Cowboy Mouth is a rock band based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Their name usually means "One with a loud and raucous voice". The nucleus of the band formed in the 1990s, and they have become a powerhouse live act whose performances have been likened to "a religious experience."
Some of their most popular songs include "Love Of My Life", "Everybody Loves Jill" (where the audience throws red spoons on stage), "Easy," "Disconnected," "How Do You Tell Someone," and "Jenny Says." They also perform a version of "Born to Run" on the Light of Day tribute album to Bruce Springsteen, a version of "The Pusher" on the soundtrack to Half Baked, and several of their own songs on the soundtrack to the 1995 film The Underneath (two of which they perform onscreen in the film). Their single "This Much Fun" from their 2006 album "Voodoo Shoppe" is featured in the trailer for the Disney animated feature Meet the Robinsons.
Kelly Maria Ripa (born October 2, 1970) is an American actress, talk show host, and television producer. Ripa, who played Hayley Vaughan on the television soap opera All My Children from 1990–2002, is best known as host of the popular syndicated morning talk show Live! with Kelly. Additionally, Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos own a New York based production company, Milojo.
In 2012, The Hollywood Reporter named her one of the Most Powerful People in Media.
Ripa was born in Stratford, New Jersey, the daughter of Esther, a homemaker, and Joseph Ripa, a labor-union president and bus driver. She has a younger sister, Linda, who is a children's book author. She is of Italian and Irish descent. Her father has been the Democratic County Clerk for Camden County, New Jersey since June 2009. She is the first in her family to enter the acting profession. She has studied ballet since age three, plays the piano, and, in her words, is "no Barbra Streisand," but can carry a tune.
Ripa graduated from Eastern High School in Voorhees Township, New Jersey, where she became a cheerleader and was later encouraged by her drama teacher to pursue acting. "I owe so much of my career to Jim Beckley," she said. "He thought I was a natural performer and so he gave me the lead in the next show." She starred in local theatre productions and was discovered while performing in the comedy play The Ugly Duckling (c. 1941), by A.A. Milne, during her senior year. She attended Camden County College studying psychology, but dropped out and moved to New York City to be an actress.
John Graham Mellor (21 August 1952 – 22 December 2002), best remembered by his stage name Joe Strummer, was an English musician who was the co-founder, lyricist, rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist of the British punk rock band The Clash. His musical experience included his membership of The 101ers, Latino Rockabilly War, The Mescaleros and The Pogues, in addition to his own solo music career. Strummer's work as a musician allowed him to explore other interests, which included acting, creating film scores for television and movies, songwriting, radio broadcasting, and a position as a radio host. Strummer is one of the iconic figures of the British punk movement.
Strummer and The Clash were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in January 2003. In his remembrance, Strummer's friends and family have established the Strummerville Foundation for the promotion of new music, and each year there are many festivals and both organised and spontaneous ceremonies worldwide to celebrate his memory.

Cowboy G-Men CENTER FIRE
...and after a many summer dies the swan
It withers slowly in thine arms
All night long amorous anthems sung
It's tears on your cheek, history of the fan
Sweet is the breath of night
with charm of earliest birds
Close over us, the silver star, thy guide
Dying embers, our only light
(scorching away mortality
Till the moon rising in clouded majesty)
But see the many-coloured prime retired to rest
Thy long tongued blood demands supplies
Honour and beauty are but dreams
Big alike with wound and dart
Like fiery dews that melt
the swan's soul into the boughs does glide
Flaming swords forbidden
They banish me from you
Remembrance of a bitter loss
Ruined love, when it's built anew
grows fairer, more strong, far greater
While glory crowns so many hatreds crest
Waking, thou wert in thy nakedness
...and after a many summer dies the swan
Day-In Day-Out
Stay-In Fade-Out
Day-In Oo Oo
Day-Out Oo Oo Oo
She was born in a handbag
Love left
on a doorstep
What she lacks is a backup
Nothing seems to make a dent
Gonna find her some money honey
Try to pay her rent
That's the kind of protection everyone is shouting about
[CHORUS]
Day-In Day-Out
Stay-In Fade-Out
Day-In Oo Oo
Day-Out Oo Oo Oo
First thing she learns is
she's a citizen
Some things they turn out right
When you're under the USA
Something rings a bell
and it's all over
She's going out her way
Stealing for that one good rush
Day-In Day-Out
Stay-In Fade-Out
She could use a little money
She's hangin' on his arms
like a cheap suit
She's got no money, honey
She's on the other side
Oh come on little baby
Late night, big town,
police, shake down
Oo Oo
Oo Oo
Day-In Day-Out
Stay-In Fade-Out
Oo Oo
Oo Oo
Day-In Day-Out
Stay-In Fade-Out
She's got a ticket to nowhere
She's gonna take a train ride
Nobody knows her, or knows her name
She's in the pocket of a home boy
Oo she's gonna take her a shotgun Pow
Spin the grail spin the drug
She's gonna make them well aware
She's an angry gal
Day-In Day-Out
Stay-In Fade-Out
Suddenly there's angels everywhere
Angels in a ton of sound
And they shootin' her down
Shootin her with video-drugs-bullets and promises
[First (only) Verse:]
I'm a nigga from the third with a helluva nerve,
And if you cross my line then you will get served,
I win, lose, or die this happens everyday,
Muthafuckas get killed in this game I play
I put these hands on a nigga cuz he talk too much,
He told my business to a bitch, I had to fuck him up
When I confronted this nigga, he got highly upset,
Took off his shirt, booted up, then looked down to my chest,
So I slammed his ass, the nigga started to kick,
I went to stompin' in his face, fuckin' up his shit,
Gave him a good ass whippin', then I started to steppin',
I saw him reachin' in his pants, I seen he was stressin',
The niggas was stuntin', but I had mine,
Five times through the chest, family outside cryin',
On the way back home, I saw this sharp ass lady,
Polo down, hair fixed, and some gold earrings,
I asked just where she's headed, she said '7th Ward',
Release the fine bitch out the St. Bernard,
She hopped in the ride, I take the hoe to Popeye's,
Got a three piece white, cold drink, and small fries
The hoe got full, we went to the Rochambeaux,
Took off her clothes and bust three nuts and after that I was through,
Took her halfway home and told the bitch 'Get on',
Didn't give a fuck about her cuz I gave her the bone,
Everyday somebody else will get, hung by the gaffler,
Niggas roll down the ave., cuz I'm the neighborhood amp,
Fuckin' around with the Juvenile and you get your brains blown out,
Cuz that's what livin' all up the project is all about
Gazing out the window of some big girder bird
Down on mother nature's face, torn-up twisted absurd
I wondered what the chances were that you
Were down there looking up at me
CHORUS
Ah, we're as silly as geography
Silly as geography
You and me
We just can't get it right
You're a function of my latitude
Let's end our little warring feud
How I wish you would come home
Or I'll come there to you
CHORUS
People will tell you what to do, where your head should be
They don't tell me nothing I ain't already heard before or better said
We all want focus, we crave company but
We're cross-eyed and punchdrunk from too much scenery
From our battles with geography
CHORUS
We're a lot like real estate
But the state you're in is never real
It's one helluva rare raw deal
How I wish you would return
We're silly as geography
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Turn off your mind, relax
And float down stream
It is not dying
It is not dying
Lay down all thought
Surrender to the void
It is shining
It is shining
That you may see
The meaning of within
It is being
It is being
That love is all
And love is everyone
It is knowing
It is knowing
That ignorance and hate
May mourn the dead
It is believing
It is believing
But listen to the
Color of your dreams
It is not living
It is not living
Or play the game
Existence to the end
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
I got no reason for the things I fear
The things that plague me when I see and hear
A dime's a nickel and a nickel's none
I'll throw myself into the Sunday sun
A summer Sunday when you went insane
You said you're going but I said I came
I'm throwing oranges in an apple cart
The ties that bind are tearing me apart
Jenny says, turn off the radio
Jenny says, turn off the lights
Jenny says, turn off the video
You beat yourself up to bring yourself down
Let it go, let it go, let it go
Let it go, let it go, let it go
When the world is coming down on me
I let it go
I got no reason for the things I say
She turned toward me then she turned away
There's lots of forces in a modern world
That take their toll upon a modern girl
I got no reason for the things I fear
The things that plague me when I see and hear
I'll press my finger on an itchy trigger
What once was small right now is so much bigger
Jenny says, turn off the radio
Jenny says, turn off the lights
Jenny says, turn off the video
You beat yourself up to bring yourself down
Let it go, let it go, let it go
Let it go, let it go, let it go
When the world is coming down on me
I let it go
I got no reason for the things I do
The dealer deals and then the dealer's screwed
You throw your cards upon a playing table
My name is Scain and I am now unable
I got no reason for the things I fear
The things that plague me when I see and hear
A dime's a nickel, a nickel's none
I'll throw myself into the Sunday sun
Jenny says, turn off the radio
Jenny says, turn off the lights
Jenny says, turn off the video
You beat yourself up 'cause you love it
Let it go, let it go, let it go
Let it go, let it go, let it go
When the world is coming down on me
I let it go
Let it go, let it go, let it go
Let it go, let it go, let it go
When the world is coming down on me
I let it go
I let it go, let it go, let it go
There's a window by the bedroom door
That never will be opened
If you spend the whole day looking out
And never look within
And your lover and your mother
And your father have been hopin'
That you find the truths
You're looking for
By searching deep within
So sad about me?
I'm sad about you
There's a reason why the sunrise sets
And friends and loved ones leave us
There's a method to the madness
Like a future to your past
And your lover and your brother
And your sister should believe us
Cause the mysteries beyond our reach
Are firmly in our grasp
Anything is possible
In the morning when you wake yourself
You wonder what you're doing
As you rub your eyes so violently
While falling out of bed
Is there nothing educational
In words that you are chewing
As you seek the soothing solace
Of a friendly shower head
But I really must admit that
I am glad that I am living
There were times when I
Would pray to God
And ask that I was not
And I've learned that taking
Isn't really half as much as giving
But the secret to your wisdom
Slow dancing moving to the rhythm
Of my anger written in stone
There's no reason nobody needs to know
Souls meeting somewhere in the distance
There's no rain or chill in the air
I feel something you always said was there
I'll be waiting when the storm is over
I'll be waiting when the fever is high
Share your anger but swear that you'll never
Take it out on me, let me see you smile
Let me hear you scream for a little while
Don't take it out on me 'cause there's nobody else around
Heart's beating flowing like a river
Your safe opening's close to the door
If you feel trouble you don't have to stay no more
Old passions rising to the surface
I look towards the day I was born, I'm so torn
I'll be waiting when the storm is over
I'll be waiting when the fever is high
Share your anger but swear that you'll never
Take it out on me, let me see you smile
Let me hear you scream for a little while
Don't take it out on me 'cause there's nobody else around
I'll be waiting when the storm is over
I'll be waiting till the fever is high
Share your anger but swear that you'll never
Take it out on me, let me see you smile
Let me hear you scream for a little while
Don't take it out on me, 'cause there's nobody else around
Take it out on me, take it out on me, take it out on me
Slow dancing moving to the rhythm
(Take it out on me)
Of my anger written in stone
(Take it out on me)
There's no reason nobody needs to know
(Take it out on me)
Take it out on me, take it out on me, take it out on me
Take it out on me, take it out on me, take it out on me
the love of my life is a shady lady
tearin me up just to bring me down
she used to be calm but now she's crazy
i dont mind
tearin like a jungle monkey
cuttin me up like a jungle cat
she used to be fine but now she's funky
i don't mind
she's not the love of my life anymore
the love of my life takes my lunch to breakfast
nary a thought that a man might starve
she used to smoke dope but now she's x-ing
i don't mind
tearing me down like a full length mirror
praying for death as her beauty fades
she'll go anywhere any man will lead her
i don't mind
she's not the love of my life anymore
i hurt, you walk
there aint no looking for an answer
when the question's come and gone
i'll stay, you'll go
there aint no hoping for tomorrow
so i'll pack up all my sorrow
and find some hope that i can borrow
i'm just trying to save my sanity and my soul (x2)
the love of my life is a shady lady
tearin me up just to bring me down
she used to be calm but now she's crazy
i dont mind
Thirty years of walking a beat down and dirty from all that he's seen
protect and serve then turn in your gun now your serving days are done.
There goes the peacemaker
there goes a live wire
there goes the peacemaker
an ex-policeman and a friend of mine
His whole life was never bringing it home
dealt with murder and fear on his own
worked out of love and worked out of rage
getting shot at for minimum wage
There goes the peacemaker
there goes a live wire
there goes the peacemaker
an ex-policeman and a friend of mine
He clings to his wife and kids revolver to reviver
He's always teaching them that love creates surviviors
He and his girl are seeing the world just like it's always meant to be done. He sees her and she sees him, all the rest is decoration
There goes the peacemaker
there goes a live wire
there goes the peacemaker
an ex-policeman and a friend of mine.
An ex-policeman and a friend of mine
An ex-policeman and a friend of mine
There goes the peacemaker
there goes a live wire
there goes the peacemaker

Let it go, let it go, let it go
When the world is coming down on me
I let it go
I let it go, let it go, let it go
The Texas sun beats down upon me
Like the Devil's smile
I'd rather be anywhere else than here
Was it a blinding lack of subtlety
Or just a lack of style
Responding to the ways and means of fear?
CHORUS:
Take me back to New Orleans
And drop me at my door
'Cause I might love you, yeah,
But I love me more
VERSE 2:
My fingertips are bitten
'Til there's nothing left but skin
I'd rather be anyone else right now
The light that shone within my eyes
Is slowly growing dim
She told me where, told me when,
But never said how
CHORUS:
Take me back to New Orleans
And don't call me anymore
'Cause I might love you, yeah,
But I love me more
BRIDGE:
(She said) How can I make this unhappen?
(I said) You cannot make this unhappen
Choose before your choices fade away
(She said) I could be home by tomorrow
(She said) If I could beg, steal, or borrow
I said you're there, you might as well stay
VERSE 3:
The morning mist arises
Through another crack in the glass
The lack of sleep has made me numb
But sometimes when she sleeps
She'll turn and she'll whisper his name
That cake must taste great
But I'll pass when you offer me some
CHORUS:
Take me back to New Orleans
And drop me at my door
'Cause I might love you, yeah,
But I love me more
END CHORUS:
Take me back to New Orleans
And don't call me anymore
'Cause I might love you, yeah
I might love you, yeah
I might love you, yeah,
But I love me more
I love me more
I should have known there'd be danger
When I saw your face in the crowd
Now I'm trying to work past my anger
I should know better by now
I used to believe in the love songs
That took me so long to write down
Every word you say takes my breath away
But I should know better by now
Chorus:
I know your sorrow
But everybody's tasted pain
I've known your sorrow
Since God makes the rain
I see tomorrow
When everybody tries again
I see tomorrow
When God makes the rain 2x
I used to believe in the spirits
That turned all your words into sound
But I was your walk on the wild side
I should know better by now
If you see me looking for something
Or someone who'll never be found
When I look your way
Turn your eyes astray
'Cause I should know better by now
Chorus
I used to hold my fury
Keep it bottled tight
And wrestle with the consequences
Each and every night
But if I put my faith in someone who was only trying to bring me down
I wouldn't stand, where I am standing now
I should have known there'd be danger
When I saw your face in the crowd
Every word you say takes my breath away
But I should know better by now
Chorus.
well i stare at the hole in my hands
and i watch you slip away
and i feel if i'd only done better than maybe i could make you stay
and i stare at the hole in my hands
and i can't remember things i say
hour to hour, sentence to sentence, day to day
well i could but i don't
and i should but i won't
it's laughable
there's an empty space in my bed
my bed's too big these days
even as i hold you i'm letting you go somewhere far away
there's an empty space in my heart
when my friends say, "boy, now you're free"
cause freedom's not a ring around your finger
i can tell 'em its a memory
well i could but i don't
and i should but i won't
it's laughable
having to tell someone good bye
having to find a place to hide
when all you feel these days is empty inside
well i remember the last time we met
you held a stranger's hand
you introduced him to me and said, "can we try and be friends?"
well i could but i don't
and i should but i won't
My eyelids said 4: 30
But the radio clock said 6: 00
And I was thinking of a reasonable excuse
I might have slept til yesterday
But in the shape I'm in
What's 24 hours more or less
To lose?
I burned up letters and I burned up souvineers
And left no traces, Lord, that I was ever here
And I won't be Louisiana Lowdown and Blue
Yeah
Phone rings after breakfast
I swallow hard when I Hear "guess who"
I say "oh No!" and the caller hangs up
I think I need a shower
But I really want a beer
And I remember a dream I had and laugh to myself
I burned up letters and I burned up souvineers
And left no traces, Lord, that I was ever here
And I won't be Louisiana Lowdown and Blue
And Blue
I saw a stranger smiling at me yesterday
And it scared me almost half to death
I wanted to hide I wanted to run away from her
Instead I closed my eyes and she wasn't there
Somewhere in the French Quater
In the winter of last year
Down in the square dripped chili on myself
So headed home and heard the sound
Of heaven in my ears
Turned and saw a woman singing about jesus
I burned up letters and I burned up souvineers
And left no traces, Lord, that I was ever here
And I won't be Louisiana Lowdown, And I won't be Louisiana Lowdownand Blue
And I won't be Louisiana Lowdown And Blue
And Blue
And Blue
And Blue
And Blue
It's four a.m.,
i'm drunk and alone
trying to call you
on a public phone
i wanted passion,
i wanted desire
my heart is a flame that pains me
if i do not light it on fire
I'm the perfect picture
of a perfect fool
you're out doing
what i wanted you to
i'm in the heartbreak hotel
and there's a desk clerk for hire
my heart is a flame that pains me
if i do not light it in fire
How can i tell you
just how it feels
how do you make love stay
and how do you know
if what's staying is real
I was the one
full of whiskey and talk
i was the one
with the skip in his walk
you say the truth hurts,
yeah well, so does a liar
my heart is a flame that pains me
Verse 1:
i've got the desert in my eyes
and the western skies on my mind
everywhere i look i see
wide open country for miles
out in the distance,
a mountain the size of the sun
i ain't drivin' nowhere,
i feel like a man on the run
get gone!
Verse2:
adobe and teardrops are
all i'm leavin' behind
i'm somewhere in texas,
i'm lost and i don't see the signs
in a bar in new mexico,
an old man sells me a gun
but i ain't shootin' no one
i feel like a man on the run
that's right
i feel like a man on the ruuuuuuuuunnn...
Whooaaa, try to catch me
whooaaa, i just gotta be free, free, free
whooaaa, try to catch me
whooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaa
Verse3:
from san bernardino, you can see
the lights of la.
the closer they get,
the further they're slippin' away
i can almost feel
the redemption forgiveness becomes
but i can't forgive anyone,
i feel like a man on the run
that's right
i feel like a man on the ruuuuuuunnnnnnnn...
I can't forgive anyone,
i won't forgive anyone,
and i don't forgive anyone,
Never saw it coming
can't believe everything he said to you
getting hurt is nothing new
it's something that we sometimes do
Put away your sorrow
try your best to try to find yourself again
you might be scared to start, but then
beginnings only come from ends
[chorus]
if i could breathe your breath
if i could hold your smile
if i could dry your eyes
if only for a little while
then you might see me here
hoping to hold your hand
waiting to be your world
marianne
He never did deserve to find the joy
growing in your secret heart
a life within i did not start
the kind of love that can't be bought
Ya gotta keep believing
all the things that make you who you want to be
the part of you the world can't see
the part of you that sets you free
[chorus]
So if you need to take all the time to
discover who is waiting behind you
i'm right here behind you
[chorus]
You say you need excitement in your life
That I am just a sweater that you wear from time to time
Excitement leads to heartache leads to strife
While sweaters keep you warm against the coldness of the world
What do you get each time you say goodbye
When the indifference of tomorrow is the hatred of today
Should I break down or should I dare to try
When you're so quiet, so quiet, so God damn quiet
He don't know you like I know you
He can't see you like I do
Yet he don't want you like I want you
He don't need you like I do
I bet he's never known the ways of love
You say it doesn't matter anymore
The way I felt but never said, the way you said you felt
My feelings for you burden like a chore
Tomorrows always go too fast, but yesterday's too soon
What do you get each time you say goodbye
When the indifference of tomorrow is the hatred of today
Should I break down or should I dare to try
When you're so quiet, so quiet, so God damn quiet
He don't know you like I know you
He can't see you like I do
Yet he don't want you like I want you
He don't need you like I do
Yet he don't love you like I love you
He can't see you like I do
I bet he's never known the ways of love
I'll swear he's never known the ways of love
I wake up
Start the coffee
Though you wont be up for hours
Fetch the morning paper
Lay them both out like theyre hearts and flowers
And when you finish what I made you
Read the articles I saved you
I tell you that I couldnt sleep
Wondering if you still love me
Slow down
Slow down
Slow down
So we can speed up
Slow down
Slow down
Slow down
Slow down
On my tiptoes round the house
I tried my best to not disturb you
Quiet as a drunken mouse
Amuse myself until Ive heard you
Then listen as ya brush your teeth
Wash your face turn on the TV
Till I think the moments right
To try and talk about last night
Slow down
Slow down
Slow down
So we can speed up
Slow down
Slow down
Slow down
I just need my pics of you
It fills the holes inside of me
'cause whiskey, pot and pills dont make me
Feel so high, feel so free
Its what you do to me
Try to make it through the day
Chasin all the same old ghosts
Has my fear become a drag 'cause
Thats the thing I fear the most
You run your fingers
Through my hair
A thousand things that show you care
But sadness is my worst addiction
My head is filled with fact less fiction
Slow down
Slow down
Slow down
So we can speed up
Slow down
Slow down
Slow down
Slow down
Slow down
Slow down
So we can speed up
Slow down
Slow down
Slow down
Slow down
Slow
I've been waiting for you to wake up
And realize I was the one
You've been waiting for me to break up
With you so we could be done
I've been working on something different
That only we could enjoy
But you've been working for something different
That only you could destroy
Can't you see the waves crash over your shoulders?
Can't you see the sunshine here in my eyes?
I don't wanna hear you talking
Or fear you when you're stalking
You can watch me walking
'Cause I'm so much better than that
Hear me saying I'm not participating
All the games you're playing
'Cause I'm so much better than that
Nananana nanananana nanananananana
I've been hoping that you would save me
So I could stand and be strong
But you've been hoping to drive me crazy
To tell them all I was wrong
I'm never gonna take this anymore
I will not take your hatred anymore
So you can have your hurt and wear it like a crown
I don't wanna hear you talking
Or fear you when you're stalking
You can watch me walking
'Cause I'm so much better than that
Hear me saying I'm not participating
All the games you're playing
'Cause I'm so much better than that
Nananana nanananana nanananananana, yeah
Nananana nanananana nanananananana, yeah
I don't wanna hear you talking
Fear you when you're stalking
You can watch me walking
'Cause I'm so much better than that
Hear me saying I'm not participating
All the games you're playing
'Cause I'm so much
I don't wanna hear you talking
Or fear you when you're stalking
You can watch me walking
'Cause I'm
Looked Like A Women
There was a girl uptown, she kept her lights down low.
She kept her breasts taped down, so they did not show.
She had a daytime job, she had a daytime name.
But her nightlife baby was a different game.
Never the kind to wear a thrift store dress, she did it better in a suit and vest.
She looked like a woman but dressed like a man. looked like a woman but dressed like a man. She looked like a woman but dressed like a man. Looked like a woman.
Well I was checking her out, (checking her out), I saw she had no purse.
And though I had my doubts, I knew I had done worse.
She had a daytime job, she had a daytime name.
But her nightlife baby was a different game.
We kept drinkin' till we both got drunk, then I started sayin' t I really thunk.
She looked like a woman but dressed like a man. looked like a woman but dressed like a man. She looked like a woman but dressed like a man. Looked like a woman.
She had muscles and a crew cut.
She had shoes like mine.
She had a way with a pool cue.
She had a pick-up line.
I guess we closed that joint, and then she took me home.
And tried to make her point with a doggy bone.
I knew that runnin' was a thing to do, but stayed and finished until I saw it through.
She looked like a woman but dressed like a man. looked like a woman but dressed like a man. She looked like a woman but dressed like a man. looked like a woman but dressed like a man. She looked like a woman but dressed like a man. looked like a woman but dressed like a man. She looked like a woman but dressed like a man. looked like a woman but dressed like a man.
Looked like a woman. looked like a women x4
But she dressed like a man
I should have known there'd be danger
When I saw your face in the crowd
Now I'm trying to work past my anger
I should know better by now
I used to believe in the love songs
That took me so long to write down
Every word you say takes my breath away
But I should know better by now
Chorus:
I know your sorrow
But everybody's tasted pain
I've known your sorrow
Since God makes the rain
I see tomorrow
When everybody tries again
I see tomorrow
When God makes the rain 2x
I used to believe in the spirits
That turned all your words into sound
But I was your walk on the wild side
I should know better by now
If you see me looking for something
Or someone who'll never be found
When I look your way
Turn your eyes astray
'Cause I should know better by now
Chorus
I used to hold my fury
Keep it bottled tight
And wrestle with the consequences
Each and every night
But if I put my faith in someone who was only trying to bring me down
I wouldn't stand, where I am standing now
I should have known there'd be danger
When I saw your face in the crowd
Every word you say takes my breath away
But I should know better by now
Chorus.
God makes the rain -repeated
Here I sit in prison
Guilty of a crime
Yes it's true I killed a man
But it was justified
Yes he was a friend of mine
He came into my home
Made off with my woman
And he left me here alone
Yipee-I-Yay
Yipee-I-Yo
Damn these iron bars are cold
Yipee-I-Yay
Yipee-I-Yo
Here in prison I'll grow old
Here I sit in prison
She often visits me
Tells me that she's sorry
She wishes I were free
Said she never loved him
Only wished I'd stayed
Wish she would stop talkin
Wish she'd go away
Yipee-I-Yay
Yipee-I-Yo
Damn these iron bars are cold
Yipee-I-Yay
Yipee-I-Yo
Here in prison I'll grow old
Here I sit in prison
I don't give a damn
Shoot the bastard over
If they gave me half a chance
Only wished for one thing
Only wish instead
I had kept on shootin'
Until both of them were dead
Yipee-I-Yay
Yipee-I-Yo
Damn these iron bars are cold
Yipee-I-Yay
Yipee-I-Yo
Here in prison I'll grow old
Yipee-I-Yay
Yipee-I-Yo
Damn these iron bars are c-c-cold
Yipee-I-Yay
Yipee-I-Yo
Here in prison I'll grow old
I said damn these iron bars are cold
Here in prison I'll grow - old
Maggie, Maggie don't two-step
Maggie, Maggie don't two-step
Maggie, Maggie don't two-step
Maggie don't two-step no more.
Baby, baby got done wrong.

Maggie, Maggie don't two-step
Maggie, Maggie don't two-step
Maggie don't two-step no more.
Now I'm standin' in the middle of the dance floor
Standin' in the middle of the dance floor
Standin' in the middle of the dance floor
Maggie don't two-step no more.
Maggie, Maggie don't two-step
Maggie, Maggie don't two-step
Maggie, Maggie don't two-step
Maggie don't two-step no more.
Maggie, je ne pas fais bal,
Maggie, je ne pas fais bal,
Maggie, je ne pas fais bal,
Maggie don't two-step no more.
Maggie, Maggie don't two-step
Maggie, Maggie don't two-step
Maggie, Maggie don't two-step
Maggie don't two-step no more.
Maggie, Maggie don't two-step
Maggie, Maggie don't two-step
Maggie, Maggie don't two-step
Maggie don't two-step no more.
It's hard in St. Bernard there's tears in Algiers
If you're calling for New Orleans
There's nobody here
So fix yourself a drink
Pack your things and go
Last one out turn off the lights and board up the doors
I want to go home whatever it takes
I want to go home when the levee breaks
I want to go home where the streets have holes
I want to go home where the good times roll
The Ninth Ward's disappeared the Treme's overflowed
It's Dante's Inferno
In the Superdome
The inhumanity of this insanity
Could have been prevented
Oh so easily
My heart is heavy feet everywhere it seems
This time even fats ain't walking back to New Orleans
I want to go home whatever it takes
I want to go home when the levee breaks
I want to go home where the streets have holes
I want to go home where the good times roll
The world is gonna pay 'cause we'll be everywhere
There'll be dancing in your streets
Music in your air
But when that water starts to fall you won't see us around
Unles you're buying drinks for us in our home town
I want to go home whatever it takes
I want to go home when the levee breaks
I want to go home where the streets have holes
I want to go home where the good times roll
Once I had it all,
I held your heart & soul between my fingers
Now I've learned to crawl
It's something that I swore I'd never do
If I say nothing, you say nothing
Gold will turn to rust
'cause if I say nothing
Then there's only one of us
I tried to say your name
It only seems to end my conversation
Let's not play this game
'cause neither one of us has the strength
If you show nothing, I show nothing
Friendship turns to dust
'cause if you show nothing
Then there's only one of us
Then there's only one of us
You say you never tried
If seeing is believing, baby can you see me now
& if I say I never lied
Baby does it look like I'm laghin'
I wish I'd never seen your smile
You say I never cried
If you show nothing, I show nothing
Friendship turns to dust
'cause if you show nothing
Then there's only one of us
If I say nothing, you say nothing
No one learns to trust
'cause if I say nothing
Then there's only one of us
