Canadian MP Costas Menegakis: Shen Yun—"Unbelievable!"

Shen Yun Performing Arts is wrapping up its four-day-run in Toronto at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. Richmond Hill Constituency Member of Parliament Costas Menegakis was at Shen Yun's first performance on January 17th. Here's what he had to say about the performance. He was especially struck by the precision and synchronization of Shen Yun's classical Chinese dance and music performance. [Costas Menegakis, Canadian Member of Parliament]: "I like everything! ... It's unbelievable! The synchronization of the music, the orchestra, the dancers, the performances, and the technological backdrops...unbelievable how much it all comes together with absolute precision." Mr. Menegakis says he got a strong message of human rights from one of the dances. [Costas Menegakis, Canadian Member of Parliament]: "The message of the right of people to be able to practice their religion; It's a very strong message of human rights—a message that our government, the Prime Minister of Canada had an opportunity to discuss with the higher levels of the Chinese government while over there. So it's a very strong message coming across loud and clear. It is very touching." He shares his opinion about the Chinese people and its nation's rich cultural heritage. [Costas Menegakis, Canadian Member of Parliament]: "Chinese people have thousands and thousands of very rich culture, very rich civilization, a beautiful language, beautiful people and an absolutely outstanding way to be able to express that through the power of art. I am sure they are delighted to see the culture lives in the hearts and minds of the people. That will never be destroyed." Mr. Menegakis says the lyrics of Shen Yun's songs give a spiritual message that bonds all human beings. The power of spirit, the power of God and that there is someone above bigger than all of us. It really speaks to something that bonds all humans on this planet."
