R&R may refer to:
R&R (Rare & Remixed) is a compilation made by BT. It contains various remixes of BT's songs, BT's remixes of other artists' songs, and unreleased unmixed BT songs. It is a double album, and is also BT's first compilation album, released in 2001.
R&R (also known as the "new" Radio & Records) was a weekly music trade publication that followed the radio industry and tracked the monitoring of current songs by format, station and audience cumes. The magazine was a sister publication to Billboard magazine and was mostly available through subscription to people who work in the radio industry and music chart enthusiasts, as well as various record stores and newsstands. On June 5, 2009, parent company AC Nielsen ceased operations on R&R just short of three years after acquiring the former independent trade periodical. When it ceased publication in 2009, R&R was the successor-in-interest of publications that traced their operations back to 1973.
R&R was a newly relaunched version of two different publications: Billboard Radio Monitor and Radio & Records, the latter where the R&R name was adopted from as the trade's "new" name. The move was a result of a merger between the 'original' R&R and Radio Monitor after VNU Media acquired Radio & Records on July 6, 2006.
Jain texts assign a wide range of meaning to the Sanskrit dharma or Prakrit dhamma. It is often translated as “religion” and as such, Jainism is called Jain Dharma by its adherents.
In Jainism, the word Dharma is used to refer the following:
Usage of the word dharma in reference to the religion.
According to Jain texts, Ahimsa is the greatest Dharma (अहिंसा परमॊ धर्मः [ahiṃsā paramo dharmaḥ]: "non-violence is the highest religion") and there is no religion equal to the religion of non-violence.
Jain texts prescribe meditation on twelve forms of reflection (bhāvanā) for those who wish to stop the influx of karmas that extend transmigration. One such reflection is Dharma bhāvanā-
In Jainism, the dharma (conduct or path) of the householder (Śrāvaka) is distinguished from the conduct of an ascetic. Sravaka-dharma is the religious path for the virtuous householders, where charity and worship are the primary duties. The dharma of a householders consists of observance of twelve vows i.e. five minor vows and seven disciplinary vows. Sramana-dharma is the religious path of the virtuous ascetics, where mediatation and study of scriptures is their primary duty. The religion of monks consists of five Mahavratas or great vows. They are endowed with right faith, right knowledge and right conduct and engaged in complete self-restraint and penances.
Yama or Yamarāja, also called Imra, is a god of death or underworld, belonging to an early stratum of Rigvedic deities. In Sanskrit, his name can be interpreted to mean "twin". In the Zend-Avesta of Zoroastrianism, he is called "Yima". According to the Vishnu Purana, his parents are the sun-god Surya and Sanjna, the daughter of Vishvakarman. Yama is the brother of Sraddhadeva Manu and of his older sister Yami, which Horace Hayman Wilson indicates to mean the Yamuna. According to Harivamsa Purana her name is Daya. There is a one-of-a-kind temple in Srivanchiyam, Tamil Nadu dedicated to Yama.
In the Vedas, Yama is said to have been the first mortal who died. By virtue of precedence, he became the ruler of the departed, and is called "Lord of the Pitrs".
Mentioned in the Pāli Canon of Theravada Buddhism, Yama subsequently entered Buddhist mythology in Tibetan and East Asian Buddhism as a dharmapala under various transliterations. He is otherwise also called as "Dharmaraja".
In Hinduism, Yama is the lokapala ("Guardian of the Directions") of the south and the son of Brahma. Three hymns (10, 14, and 35) in the 10th book of the Rig Veda are addressed to him. He has two dogs with four eyes and wide nostrils guarding the road to his abode (cf. hellhound). They are said to wander about among people as his messengers.
B in the Mix: The Remixes is the first remix album by American recording artist Britney Spears. It was released on November 22, 2005, by JIVE Records. The album contains remixes of tracks from her first four studio albums—...Baby One More Time (1999), Oops!... I Did It Again (2000), Britney (2001) and In the Zone (2003)—a remix of "Someday (I Will Understand)", and a new track, "And Then We Kiss". The remixes were done by DJs such as Peter Rauhofer and Stuart Price. The music was influenced by various genres of electronic music, such as ambient and techno.
Critics gave mixed reviews to the album. Some reviewers called B in the Mix: The Remixes a good remix compilation, while others argued that the album was conceived as a product and also criticized what they perceived as weak vocals. B in the Mix: The Remixes charted in countries such as Belgium, Japan, Italy and the United States, where it peaked at number four on the Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums. As of November 2007, the album had sold one million copies worldwide, making it one of the best selling remix albums of all time. It received minimal promotion by Spears' standards. "And Then We Kiss" was released as promotional single from the album in Australia and New Zealand.
Remixed is a greatest hits/remix album by dance/pop singer Amber. It was released in 2000 and has hits from the albums This Is Your Night and Amber. It also includes a new song entitled Taste The Tears. The album contains 14 songs in total with each song having two versions. The only two songs that don't have a second remix are "Colour of Love" and "One More Night".
