One tiny marine plant makes life on Earth possible: phytoplankton. These microscopic photosynthetic drifters form the basis of the marine food web, they regulate carbon in the atmosphere, and are responsible for half of the photosynthesis that takes place on this planet. Earths climate is changing at an unprecedented rate, and as our home planet warms, so does the ocean. Warming waters have big consequences for phytoplankton and for the planet.

Marine phytoplankton are found in oceans throughout the world and are responsible for much of the atmosphere’s oxygen. Scientific research suggests that these nomadic microorganisms also hold a wealth of health advantages for the human race. Modern day ailments like cardiovascular disease, cancer and autoimmune disorders have driven researchers back to the world’s watery depths, from where life first sprang, to look for solutions. Marine phytoplankton are not an artificial creation, but rather, the very foundation upon which all biological life is built.
What are Marine Phytoplankton?
Marine phytoplankton are composed of various single cell organisms that grow in communities found in the world’s oceans. These communities generate living energy via photosynthesis, which is the process of converting sunlight and carbon dioxide into vital nutrients and energy. Because these organisms are the very basis of life on this planet, it only makes sense to investigate the unique health benefits provided by them.
Why “Regular” Food is Not Enough
A well-balanced and nutritious diet is the best way to maintain physical and mental well-being. Land-based agriculture certainly helps fulfill some of the body’s nutritional requirements; however, mineral depletion of the soil, pollution and pesticides strip food of its original nutritional benefits. Many foods like milk are pasteurized, leading to destruction of important enzymes and vitamins. In contrast, marine phytoplankton that are naturally harvested from the sea are not subjected to any additional processing. This ensures that all the original vitamins and minerals produced within these tiny organisms stay intact.
What are just some of the many nutrients found in marine phytoplankton?:
Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids (for brain function and mental clarity)
Essential amino acids (muscle growth and maintenance)
Vitamins A, B1, B3, B5, B6, B12 (eyesight, nerve function and repair)
Selenium (antioxidant enzyme function)
Molybdenum (enzyme function)
Chlorophyll (digestion regulator)
Superoxide dismutase (free radical scavenger and anti-oxidant)
The Main Benefits of Marine Phytoplankton
Studies have shown that a diet that is supplemented with marine phytoplankton encourages optimal liver function, stabilizes blood sugar levels and helps relieve joint pain and stiffness. Hypothyroidism, a condition of the thyroid that leads to obesity and lethargy, is often reversed by the addition of marine phytoplankton to the diets of those afflicted with this problem. Marine phytoplankton have also been reported to reduce cholesterol levels, a key factor in cardiovascular and heart disease. Some people even report a clearing up of pernicious skin conditions such as acne.
Because marine phytoplankton contain many vital trace minerals that are essential to the production of brain neuroChemicals such as dopamine and serotonin, people who have struggled with chronic depression often report an alleviation of their condition after taking this supplement. A pilot study conducted at the University of Utah on subjects who were regularly taking liquid marine phytoplankton indicated significant improvements in the subjects’ Authentic Happiness Inventory scores, including those for good mood, ability to focus, and feelings of joy, pride, enthusiasm and personal success. These data clearly indicate that marine phytoplankton form the basis of complete nutrition and provide numerous health benefits that are only beginning to be discovered.

After hearing the story of the Man and the Sea ... Tom Harper, I wanted to know more about Marine Phytoplankton ...
It is the MOST powerful and essential food on Earth.
Considered nature’s “superfood”, marine phytoplankton is a whole food source that naturally contains a full spectrum of amino acids, trace minerals, vitamins, enzymes, micronutrients, essential fatty acids, and antioxidants.
Order products like 'PURE' that include the exclusive formula of Tom's Marine Phytoplankton along with more information here:

Marine phytoplankton is at the very bottom of the food chain.
Think beginning!
And it feeds over 99% of all Ocean Life and supports 100% of ALL life on the planet (directly and indirectly).
If marine phytoplankton ceased to exist... life on Earth would die off like a domino effect, one after another.
We have only scraped the surface of how IMPORTANT Marine Phytoplankton is. Here are two more facts you must know...
According to NASA research, it is responsible for producing up to 90% of the Earth's oxygen... (Compare this to a mature tree that only creates enough oxygen for two human beings)...
Its main "JOB" is to turn inorganic raw material (like seawater, minerals, sunlight and CO2) into over 100's of living edible, organic nutrients... (This includes vitamins, bioavailable minerals, all amino acids, essential fatty acids, carotenoids and more!)...
In other words... Marine Phytoplankton has fed life ON THIS PLANET as we know it since the beginning of time!
If we were to think what do all the nutritionally rich vegetables, fruits, plants, flowers and other super foods have in common, the answer would be: Marine Phytoplankton. They wouldn't exist if marine phytoplankton did not initially create the atmosphere as we know it.
Marine Phytoplankton's NUTRITION is so dense it can sustain life and provide optimal regeneration and energy to EVERY cell in our body.
Ingredients in our products go thru the "AMP natural process" which is a technology exclusive to ForeverGreen/FG XPRESS. This makes the nutrition available for your body, by making them water-soluble. This is important, because our BODIES are 70% water.
Most supplements are poorly absorbed due to the oil form of it's elements. We all know that water and oil won't integrate, but by "AMPing" the elements, these oils become water soluble and they become instantly bio-available.
Alpha 3 CMP™
Condensed Marine Phytoplankton is a unique nutrient-rich blend of marine phytoplankton harvested from the PRISTINE temperate coastal waters of the Pacific Northwest.
What makes these temperate waters an exceptional cauldron of life is the way in which ocean tides interact with fresh water, creating turbulence that draws even more deep water nutrients and supporting a diverse array of marine phytoplankton species. National Geographic, (Aug.2006).
The proprietary patent pending process harvests natural seawater, capturing the marine phytoplankton in million-liter tanks. This is the only known product to take natural marine phytoplankton communities containing a complete suite of marine trace elements in proportion to those found naturally in human tissue.
Throughout this unique growing and harvesting process, quality control and testing is employed to ensure the HIGHEST quality product, providing assurance that no pathogens, toxins, heavy metals or contamination has occurred to the natural marine phytoplankton.
The concentrated paste CONTAINS a variety of over 200 species (primarily from the larger, nutrient-rich Bacillariophyceae classification commonly known as diatoms).
Through the harvesting process the Company's patent pending proprietary technology breaks down the cellular walls, separating the silicate walls and RELEASING the nutrients that are otherwise encapsulated. This process, UNLIKE any other known to man today, makes the nutrients immediately bio-available.
The raw paste at this point contains approximately 85% water. It next goes to a state-of-the-art phytopharmaceutical production facility, licensed and certified GMP (Good Manufacturing Processes) by Health Canada, where it is further concentrated, passing through the highest standard quality assurance procedures (sanitized and stabilized) to certify Alpha 3 CMP™ safe for human consumption.
Like Tom, many people are experiencing the benefits of Marine Phytoplankton. You can find products that include the purest form of Tom's Marine Phytoplankton along with more information here:

Yep! It's impossible to find Ocean’s Alive Marine Phytoplankton at this pricing these days! It's estimated that 90% of Americans are deficient in Omega-3 Fatty Acids, and what's alarming about this is that 60% of the human brain is made up of these valuable fatty esters. I was listening to Dr. Jack Kruse, an expert on Omega fats and he stated that to really absorb any significant amount of EPA and DHA from a food, it must come from a "live" source or it quickly becomes rancid and is not readily absorbable. This is one of the reasons he frowns upon a vegan diet and is a huge advocate of eating specific fish and other sea animals, which contain EPA and DHA. However, for the Ocean's Alive Marine Phytoplankton, they take freshly harvested, raw marine phytoplankton from contained labs in Spain and simply suspend it in a pure, concentrated sea mineral solution for you to consume. I am curious whether, if this was explained to Dr. Jack Kruse, he would consider this product a "live" vegan source of bio-available EPA and DHA?
What Angela and I love about Oceans Alive Marine Phytoplankton is that we can literally just put it into a glass of water and it's like getting a green juice without having to make juice! Also the taste is very comforting to me, like mothers' milk or something. (I have no idea what mothers' milk actually tastes like, lol, but this product is very comforting to me when I drink it.) I like to use Marine Phytoplankton when I'm on the go and don't have time to make a vegetable juice, as you can see in the video further below. You can also find out in that video why Angela likes to take Phytoplankton every single morning!
Normally $39 each, if you get 3 bottles of Ocean's Alive Marine Phytoplankton now and use the coupon code rawfood7 during checkout, you will get each bottle for just $19.59! If you only want one bottle, the price will be $21.76! This offer is good until next Sunday night at midnight Pacific time, or while supplies last.
We also have Omegazen + EPA at Blow0ut pricing too. Omega-3 Fatty Acids are composed of ALA, EPA and DHA. ALA is very easy to get as it's available in many standard oils we consume such as Hempseed Oil, Chia Oil, Sacha Inchi Oil, etc. The issue is the EPA and DHA, for which 90% of Americans apparently have deficiencies. Granted, ALA does get naturally converted into EPA within the body and EPA can naturally convert to DHA. However, each of these conversions requires extra metabolic work and some people who have allergies or other health challenges such as diabetes have a rough time performing these conversions.
This is why doctors generally recommend for people to take fish oil two times a week, to make sure they're receiving DHA and EPA directly, instead of relying on the conversion from ALA. However, fish don't produce DHA and EPA on their own. They get it from algaes they consume. This Omegazen + EPA product that we are blowing out today, is the algae that the fish consume! We are simply bypassing the fish and going directly to the algae source! I just now lowered the price of the Omegazen + EPA, so you can get it at about half price - $15.04 per bottle if you get three and use the coupon code rawfood7, or $16.68 if you just get one bottle!

The magical glow-in the dark beach: Honeymooner snaps stunning surf lit up by bioluminescent phytoplankton.
Few honeymooners could hope for such a magical moment.
But one photographer celebrating his wedding was lucky enough to witness a stretch of beach lit up by bioluminescent phytoplankton.
Will Ho stumbled upon the awe-inspiring sight on a windy night in the Maldives.
The Taiwanese photographer saw tiny organisms, which glow like fireflies, riding waves and being washed up on the beach, to create dazzling patterns in the shallow water.
The minute creatures are thought to emit light when they are stressed and as Mr Ho said the evening was a windy one, it is likely the organisms were agitated by crashing waves.
He took a couple of photos of glowing footsteps, which are caused as the organisms can be present in wet beach and get stressed when they are trodden on, making it possible for a person to see an illuminated path of where they have walked.
While bioluminescent phytoplankton has been known about for some time, it is only recently that biologists have worked out what causes them to glow.
Marine Biologist Jorge Ribas told Discovery News the water is filled with bioluminescent phytoplankton called Lingulodinium polyedrum.
The microorganisms glow when stressed and reasons for their agitation include strong waves, a kayaker's paddle splashing the water or a surfer carving up the water.
'It was lucky for me to see such beautiful scenery and I took several pictures as great memories, but it's sad to see the garbage on the beach when I zoomed in the picture in my laptop,' Mr Ho wrote on his Flickr page.
The glowing beach phenomenon has been spotted around San Diego, California on a fairly regular basis since 1901, but there, the water appears slightly red because of an algal bloom, known as a red tide.

The Ocean's Nightlight: Phytoplankton | The Aquatic World with Philippe Cousteau
Philippe Cousteau is back with another installment of “The Aquatic World.” Phytoplankton are remarkable minuscule ocean-dwellers. They're too small to be seen individually by the unaided eye, but in larger numbers appear as colored patches on the water surface. Some even glow in the dark. They’re also the foundation of the oceanic food chain.

Effects of El Niño/La Niña on Phytoplankton and fish
For the past 15 years, satellites that measure the color of the ocean have given us a view of sea surface phytoplankton which form the base of the food web and half of all the oxygen we breathe. These satellite data are being used to understand fish distributions and why some fisheries suddenly collapse.

There are so many amazing superfoods available to us now, and the question is not "how to get them" but "how to use them".
Most of our superfoods are "food" that you can include freely in your meals, snacks, drinks.
In this recipe Marine phytoplankton is the star of the recipe.Marine phytoplankton is a single celled micro algae, like chlorella and spirulina. It contains hundreds of different carotenoids, minerals, amino acids and nutrients. And compared to land based plants, these are naturally rich in ocean water minerals.
Beyond the trace minerals, Marine phytoplankton contain hundreds of potent phytochemicals that can protect tissues of your body, detoxify your blood and remove toxins, enhance oxygenation and circulation and reverse abnormal cll division that can lead to cancer.
This unique super-nutrient from the ocean provides the body with naturally produced vitamins & minerals. Through extensive research, only four species of Marine Phytoplankton were found to be beneficial for human consumption. Based on nutritional profiles, one species was super beneficial and was chosen for production: the Nannochloropsis gaditana strain.

Everyone knows they’re the base of most ocean food chains but what ARE plankton, exactly? How could something the seems so insignificant rule planet earth?
Well, they’re not all small, for one thing. The word plankton literally means drifter. The planets “drift” from place to place in the night sky and the words planet and plankton are related.
Plankton “go with the flow.” They can’t hold onto the ocean floor (that would make them benthos) and they can’t swim freely in the water column (that would be nekton). They ride the currents and, well, wherever they go, that’s where they are! Jellyfish drift with the currents and, yes, jellies are considered plankton too.
There are animal forms, called zooplankton, and there are forms that, like plants, can produce their own food from sunlight. They’re not technically plants because they are single-celled and, often, prokaryotes (bacteria or archaeans).
When there’s plenty of sunlight and nutrients (usually places of upwelling, near islands and continents) populations of phytoplankton can explode, or “bloom,” and even be seen from space. The infamous red tides are population explosions of some types of phytoplankton called dinoflagellates.
When it comes to the zooplankton, there are those who are plankton all their lives, holoplankton, and those that grow out of it: meroplankton. Corals, clams, lobsters, crabs, sea stars, barnacles, many open water fish and a whole lot more spend the first parts of their lives as plankton. They'll literally settle down later and spend the rest of their lives attached to the ocean floor (or something else like a whale or a turtle shell) or become strong enough to swim against the currents. A 200 pound tuna actually starts life as a tiny planker. Yes, that's the singular form of the word.
Plankton have been circulating in the ocean for billions of years and they literally built the oxygenated atmosphere that allows us “higher” life forms to exist. To this day it is thought that over half the oxygen we breathe comes from phytoplankton.
So, yeah, plankton are worthy of a little love!
Here are the lyrics:
Out in the ocean, ever in motion, I get so emotional, about you plankton drifting along
Some are tiny size, too small for my eyes but I love you plankton guys
So I wrote you a love song
Just ocean drifters with no particular place to go
You look like alien species in a scifi picture show, ya had me at “Hello!”
Zooplankton kind, you blow my mind
all the animals I can find in a gulp of the salty sea
I dig the copepods with their wiggly bods, dude, check that baby cod!
I chill with the krill and the squid larvae
You’re food for the big blue whale and the little bitty fish, too
Oh, zooplankton, my world depends on you!
They go to-fro, high-low,
they move like jello
Yeah, they go with the flow
They go to-fro, high-low,
they move like jello
Yeah, they go with the flow
Can’t stop thinkin’ ‘bout my plankton bros!
The phytoplankton guys photosynthesize
You take carbon dioxide and a little bit of H20
With a beam of light you make a sugary bite
A little oxygen on the side I’d be blue without you, you know
You built this atmosphere so many years ago
Oh, phytoplankton, please don’t go!
chorus 2x
Song by Lucas Miller who produced it, sang it, played the guitars and bass, sequenced the drums (thank you, EZDrummer!), and, for the most part, arranged the horns.

Vocals and horns recorded at Kaze House in Austin by Rob Murray who also mixed and mastered this puppy.

Use 1 tbsp per 20 gallons of tank water. I dose my tank daily, and it sure makes for a happy reef!

The Suomi NPP satellite was able to capture an image of a North Atlantic phytoplankton bloom, revealing how stunning the natural occurrence can be.
Blooms of phytoplankton occur in the North Atlantic with a rather dependable regularity, but they can sometimes be difficult to see as weather gets in the way.
The Suomi NPP satellite was able to capture an image, revealing how stunning the natural occurrence can be.
Data from blue, red, and green bands and chlorophyll was gathered, combined, and processed, resulting in mesmerizing and sweeping blue and green swirls.
Michael Behrenfeld, a phytoplankton ecologist from Oregon said of the image, “The features that jump out so clearly represent the influence of ocean eddies and physical stirring on the concentration of phytoplankton pigments and, possibly, colored dissolved organic matter.”
The data used to make the picture was gathered on September 23rd, during the fall bloom.

Discover the power of Marine Phytoplankton - http://www.bewellbuzz.com/superfoods/marine-phytoplankton-benefits/
Marine Phytoplankton is a unique super-nutrient from the ocean that provides the body with an increase in residual energy that builds up significantly when it is ingested on a daily basis. A team of European doctors, microbiologists and botanists spent many years and millions of dollars researching 40,000 species of marine phytoplankton in the ocean to determine the best species in each category to use for bio-fuel, aqua culture, exotic fish food and ultimately human consumption.
Only four species of Marine Phytoplankton were found to be beneficial for human consumption and based on nutritional profiles, one species was super beneficial and was the single species chosen for production. This podcast delivers authoritative information around this top and a special product called Oceans Alive Marine Phytoplankton.

For years, Chuck Montana has been studying the use of
marine phytoplankton as an all natural alternative cancer treatment
(as can be heard in most of the marine phytoplankton videos on our website "WinTheFightAgainstCancerNaturally.org.) He says that in his experience: "Only marine phytoplankton grown in real ocean water that has been purified, filtered and sterilized is known to benefit those with cancer." He goes further to mention that the rare nutrient CoQ9 may also play an essential role in the effectiveness of marine phytoplankton against cancer. In addition, he explains that most phytoplankton products on the market today have very little effect on cancer, and some (which are synthetically-grown) can even make cancer conditions worse. So, use caution when selecting a marine phytoplankton product! For more info, check out our Marine Phytoplankton section on our website (see below). Based on results reported during his interviews of those using marine phytoplankton, for cancer Chuck personally recommends 3 to 6 grams of marine phytoplankton daily--taken in powder or pure capsule form--divided into two servings--a.m. and p.m.
In this Video, After being diagnosed with rectal cancer, Reverend Crystal Behrens refused radiation so her doctors sent her to hospice to die. Then Crystal started taking marine phytoplankton and her health greatly improved. She quickly started to recover; her rectal bleeding stopped by about 70 percent; her high blood pressure became normal; and she was asked to leave hospice. She contributes her rectum cancer recovery to taking marine phytoplankton powder (approximately 3 grams per day.)

Guts and Glory – Activation Products with Ian Clark
Some of us are willing to try many things to get that body and to live longer and have a better time while we’re here. We eat certain foods, avoid others, take supplements…And it can be mixed results for many of us. Here’s why—there’s an important distinction that I want to make about building the body up versus killing off disease.
It’s about creating an environment where disease can’t hang out. (When I went this route, it changed everything.)
Because things like Candida that are causing the health problems? They’re present in the body for a reason. You can’t just kill em off. Won’t work.
So what will? It involves creating a healthy body where disease can’t exist.
Before that it was a fight, a constant fight. When you’re fighting your body or you’re fighting anything living in your body, it’s going to fight back—that’s just what fighting is!
Check out this special two-part interview with Ian Clark where we talk about the biggest mistakes we made in this realm.
Ian Clark is the founder of Activation Products, a company which I’m a big fan. We talked about his personal journey going from being given 2 years to live (and facing massive pharmaceuticals and surgeries) based on his other family members dying before 50–to thriving and running a booming business ten years later.
When the doctors told Ian that his fate was sealed due to his genes, he rejected the idea that genetic predisposition was something he couldn’t do anything about.
He chose to believe he could do something about it. He had nothing to lose.
In the interview we talk about Oceans Alive Marine Phytoplankton and how for the last 8 years it’s flown off the shelf. (That product became the reason why he called his company Activation Products. “Every time I took it when I first started taking it, it activated something very deep inside that wanted me to get way more healthy,” says Ian.)
We also talked about Activation’s raw pumpkin oil (future product), cumin oil, and coriander oil, and how they give you more power than you’ve ever had before as far as endurance and stamina.
Coriander oil is especially important to those interested in gut health—it played a crucial role in helping to rid Andreas (the person responsible for fresh pressing these oils!) of his Chrone’s disease.
Check out the video above and listen in on our conversation about how we went from being sick to our highest functioning selves.
How to use this information for your health:
Check out Ian Clark’s products to boost alkalinity, remineralize your body, and rebuild your gut. Pour the 5-Seed Blend into your smoothies, use the black cumin seed oil for parasites and Candida, and use the Magnesium spray to quickly absorb minerals for reducing muscle pain and easing constipation.
If you’re a wellness practitioner:
You need to know about these products because they are highly effective in taking your clients’ health to the next level. For example, the coriander oil is incredibly effective at ending Candida and the 5-Seed Blend will help boost your clients’ nutrient levels, support skin and brain health with omega fatty acids, and energize organ function.

wn.com/Ian Clark Interview Part 1

Science for the Public 02/24/15: Amala Mahadevan, Ph.D., Senior Scientist, Physical Oceanography Dept, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
Dr. Mahadevan explains (with demos) the relationship between the mixing of warm and cold ocean water and the spectacular phytoplankton blooms. The phytoplankton are essential to the cycle of CO2 absorption that occurs in the world's oceans. This is a fascinating explanation of a complex relationship between ocean physics, chemistry and biology.

Sea ice in the Arctic Ocean is in rapid decline. This reduction in ice extent and thickness has resulted in a longer open water season and higher marine productivity. Until recently, phytoplankton blooms on continental shelves were thought to be restricted to waters free of sea ice.
However, during the summer of 2011 in the Chukchi Sea, a large phytoplankton bloom was observed for the first time beneath fully consolidated pack ice and extended from the ice edge to 100 km into the pack. This has been made possible by a thinning sea ice cover with more numerous melt ponds over the past decade that has enhanced light penetration through the sea ice into the upper water column.
These and other observations suggest that phytoplankton blooms are currently widespread on nutrient-rich Arctic continental shelves and that past estimates of annual primary production in waters where under-ice blooms develop are 10 fold too low. These massive phytoplankton blooms represent a marked shift in our understanding of Arctic marine ecosystems and their early timing can potentially disrupt lifecycle strategies of both resident and migratory Arctic species.

Aphanizomenon Flos-Aquae (AFA) is called and "the most nutritionally dense foods on the planet. The health benefits of these microscopic algae have been reported for more than two decades, yet it is only recently that science has revealed the mechanisms by which these acts on the body, and the astonishing health benefits they provide for people and animals.
Also known as MARINE PHYTOPLANKTON..
Marine phytoplankton is a super-nutrient; a highly bio-available source of vitamins and minerals. There are only four species beneficial for human consumption- with the Nannochloropsis gaditana strain being most beneficial. At microscopic sizes, marine phytoplankton is highly bioavailable.
It contains a unique combination of life-sustaining nutrients and antioxidants including: essential fatty acids, amino acids, protein, vitamins, chlorophyll, minerals, trace elements, & phytonutrients. Marine Phytoplankton may be the most nutrient dense food on Earth.
