About 60,000 attended the rally at the MCG yesterday and 250,000 people attended other rallies around the country as part of a national day of action against John Howard’s IR laws.

Fill the ‘G’ on Thursday November 30

Say NO to Howard’s IR laws

UNITE is supporting the next National Day of Protest against John Howard’s IR Laws. The details for the protest are: Thursday November 30 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Get off the train at either Jolimont or Richmond station.

We call on all members and supporters to join the action and help fill the MCG on that day. Gates open at 7.00am. The official program starts at exactly 9.00am. Pre-show entertainment starts at 8.00am. After the proceedings there will be a march to Federation Square in the CBD.

UNITE calls for protests against G20

A UNION has called for fast food and retail workers to join a mass protest in Melbourne this weekend, as the world’s economic leaders meet for the G20 summit.

Say NO to the IR laws – Say NO to the G20

UNITE calls on all members and supporters to attend the main demonstration that has been called against the G20 meeting. The 2006 G20 meeting of finance ministers, reserve bank governors and heads of the World Bank and IMF will take place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Melbourne on November 18.
