Mega (Russian: Мега), previously known as Megasport, is a television channel in Ukraine, a member of the "Inter" TV-Family. Until 2010, it was known as "Megasport" and positioned itself as a sport channel.

«MEGA» — Belarusian musical and entertaining Internet radio station focusing mainly on club music – as trance, techno, house, electro, dubstep and musical directions adjacent by it.

The basis of broadcast forming by the most popular hits and new songs. A ratio of domestic songs to import are 50/50. Key feature of radio station is advance of young DJs and not skilled radio jockeys, it is a basis of strategy of «MEGA» Internet radio station.

History

The radio station began test broadcasts on January 28, 2012, The radio station was broadcast with faults, with often delays broadcasting of shows. During the test broadcasts is often played different music (mostly trance), with often repetitions.

The full broadcast of Internet radio station «MEGA» began February 13, 2012. Since then, the radio station increases the amount of shows and the amount of RJs and DJs. The radio starts first real time shows. As soon began full broadcasting station stops the shows from February 14, and disappear from the studio all the DJs and RJs. The radio starts to spin the music non-stop. Following this incident, the majority of employees leave the radio by their own. A week later, broadcast was restored. From this moment on the radio station canceled real time broadcasting.

WNUE-FM

WNUE-FM (98.1 FM, "Salsa 98.1") is a radio station broadcasting salsa music. Licensed to Deltona, Florida, USA, it primarily serves the Greater Orlando metropolitan area. It first began broadcasting in 1968 at 98.3 FM under the call sign WRMF-FM. The station is currently owned by Entravision Communications Corporation.

On December 1, 2010, at 3pm, WNUE changed their format from Spanish CHR as "Mega 98.1" to Spanish adult hits, branded as "Jose FM 98.1" after stunting with a continuous loop of José Feliciano's Feliz Navidad. On May 17, 2012, at 12pm, WNUE changed their format again, this time to salsa music, branded as "Salsa 98.1".

Channel (programming)

In computing, a channel is a model for interprocess communication and synchronization via message passing. A message may be sent over a channel, and another process or thread is able to receive messages sent over a channel it has a reference to, as a stream. Different implementations of channels may be buffered or not, and either synchronous or asynchronous.

Channels are fundamental to the process calculus approach to concurrency, and originated in communicating sequential processes (CSP), a formal model for concurrency, and has been used in many derived languages, such as occam, and Limbo programming language (via Newsqueak and the Alef programming language). They are also used in the C programming language threading library libthread, and in Plan 9 from Bell Labs, which uses libthread, as well as in Stackless Python and the Go programming language.

Channel implementations

Channels modeled after the CSP model are inherently synchronous: a process waiting to receive an object from a channel will block until the object is sent. This is also called rendezvous behaviour. Typical supported operations are presented below using the example of the libthread channel API.

Channel (digital image)

Color digital images are made of pixels, and pixels are made of combinations of primary colors represented by a series of code. A channel in this context is the grayscale image of the same size as a color image, made of just one of these primary colors. For instance, an image from a standard digital camera will have a red, green and blue channel. A grayscale image has just one channel.

Overview

In the digital realm, there can be any number of conventional primary colors making up an image; a channel in this case is extended to be the grayscale image based on any such conventional primary color. By extension, a channel is any grayscale image the same size with the "proper" image, and associated with it.

"Channel" is a conventional term used to refer to a certain component of an image. In reality, any image format can use any algorithm internally to store images. For instance, GIF images actually refer to the color in each pixel by an index number, which refers to a table where three color components are stored. However, regardless of how a specific format stores the images, discrete color channels can always be determined, as long as a final color image can be rendered.

Octophonic sound

Octophonic sound is a form of audio reproduction that presents eight discrete audio channels using eight speakers. For playback, the speakers may be positioned in a circle around the listeners or in any other configuration. "Typical arrangements are eight spaced on a circle by 45° (oriented with first speaker 0° or at 22.5°), or the vertices of a cube to bring in a double quadraphonic set-up with elevation" (Collins 2010, 60). In reference to his own work, Karlheinz Stockhausen made a distinction between these two forms, reserving the term "octophonic" for the arrangement in a cube, as found in his Oktophonie and the electronic music for scene 2 and the Farewell of Mittwoch aus Licht, and using the expression "eight-channel sound" for the circular arrangement, as used in Sirius, Unsichtbare Chöre, or Hours 13 to 21 of the Klang cycle (Stockhausen 1993, 150; Stockhausen 2000, 60). While quadraphonic sound uses four speakers positioned in a square at the four corners of the listening space (either on the ground or raised above the listeners), this cubical kind of octophonic spatialization allows not only front-back and left-right "surround sound", but also up-down and diagonal movements—a 3D spatialization of sound. In order for such movement in space to be heard, it is necessary that rhythms be slow, and pitches change mainly in small steps or in glissandos (Stockhausen 1993, 151, 163).
