are sentenced to life. Plot: Several known criminals already have been murdered by a professional killer, leaving no trace but the "ace" game card. The police suspects a new mob is trying to take over the district. The investigating police officer Jan is victimized by a bomb himself, when he's at his girlfriend Daniela's father's Italian restaurant. Although paralyzed and suspended from work, the tuff cop continues to investigate and takes revenge on the gangsters who did this to him.
