Nancy Drew's got her surrogate mum in the form of Emmy winner Debra Monk.
The Mozart in the Jungle actress will play Hannah Gruen in CBS's drama pilot Drew, according to Deadline.
The modern TV update will follow teenage detective Nancy all grown up and in her 30s - played by Person of Interest's Sarah Shahi - earning her living as an NYPD detective and using her uncanny observational skills to crack cases.
When Nancy moved out, former servant Hannah trained as a paralegal and now works for Nancy's dad.
Drew, based on the Nancy Drew book series, is executive produced by Joan Rater, Tony Phelan and Dan Jinks. James Strong is directing.
Vanessa Ferlito, Felix Solis and Steve Kazee have also been cast, while Anthony Edwards is playing Nancy's father Carson.
Monk is known for recurring roles in Damages (as Ellen Parsons's mum) and Grey's Anatomy (as George O'Malley's mum).
