This project is interested in using innovate visual and performance based research methods and reflecting on these as part of the research process. Although visual methods are becoming more widely accepted as a social science research method (Pink 2012), performance based methods are less well established and the intersection between different methods is an exciting area of current enquiry. As well as assessing the interventions using traditional evaluative tools, this project intends to use the arts themselves to elucidate research outcomes. This short film will outline the proposed methods, and briefly theorise them. This film is intended to be of benefit to other social science practitioners who are thinking of employing visual methods or collaborating with artists as part of social sci...

Description"Crocodile" Dundee is a 1986 Australian comedy film set in the Australian Outback and in New York City. It stars Paul Hogan as the weathered Mick Dundee. Hogan's future wife Linda Kozlowski portrayed Sue Charlton. Inspired by the true life exploits of Rodney Ansell, the film was made on a budget of under $10 million as a deliberate attempt to make a commercial Australian film that would appeal to a mainstream American audience, but proved to be a worldwide phenomenon. Released on 30 April 1986 in Australia, and on 26 September 1986 in the United States, it was the second-highest-grossing film in the United States in that year and went on to become the second-highest grossing film worldwide at the box office as well. There are two versions of the film: the Australian version, a...
Burton Leon "Burt" Reynolds (born February 11, 1936) is an American actor, director and producer. He starred in many films, such as Deliverance, The Longest Yard, Smokey and the Bandit and Boogie Nights. Albert R. Broccoli asked Reynolds to play James Bond, but he turned the role down, saying "An American can't play James Bond. It just can't be done. His breakout performance in Deliverance (1972) made him a star, and he gained notoriety when he posed naked in the April (Vol. 172, No. 4) issue of Cosmopolitan. Reynolds claims the centerfold in Cosmopolitan hurt the chances for the film and cast to receive Academy Awards. In 1977, Reynolds declined the role of Han Solo in the Star Wars franchise, Instead Reynolds starred with Jerry Reed, Jackie Gleason and Sally Field in Smokey and the Ba...

In The Birth Project we are exploring women’s experience of childbirth and the transition to motherhood using the arts and then presenting the research findings in films and exhibitions. Our overarching research question wishes to explore what role arts engagement might have to play in antenatal and postnatal provision, especially where post-birth trauma is being translated into bodily symptoms. The Birth Project is also interested in investigating to what extent clinically-related birth practices are implicated in iatrogenic outcomes and post-natal distress. Furthermore, we are also concerned to investigate what is distinctive about an arts-based approach in terms of expressing narratives about birth and the transition to motherhood, so we are interested in thinking about different sorts ...

If there's a prize for rotten judgement,
I guess I've already won that.
No man is worth the aggravation...
That's ancient history, been there, done that.
[Muses]
Who'd you think you're kidding?
He's the Earth and Heaven to you.
Try to keep it hidden,
Honey, we can see right through you.
Girl you can't conceal it,
We know how you feel, and who you're thinking of.
[Meg]
Ohhhh,
No chance, no way!
I won't say it, no, no.
[Muses]
You swoon, you sigh,
Why deny it, uh-oh.
[Meg]
It's too cliche,
I won't say I'm in love...
I thought my heart had learned its lesson,
It feels so good when you start out.
My head is screaming "Get a grip, girl
Unless you're dying to cry your heart out!"
Ohhhhhhh
[Muses]
You keep on denying
Who you are and how you're feeling.
Baby, we're not buying,
Hon, we saw you hit the ceiling!
Face it like a grown-up.
When you gonna own up
That you got, got, got it bad?
[Meg]
Ohhhhh
No chance, now way!
I won't say it, no, no.
[Muses]
Give up, give in,
Check the grin you're in love.
[Meg]
This scene won't play,
I won't say I'm in love!
[Muses]
You're doing flips, read our lips,
You're in love.
[Meg]
You're way off base, I won't say it!
Get off my case, I won't say it!
[Muses]
Girl, don't be proud,
It's okay you're in love...
[Meg]
Ohhhhh
At least out loud,
I won't say I'm in love.
[Muses]
