This week on CUTV News, we look at the Under Pressure Break Dance Battle, Pervers Cite's Queer Walking Tour of Montreal, and the current conflict on Kanehsatake.Under Pressure will hit Montreal on August 14th and 15th. To keep the event going, organizers held a fundraiser in NDG. There was a breakdance battle, DJ's and of course, plenty of support. Yiota from CUTV shows us more.There are events going on all week for Pervers Cite. It is the alternative to the now mainstream Divers Cite. Organizers have felt Divers Cite has turned into a mainstream party with little reflection on the struggles some niches of the gay community still have to deal with. So Pervers Cite offers many events leading up to the Pride Parade. We joined them on their Queer Walk of Montreal as people made a connection to the community's past.Exactly 20 years after the Oka Crisis, a developer is planning a non-Native housing project on the same land. A young boy at the time, Mohawk Clifton Nicholas stood on the baricade in 1990, and today brings us back to Kanehsatake to cover the issue for CUTV. We will continue to cover this issue and bring you footage in the coming weeks.
