Here you will see video from
Sun Island on
Maldives.
Sorry because of camera vibrations, but this wasn't filmed with Gopro like camera. I used my mobile, normal camera
....
Hope you will like it!
Few things you might like to know if you're thinking of going to Maldives:
1. Sun Island Resort & Spa - Before going there I have read a lot of reviews. Most of them made me think of not going there, because of as they said - poor food, obsolete bungalow furniture, unpolite staff, etc. But as this was one of cheapest offers, I said: "
What the heck, let's try!"
And I didn't miss - the holiday was one of the best ever. I don't understand people writing such things!
Food was great, everyday something else, from pasta, pizza, grilled fish, steaks.... Only consider taking
All inclusive (if it's not too expensive) because drinks you pay and the prices are high (water 1.5 l - 5
USD).
Yes, bungalows are not new ones, but who goes there and stays in one? I had
Superior beach bungalow (Nr.155),
100m from restaurant and the beach is the best on this part of
Island (side opposite of
Water villas).
Don't choose
Standard bungalow cause they don't have nice sand in front of it. Don't choose Sun villas cause they are inside of island and there are a lot of mosquitos ( a lot, belive me). Water villas are OK, but I wanted to have sand in front of room, especially because of 2 yr old daughter and knowing that I come from
Croatia with beach 50 m from my house but not with sand like this. We spent days in front of room on sand, laying on sun chairs (not spending time in room so forget on comments about outdated furniture).I have been to 5+ star hotels but I have nothing against this resort and would come back. Staff is very friendly, even more if you have kid.
Room was cleaned few times per day.
Leave 1 USD every day on bed for staff and they will pay attention more then usual. Don't jump with wet sandy feet on bed, be polite and they will be great!
2.
Weather - we were there at start od November with rain almost every night but for half an hour and tomorrow you see no signs of it. We hoped for many sunny days but this didn't happen and that was good. Why good? If it's sunny, you get sunburned.
Wind is always there so you don't feel heat on your body.
Clothes to take: t-shirts, some hat, shorts, surfer shirt 50+ factor.
Forget about anything with long sleeves or closed shoes - you don't need this.
3. Activities - bring your own diving mask, Gopro camera if you have it (if not - buy one before going there!).
Rent a bike for all days (island is 1.5 km long with lots of spots to see).
Bike costs 5 USD per day. There are lot of excursions which are pretty expensive but choose one. We went to snorkeling on reef - perfect and I even saw whale.
Motorsports are way to expensive - jet ski 90 USD for 10 min!!
I still wander - if here was so good, then what does it looks like on resort 3 times more expensive? I belive that is throwing money into wind...
Voila, that's it! Not going to bother you more!
