Fusion is a 1961 album by the Jimmy Giuffre 3.
The trio on the recording was Giuffre's second drummerless group. He said at the time that the trio was “searching for a free sense of tonality and form”.
It was remastered, remixed and re-released by ECM in 1992 as a double-album with the trio's other 1961-Verve recording, Thesis (with three previously unissued tracks from the August sessions).
Allmusic awarded the album 4 stars stating "The debut recording by Jimmy Giuffre's new trio was as startling a new development in Giuffre's music as it was in jazz... The elegance and grace of this album didn't set the American jazz world on fire as Free Fall would the next year, but it did set up further textural and architectural possibilities for the trio's next album, Thesis".
Fusion is a computer game by Bullfrog released in 1989.
It is a multi-directional scrolling shoot 'em up game (with parallax scrolling). The action is viewed from the top. The player controls either a ground-based crawler or a spacecraft. There are thirteen levels.
The game was created by Peter Molyneux and Glenn Corpes, the former doing of most of the programming and design and the latter taking care of graphics and animation. The music was written by David Hanlon.
A UK magazine gave the ST version a score of 9 out of 10, saying that despite being "yet another vertically scrolling shoot-'em-up" it has "sufficient variation".
Season one of Star Trek: Enterprise, an American television series, began airing on September 26, 2001, on UPN. The season concluded after 26 episodes on May 22, 2002. The series was developed by Rick Berman and Brannon Braga, who also served as executive producers. Season one regular cast members include Scott Bakula, Jolene Blalock, Connor Trinneer, Dominic Keating, Linda Park, Anthony Montgomery and John Billingsley.
The first two seasons of Star Trek: Enterprise depict the human exploration of interstellar space by the crew of an Earth ship able to go farther and faster than any humans had previously gone, due to the breaking of the warp barrier, analogous to the Bell X-1 breaking the sound barrier. In the ninety years since Star Trek: First Contact, the Vulcans have been mentoring and guiding humans, routinely holding back scientific knowledge in an effort to keep them contained close to home, believing them to be too impulsive and emotionally dominated to function properly in an interstellar community. When Enterprise finally sets out, the Vulcans, often represented by T'Pol, are conspicuously close by. This generates some conflict as, in several early episodes, Archer and others often complain of the Vulcans' unsubtle methods of keeping an eye on them.
Paradise (Persian: پردیس, Paradise garden) is the term for a place of timeless harmony. The Abrahamic faiths associate paradise with the Garden of Eden, that is, the perfect state of the world prior to the fall from grace, and the perfect state that will be restored in the World to Come.
Paradisaical notions are cross-cultural, often laden with pastoral imagery, and may be cosmogonical or eschatological or both, often compared to the miseries of human civilization: in paradise there is only peace, prosperity, and happiness. Paradise is a place of contentment, a land of luxury and idleness. Paradise is often described as a "higher place", the holiest place, in contrast to this world, or underworlds such as Hell. In eschatological contexts, paradise is imagined as an abode of the virtuous dead. In Christian and Islamic understanding, Heaven is a paradisaical relief. In old Egyptian beliefs, the otherworld is Aaru, the reed-fields of ideal hunting and fishing grounds where the dead lived after judgment. For the Celts, it was the Fortunate Isle of Mag Mell. For the classical Greeks, the Elysian fields was a paradisaical land of plenty where the heroic and righteous dead hoped to spend eternity. The Vedic Indians held that the physical body was destroyed by fire but recreated and reunited in the Third Heaven in a state of bliss. In the Zoroastrian Avesta, the "Best Existence" and the "House of Song" are places of the righteous dead. On the other hand, in cosmological contexts 'paradise' describes the world before it was tainted by evil.
Paradise is a ghost town in Cochise County in the U.S. state of Arizona. The town was settled in 1901 in what was then the Arizona Territory.
In 1901 the Chiricahua Development Company located a vein of ore here. A post office was established on October 23, 1901, and at its peak, the town had saloons, general stores, a jail and a hotel. The town was essentially abandoned when the local mines failed, and the post office closed on September 30, 1943. However, a few residents remained. In June 2011, there were five permanent residents and 29 standing structures when the Horseshoe 2 Fire swept through the area.
Paradise is located 5.7 miles west (up-mountain) from Portal, Arizona at 31°56′5″N 109°13′8″W / 31.93472°N 109.21889°W / 31.93472; -109.21889 (31.9348131,-109.2189503), and is surrounded by Coronado National Forest land.
A fictional town named Paradise in Arizona is the main setting of the video game Postal 2. The town is destroyed by a nuclear explosion at the end of the game. However, the town in Postal 2 is actually based on Bisbee, Arizona, as confirmed by one of the developers.
Giants can't kill ants, even if they watch they step
Reaching for the sky but your crawl to your death
You spitted gibberish, for the love of chaos
Channel FM drop, called it a Séance
Can thy weak allegories, and shotgun blast definitions
Planet Earth is too small for us, and I'm too bored to
listen to your small talk
Micky Mouse walking the kids to see the body of Tupac
Pretending we fifteen is the human to be I suppose
No one wants fire and brimstone with they gin and juice
anymore
But I come from the future with warnings
End, all relationships fixed, fast, and frozen
Unplug the speakers, if the slogans are hallow
This is a culture war, who do you want to dig your
grave for you?
You're selling piss, you say it's holy water
You hid behind your scarf, I hide behind my shadow
You call me up and say I need more gun shots on my
laptop
Even though I walked from Mecca to Toys R Us backwards
Let no flames catch on my rotting brain
They say you were the greatest playwright, but you
stole those lines
He who plays dead combs the greenest gas
That remains to be seen but I count you loosing teeth
In paradise your teeth will grow back, I promise
In paradise I'll hide my laughter, I promise
Giants can't kill ants even if they watch they step
Giants couldn't kill ants no matter how hard they tried
Tell me, what's the new "poor is cool"?, the new
Telegraph uniform
Thrift stores are out, straight jackets are the new
Naam
Putting newscasters to sleep doesn't interest
All that matters is how we look when they scatter us
Like flies in Africa, I'm loosing for a place
To rest my weary ribs, also my aging face
But the air is dry, and of the Earth there's so much
pain, and in the mountains only so much liquid
So please bleed me dry like the new sons of Wild Pitch
Or I'll be forced to join a Death Can For Cutie cover
band
In paradise your shadow itself it scares you
Over the river, the wind breaks beneath you
In paradise your name is a series of bumps, and dots,
and dashes with little to no connection to the past
In paradise, you pray someone is watching over you
In paradise, someone is indeed watching you
There's not enough electricity to dumb us all
They lock us in jars and say, "Stillness is
perfection."
There's six millions ways to be stoned in the courtyard
Do you want to be an outlaw?
We'll throw you to your in-laws
We'll throw you in the ring with the biggest robots
money could buy
This world's a child's dream, bulldozers sing for you
The cars burn themselves, and streetlight kidnap you
You hand in your medals and they melt them into bullets
and crosses
They told you you were Zeus, but you were just one of
his Goddesses
In paradise... burn victims model underwear
In paradise... there you are forced to enjoy yourself
In paradise... happiness is insanity
The worlds last polar bear gets all the oil companies
In paradise... wars are invented by our fathers
In paradise... wars are invented by our brothers
In paradise... wars are invented by our leaders
