Paul directed the promotional film for ‘Hello, Goodbye’, remarking later: “Directing a film is something that everyone always wants to get into. It was something I’d always been interested in, until I actually tried it. ... There was so much of that going on – so many decisions to be made – that I ended up hating it.”
“I just ran out there: ‘Get a shot of this! Do this for a bit now! Let’s have a shot there! Get a close-up of him! Get the girls on their own! Go back there! Get a wide angle! We’ll edit it, we’ll make it work.’”

Beatles 1+ Deluxe Edition Celebrates the Sight & Sound of The Beatles in 50 Films & Videos
London – September 15, 2015 – After The Beatles stopped touring, and because travelling around the globe to promote new releases was impossible, the band increasingly made what could be described as “mini movies”. These pioneering promotional films and videos helped to define the way we have come to watch music, not least because The Beatles approached filming with the same ease and innovative spirit they brought to the recording studio, exploring new creative possibilities with infectious delight. Showcasing the band’s filmed work to accompany their 27 No.1, U.K. and U.S. singles, The Beatles 1 is newly restored and expanded in multiple configurations for global release on November 6 by Apple Corps Ltd/UMG.
The 27-track CD/DVD and CD/Blu-ray pairs beautifully restored videos for each song, with new stereo and 5.1 Dolby Digital and DTS HD surround audio mixes. The brand new Beatles 1+ celebrates their career in over 200 minutes through 50 promotional films and videos. This includes the 27 No.1s, with the restored videos, along with a second disc of 23 videos, including alternate versions, as well as rarely seen and newly restored films and videos; all include new audio mixes in deluxe CD/2-DVD and CD/2-Blu-ray packages. The 27-track audio CD is also being made available with new stereo mixes. A 2 LP, 180-gram vinyl package will follow.
The new editions of The Beatles 1 have been made possible following extensive research, and restoration of the original promo films, classic television appearances and other carefully selected videos spanning the band’s history. Apple Corps dug deep into The Beatles’ vaults to select a broad range of films and videos for their rarity, historical significance and quality of performance. An 18-person team of film and video technicians and restoration artists was assembled by Apple Corps to undertake painstaking frame-by-frame cleaning, colour-grading, digital enhancement and new edits that took months of dedicated, ‘round-the-clock work to accomplish.
The result is a visual run down of The Beatles’ number one records, as well as the additional tracks on the bonus disc of Beatles 1+ that show the band in previously unseen standards of clarity and quality; many of the films and videos have never before been commercially released, in whole or in part.
Beatles 1 and Beatles 1+ offers the restored films, including 35mm negatives scanned in 4K and digitally restored with new stereo and 5.1 surround audio remixes, produced from the original analogue tapes by the GRAMMY® winning team of Giles Martin with Sam Okell at Abbey Road Studios. For four of the videos, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have provided exclusive audio commentary and filmed introductions, respectively. The 1+ Deluxe Edition, presented in an expanded 124-page illustrated hardcover book includes ‘an appreciation’ of The Beatles’ ground-breaking films and videos by music journalist and author Mark Ellen and extensive, detailed track/video annotation by music historian and author Richard Havers.
“These videos and films are spectacular reminders of the era we lived in. They also rock!” – Paul McCartney
"I think it’s really interesting to see the videos we made, some of them incredible and some of them really incredible. How else would we have got to sit on a horse?" – Ringo Starr
Between 1962 and 1970, The Beatles released 27 No.1 hit singles in the U.S. and the U.K. In 2000, these timeless songs were collected for The Beatles 1, which topped the charts in 35 countries and became that decade’s bestselling album worldwide. 15 years later, 1 is revisited for this entirely new, visually-inspired presentation.
It’s The Beatles, as you’ve never seen them before.

"For No One" is a song written by Paul McCartney (credited to Lennon–McCartney) that originally appeared on the Beatles' seventh album, Revolver. A baroque rock song about the end of a relationship, it was one of McCartney's most mature and poignant works upon its release. Mostly performed by the composer, the track is distinguished by its French horn solo, performed by Alan Civil and used as an obbligato in the final verse.
John Lennon said of the song, "One of my favourites of his—a nice piece of work."[1]

“When you talk about destruction, don’t you know that you can count me out"
“I did the slow version and I wanted it out as a single: as a statement of The Beatles’ position on Vietnam and The Beatles’ position on revolution. For years, on The Beatles’ tours, Brian Epstein had stopped us from saying anything about Vietnam or the war.” - John Lennon.
“Plugging directly into the Abbey Road desk and pushing the needles into the red achieved the fuzz-guitar sound. According to George Martin “We got into distortion on that, which we had a lot of complaints from the technical people about. But that was the idea: it was John’s song and the idea was to push it right to the limit. Well, we went to the limit and beyond.”
“Revolution" was directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, and filmed on the 4th September 1968 at Twickenham Film Studios.

“Revolution" was directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, and filmed on the 4th September 1968 at Twickenham Film Studios.

Live, television: It's The Beatles
3.45pm, Saturday 7 December 1963
Following their appearance on the BBC television show Juke Box Jury, The Beatles recorded a special concert appearance for the corporation at Liverpool's Empire Theatre.
The performance took place in front of 2,500 members of The Beatles' Northern Area Fan Club, between 3.45 and 4.30pm. It was filmed in its entirety by the BBC, and 30 minutes were broadcast that evening from 8.10pm to 8.40pm during a special programme entitled It's The Beatles.
The group played a short version of From Me To You, followed by I Saw Her Standing There, All My Loving, Roll Over Beethoven, Boys, Till There Was You, She Loves You, This Boy, I Want To Hold Your Hand, Money (That's What I Want), Twist And Shout, and another version of From Me To You.
Technical problems and lack of rehearsal times meant the sound balance for the concert recording was sub-standard. Both The Beatles and senior figures at the BBC later expressed concern at the often embarrassing nature of the footage, which included the absence of Ringo vocals during Boys and the director focusing on the wrong members of the group during key moments.
After the concert the BBC also recorded a two-minute interview with the group to use on the Christmas Day edition of Top Of The Pops.
The Beatles then made the short journey to the nearby Odeon Cinema on London Road where they gave two evening concerts. The police closed Pudsey Street to the public to allow the group to reach the venue unhindered.

Yesterday (Live in Germany)

The Beatles: The Black Album
My own Black Album, what if the Beatles had gone to make another album after Abbey Road, I based this on the White Album, the songs are paired to a sibling on the White Album, so Band on the Run equals to Back in the USSR and Oh my Love to Dear Prudence, and so on with some anomalies of course.
Hope you enjoy it.

A biography documenting the Beatles' rise to fame and the details of their personal lives, afterwards. At the end of the film is a montage of "rare" (mostly) early interviews of the boys.

The Beatles were an English rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1960. With members John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, they became widely regarded as the greatest and most influential act of the rock era. In the early 1960s, their enormous popularity first emerged as "Beatlemania", but as the group's music grew in sophistication, led by primary songwriters Lennon and McCartney, they came to be perceived as an embodiment of the ideals shared by the era's sociocultural revolutions.
They gained popularity in the United Kingdom after their first hit, "Love Me Do", in late 1962. They acquired the nickname "the Fab Four" as Beatlemania grew in Britain over the following year, and by early 1964 they had become international stars. From 1965 onwards, the Beatles produced what many consider their finest material, including the innovative and widely influential albums Rubber Soul (1965), Revolver (1966), Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967), The Beatles (1968) and Abbey Road (1969).
After their break-up in 1970, they each enjoyed successful musical careers of varying lengths. McCartney and Starr, the surviving members, remain musically active. Lennon was shot and killed in December 1980, and Harrison died of lung cancer in November 2001.

This is a response to the videos posted with interviews of the individual Beatles who still liked to play music with one another but not so much as Beatles any longer. In January 1975 (actually December 1974 in Disney World), the band officially dissolved, all four members signed. This is also to acknowledge 45 years since The Beatles - White Album was released. This is a theoretical in that each songwriter used the others to be a backup band with a rare backup vocal. Gone were the three and four way harmonies like in With a Little Help From My Friends or What Goes On.. The White Album was just a really good album they all helped each other do. Not much co-writing at all. In this version we put Elton John as guest musician in place of Eric Clapton with John's Whatever Gets You Through The Night. We see Bluebird instead of Blackbird. Blackbird is the better of the two admittedly. It was recently learned that Eric Clapton helped on on My Sweet Lord playing acoustic with George under Phil Spector production. Tremendous sound, I hope they one day really mix down a record like this officially. Maybe Paul and Ringo could oversee it as a last cool thing before we pull the curtain. Miss the old Beatles, sorry it was so crazy, love the four lads from Liverpool. This collection is the most "Beatle-like" or best material to present from the four guys, Paul only on one Ringo song, nobody on Paul's. Obviously they were pretty ticked at the time. But music was made by Paul that shows he has bass lines that are most Beatle-like. Imagine that. And this is set up to be a four CD set though it is continuous for over 2 hours. Enjoy, don't watch just listen to what magic they still had. John said so anyway, do a collection of their post-Beatle songs and you'd get a 2nd White Album basically. This has the sad version of All Things Must Pass because you can tell no one was really giving it its due except George who wrote it. It's a reminder, but ends on a happy note with a co-mingled John Lennon-Ringo Starr version of Only You last song. Original Ringo version that was on the radio is on Side 1. This is not intended to infringe any copyright and all rights reserved by respective parties, EMI and UMG.

Here is the long awaited, and most requested, restoration of The Beatles "Rooftop Concert" from January 30th, 1969. The audio quality has been cleaned up to the best of my abilities, having listened to it multiple times for any possible flaws I could detect. As of now, this is the largest, longest, and most complicated restoration video I've done to date. Also, I felt that video footage from the concert could not be used due to the fact that there was enough audio removed that it would not sync up and look out of place.
In addition, the concert was originally going to be broken up into several videos, but I felt it could work better if it had one continuous flow; without disruption, so as to not break away from the (concert's) overall experience. However, I made sure to section up each song individually by putting in the times at which they are played, so as to give the option of jumping ahead to listen to any particular song if or whenever desired.
Bare in mind, I could not have worked on each instrument or vocals individually, since I do not have access to the master tracks, so I had to work with the audio that I had as a whole. Therefore, it's not going to be perfect, but I did everything I could to get it to sound the best I could with what I had to use.
Cleaning up wise, I lifted up the audio by using hard limiting, volume control for audio that spiked up in sound, click/pop removal, hiss reduction, fading in/out, delay for polished sound and echo, and other various tools. Most of the time was spent on editing. I also did not reuse audio from previous videos I restored of some of these songs. They are completely redone in this one.
Each song was worked on and edited individually, as well as any audio and conversations in between. I also made sure that any audio removed, which there was quite a bit of due to the fact that there were moments that it just seemed either pointless or boring or just dragged on for far too long, would have smooth transition and not even be noticeable. However, there are moments where the audio sounds like it's going in and out during discussions on the roof, but they were originally there, so they are not the result of poor editing (just to make sure if someone points it out).
Well, I hope the wait was worth it to you guys, and that you enjoy a trip down memory lane, but in a new way. Peace and Love!

The Beatles from beginning to end. The Beatles gave this L.A. 1966 press conference pr at the Capitol Records Tower, Los Angeles on August 24th, 1966.
The press asks Lennon mundane questions about his recent "Bigger than Jesus" remarks. A condescending reporter takes a shot at Ringo while the cameraman can't tell Ringo from John.
They take it in stride, with intelligence, honesty and humor from all four.
Later presented with steak branding irons (huh?) and gold records from RIAA for Revolver. Closeups show Brian Epstein lecturing John and Ringo. Later Interviewed by a Dick Clark stand-in, George is in a whimsical mood, and Paul goofs with the guy.
David Crosby, who at the time was a member of The Byrds, can occasionally be spotted in the film.
Following this interview the Beatles returned to the tour with a performance at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Two days later the group would close out their 1966 tour with their historic finale at Candlestick Park in San Fransisco - their last-ever concert.
In the coming years, while there would be no more touring, the Beatles would focus on creativity in the recording studio, producing some of the finest albums of their catalogue.
