John Mallory Asher (born January 13, 1971) is an American actor, film director and screenwriter. He is perhaps best known for his performance as Gary on the USA Networks' series spinoff of the movie Weird Science.
Asher was born John Mallory in Los Angeles, California, to actor, Edward Mallory and actress Joyce Bulifant. He was adopted by Bulifant's third husband, producer/director William Asher.
Asher married actress Jenny McCarthy on September 11, 1999. Their son Evan Joseph Asher was born on May 18, 2002, and was diagnosed with autism. They divorced in September 2005.
Jenny McCarthy and her producer husband, John Mallory Asher, have a fun chat with Bruce W. Cook "The Interviews". Bruce asks the questions you would want to ask, while Jenny gets into talking about her former eyebrow raising choices, no regrets, show business and loving her life as a Mom. John smiles with a lot to say about marriage, being the best Dad, daily antics, and of course Hollywood. Must say, I was surprised to feel immediately very comfortable the moment our crew walked in the door of their lovely home. Both John and Jenny's gracious and earthy demeanor had us all feeling like we were there for a fun-loving get together. Vicki Miko

Just three years ago the prospect of finding temperate, rocky worlds around other stars was still the subject of science fiction: none had been found and reasonable estimates put us years or decades away from such a momentous discovery. All of that has changed very recently on the heels of the extraordinarily successful NASA Kepler mission. By searching for the tiny diminutions of starlight indicative of an eclipsing planet, Kepler has produced thousands of new planet candidates orbiting distant stars. Careful statistical analyses have shown that the majority of these candidates are bona fide planets, and the number of planets increases sharply toward Earth-sized bodies. Even more remarkably, many of these planets are orbiting stars right “next door.” Professor Johnson describe the multi-t...
