The D.A. knew that's why he was handing off his personal property to the clerk next to him. He expected to be taken into custody the video shows it clearly.

Mr. A delivers his prisoner to the Court Bailiff, a County Sherriff's Deputy. Then he educates the Judge and DA on federal law, then the Judge loses control of the courtroom and throws the DA out of court. Watch the DA throughout the proceedings, he's shake'in, not stirred. LMAO

In one month, Bexar County jury's have given three probation sentences to defendant's charged with serious intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault cases. It's an alarming trend, the district attorney's office says needs to stop."It sends a message to those who are accused of driving while intoxication or killing someone on the roadway while they're drunk to go ahead and roll the dice and maybe they jury will give them probation," said First District Attorney Cliff Herberg. "That's the wrong message we want to send and it's very disappointing to us."Yesterday, a jury recommended a ten year probation sentence for former O'Connor teacher, Jose Castaneda. In 2008, Castaneda was driving drunk when he killed Tamara Simpson the day before Mother's Day. Earlier this month, another jury also sentenced Julie Bronson and former Army private Jacob Perez to probation. Bronson, a former flight attendant, critically injured Ava Lopez and her family in a crash. Perez killed Juan Urritia and injured four others in 2008 crash on a west San Antonio highway. Since January, Bexar County's DWI Task Force has tried a handful of drinking and driving cases. Only two of them have resulted in prison time. In January, Sandra Coy Briggs was sentenced to 45 years for killing San Antonio Police Officer Sergio Antillon. A jury gave 32-year-old Jenny Ann Ybarra two years behind bars for killing Erica Nicole Smith in 2007."We're getting convictions," said Herberg. "It's the punishment now that we have to send the message with."Herberg says their prosecutors will continue to seek severe and strong punishments for those who break the law. In many jurisdictions in the United States, a District Attorney (DA) is an elected or appointed government official who represents the government in the prosecution of criminal offenses. The district attorney is the highest officeholder in the jurisdiction's legal department and supervises a staff of assistant (ADA) or deputy district attorneys. Similar functions are carried out at the local level in other jurisdictions by officers named the Commonwealth's Attorney, State's Attorney, County Attorney, or County Prosecutor. Depending on the system in place in the particular state or county, district attorneys may be appointed by the chief executive of the region or elected by the people.
Different levels of government in the U.S. operate independently of one another, and people who perform the role of district attorney function differently at the federal, state, and county levels. The proper title for an appointed federal prosecutor at the local level (as opposed to an appointed U.S. Department of Justice prosecutor based in Washington, D.C.) is United States Attorney. Such officers are appointed by the President of the United States, serve under the Attorney General, and prosecute cases in the district courts of the federal government. United States Attorneys, in turn, hire prosecutors to handle the daily affairs of the office; they are known as Assistant United States Attorneys, or AUSAs.

Since January, Bexar County's DWI Task Force has tried a handful of drinking and driving cases. Only two of them have resulted in prison time. In January, Sandra Coy Briggs was sentenced to 45 years for killing San Antonio Police Officer Sergio Antillon. A jury gave 32-year-old Jenny Ann Ybarra two years behind bars for killing Erica Nicole Smith in 2007."We're getting convictions," said Herberg. Earling Carothers "Jim" Garrison (November 20, 1921 -- October 21, 1992) — who changed his first name to Jim in the early 1960s — was the District Attorney of Orleans Parish, Louisiana from 1962 to 1973. A member of the Democratic Party, he is best known for his investigations into the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. He was played by Kevin Costner in Oliver Stone's JFK.
Garrison remains a controversial figure. Opinions differ as to whether he uncovered a conspiracy behind the John F. Kennedy assassination, but was blocked from successful prosecution by a federal government cover-up, whether he bungled his chance to uncover a conspiracy, or whether the entire case was an unproductive waste of resources.
As New Orleans D.A., Garrison began an investigation into the assassination of President Kennedy in late 1966, after receiving several tips from Jack Martin that a man named David Ferrie may have been involved in the assassination. The end result of Garrison's investigation was the arrest and trial of New Orleans businessman Clay Shaw in 1969, with Shaw being unanimously acquitted less than one hour after the case went to the jury.
Garrison was able to subpoena the Zapruder film from Life magazine and show it to the public for the first time. Until the trial, the film had rarely been seen, and bootleg copies made by assassination investigators working with Garrison led to the film's wider distribution.
Garrison's key witness against Clay Shaw was Perry Russo, a 25-year-old insurance salesman from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. At the trial, Russo testified that he had attended a party at anti-Castro activist David Ferrie's apartment. At the party, Russo said that Lee Harvey Oswald (who Russo said was introduced to him as "Leon Oswald"), David Ferrie, and "Clem Bertrand" (who Russo identified in the courtroom as Clay Shaw) had discussed killing President Kennedy. The conversation included plans for the "triangulation of crossfire" and alibis for the participants.
Russo's version of events has been questioned by some historians and researchers, such as Patricia Lambert, once it became known that part of his testimony was induced by hypnotism, and by the drug sodium pentothal (sometimes called "truth serum"). An early version of Russo's testimony (as told in Assistant D.A. Andrew Sciambra's memo, before Russo was subjected to sodium pentothal and hypnosis) fails to mention an "assassination party" and says that Russo met Clay Shaw on two occasions, neither of which occurred at the party. However, in his book On the Trail of the Assassins, Garrison says that Russo had already discussed the party at Ferrie's apartment before any "truth serum" was admitted. Moreover, in several public interviews, such as one shown in the video The JFK Assassination: The Jim Garrison Tapes, Russo reiterates the same account of a party at Ferrie's apartment that he gave at the trial.
Jim Garrison defended his conduct regarding witness testimony, stating:
Before we introduced the testimony of our witnesses, we made them undergo independent verifying tests, including polygraph examination, truth serum and hypnosis. We thought this would be hailed as an unprecedented step in jurisprudence; instead, the press turned around and hinted that we had drugged our witnesses or given them posthypnotic suggestions to testify falsely.
US talk radio host David Mendelsohn conducted a comprehensive interview with Jim Garrison which was broadcast in 1988 by KPFA in Berkley California. Alongside Garrison the voices of Lee Harvey Oswald, JFK filmmaker Oliver Stone. Garrison explains that cover stories were circulated in an attempt to blame the killing on the Cubans and the Mafia but he blames the conspiracy to kill the president firmly on the CIA who wanted to continue the cold war, whereas Alan Dulles and the CIA did not.
After the Shaw trial, Garrison wrote three books on the Kennedy assassination, A Heritage of Stone (1970), The Star Spangled Contract (1976, fiction, but based on the JFK assassination), and the best-seller, On The Trail of The Assassins (1988). Earling Carothers "Jim" Garrison (November 20, 1921 -- October 21, 1992) — who changed his first name to Jim in the early 1960s — was the District Attorney of Orleans Parish, Louisiana from 1962 to 1973. A member of the Democratic Party, he is best known for his investigations into the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. He was played by Kevin Costner in Oliver Stone's JFK.
Garrison remains a controversial figure. Opinions differ as to whether he uncovered a conspiracy behind the John F. Kennedy assassination, but was blocked from successful prosecution by a federal government cover-up, whether he bungled his chance to uncover a conspiracy, or whether the entire case was an unproductive waste of resources.
As New Orleans D.A., Garrison began an investigation into the assassination of President Kennedy in late 1966, after receiving several tips from Jack Martin that a man named David Ferrie may have been involved in the assassination. The end result of Garrison's investigation was the arrest and trial of New Orleans businessman Clay Shaw in 1969, with Shaw being unanimously acquitted less than one hour after the case went to the jury.
Garrison was able to subpoena the Zapruder film from Life magazine and show it to the public for the first time. Until the trial, the film had rarely been seen, and bootleg copies made by assassination investigators working with Garrison led to the film's wider distribution.
Garrison's key witness against Clay Shaw was Perry Russo, a 25-year-old insurance salesman from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. At the trial, Russo testified that he had attended a party at anti-Castro activist David Ferrie's apartment. At the party, Russo said that Lee Harvey Oswald (who Russo said was introduced to him as "Leon Oswald"), David Ferrie, and "Clem Bertrand" (who Russo identified in the courtroom as Clay Shaw) had discussed killing President Kennedy. The conversation included plans for the "triangulation of crossfire" and alibis for the participants.
Russo's version of events has been questioned by some historians and researchers, such as Patricia Lambert, once it became known that part of his testimony was induced by hypnotism, and by the drug sodium pentothal (sometimes called "truth serum"). An early version of Russo's testimony (as told in Assistant D.A. Andrew Sciambra's memo, before Russo was subjected to sodium pentothal and hypnosis) fails to mention an "assassination party" and says that Russo met Clay Shaw on two occasions, neither of which occurred at the party. However, in his book On the Trail of the Assassins, Garrison says that Russo had already discussed the party at Ferrie's apartment before any "truth serum" was admitted. Moreover, in several public interviews, such as one shown in the video The JFK Assassination: The Jim Garrison Tapes, Russo reiterates the same account of a party at Ferrie's apartment that he gave at the trial.
Jim Garrison defended his conduct regarding witness testimony, stating:
Before we introduced the testimony of our witnesses, we made them undergo independent verifying tests, including polygraph examination, truth serum and hypnosis. We thought this would be hailed as an unprecedented step in jurisprudence; instead, the press turned around and hinted that we had drugged our witnesses or given them posthypnotic suggestions to testify falsely.
US talk radio host David Mendelsohn conducted a comprehensive interview with Jim Garrison which was broadcast in 1988 by KPFA in Berkley California. Alongside Garrison the voices of Lee Harvey Oswald, JFK filmmaker Oliver Stone. Garrison explains that cover stories were circulated in an attempt to blame the killing on the Cubans and the Mafia but he blames the conspiracy to kill the president firmly on the CIA who wanted to continue the cold war, whereas Alan Dulles and the CIA did not.
After the Shaw trial, Garrison wrote three books on the Kennedy assassination, A Heritage of Stone (1970), The Star Spangled Contract (1976, fiction, but based on the JFK assassination), and the best-seller, On The Trail of The Assassins (1988). Pastor Timothy Jones and the Shreveport Chapter of the NAACP welcomed a small crowd to the candidate forum to fill an opening in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals left by the election of Caddo Parish District Attorney James Stewart. Candidates Shonda Stone, Trina Chu and Sheva Simms all presented their qualifications and addressed a selection of questions posed in the one-hour forum.
In a prior article by Shreveport Attorney, John Settle, the race is clarified as follow:
Its rare that 2 sitting judges square off against each other for another judicial seat—but that is the case in the March 5 special election to fill the unexpired term of former Second Circuit Court of Appeals Judge James E. Stewart who resigned for his successful run for Caddo District Attorney. Caddo Juvenile Judge Shonda Stone, Shreveport City Court Judge Sheva Sims and Shreveport attorney Trina Chu are vying for this seat that has 9 years remaining in the term.
This judicial district is a minority sub district in Shreveport that encompasses most black neighborhoods with the exception of Stoner Hill. The district also includes a few white voter precincts located in southeast Shreveport around Betty Virginia Park. Stone and Sims are the obvious favorites as sitting judges and as black candidates; Chu is of Asian background, coming to America as a refugee.
Judicial campaigns are strictly regulated by the Judicial Canons of Ethics which basically only allow candidates to talk about credentials. In other words they can not point out distinctions between themselves or call out their opponents. Thus campaign materials and publicity rarely provide voters with any real criteria for making an informed decision.
To those in the “know”, i.e. court personnel, attorneys, and judges, this choice is a “no brainer”—Stone is clearly the best candidate for this position for many reasons. Stone has distinguished herself on the Caddo Juvenile bench, and is known to be a team player with all concerned in the juvenile justice system. She has a well deserved reputation for hard work on the bench, community organizations and the Louisiana Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges.
"Stone has a calm effective judicial temperament that serves her well on the bench and in the community. Stone is being hard-pressed by Sims, who has run many contested campaigns for the Shreveport City Council (unsuccessfully) and for City judge. Sims is known to be a “no holds barred” campaigner and reportedly she is spending many hours off the Shreveport city bench to campaign. Sims has a record of being tardy to court both as a practicing attorney and as judge; while on the Shreveport bench she often suspended court to pick up her children from school. Most telling on her judicial performance is the fact that Sims was suspended from the bench for 30 days by the Louisiana Supreme Court for her actions against a Shreveport city prosecutor.
As in all elections voter turnout is crucial and this will especially be the case on March 5. Also on the ballot are the Caddo Democrat and Republican Party Executive Committees as well as the state central committees for both parties which may draw some additional voter interest. Chu will probably draw a few votes, but hopefully not enough to put this election into a runoff. Stone will certainly be missed from the Caddo Juvenile Court if elected, but her presence on the Second Circuit Court will far outweigh that loss considering the negative impact of a Sim’s victory. As many lawyers have commented, Sims can do much less damage to the judicial system as a city judge than as appellate judge."

Flocks of Motorcycles Up in our neck of the woods there are some sure signs of spring. The robins return. The forsythia bushes are in bloom. And flocks of motorcycles are spotted along the highways. Yes, after being denied the pleasure of motorcycling all winter, many dormant clubs come alive in the spring. It is this yearly ritual that inspired a couple of unsavory characters to use cycling garb as a cover to pull some robberies. By committing the thefts dressed in cyclist gear as a flock of motorcycle riders comes to town, suspicion is diverted away from the real perpetrators.
