Our walk through of some parts of Edaville during the VIP grand opening of Thomas Land! The only one in the U.S.!!! Located right in Carver, Massachusetts.

Ryan went to Thomas Land Edaville USA amusement theme park for kids to see Giant Thomas and Friends engines come to live! This is such a family fun adventure where there are so many train rides for kids where the the family can stroll through Knapford Station, explore at Tidmouth Sheds, and go on 10 theme train rides. Watch Part 2 of 3 of Thomas Land Theme Park. There are so many other train rides there such as Bertie’s Bus Tours, Cranky’s Crane Drop, Harold’s Lift-Off, Rockin’ Bulstrode, Sodor’s Cranberry Carousel, Sodor Windmill, Troublesome Trucks Runaway Coaster, Winston’s Skyline Express, Firefighting Flynn, Diesel Derby, and Toby’s Tilting Tracks. There's also a fun kids show with Giant Thomas Thomas and Friends Jordan, James, Emily, and Percy where with the help of the kids and Sir Topham Hatt , they made the world biggest cranberry pie. There's also a life-sized Thomas the tank Engine 20-minute train ride take in all of the sights and sounds at Edaville USA.
Ryan also went to the gift shop and we ended up buying Thomas the tank engine special edition engine die-cast, Wooden railway Thomas cranberry spill (only available at Thomas land), Thomas t-shirt, and Pez Thomas candy

Hey guys! I was on vacation, and was able to get a chance to stop at Edaville and visit Thomas Land on the way back. Hope you enjoy it!
P.S. I know you're all still waiting for the next TTTS Short, but it's already being worked on, so please stop asking when it's coming out. It's just taking a while because it's my first time doing one in Final Cut Pro X, and there are some difficult tasks to accomplish in order to finish it up.

This is the full video of "Edaville - Massachusetts' Maine Attraction. I post the full video at the behest of a number of viewers. The video tells the story of the developement and the operation and the eventual demise of the Maine 2 foot guage railroads. It also tells the story of the equipments rescue by Ellis D. Atwood. It follows Edaville Railroad from its inception to the fall/early winter of 1991 prior to its closing in 1992. This video was found in a throw out pile of programs in a public access studio in Massachusetts. This video is from Mark 1 Video Productions productions of New Jersey.

The Edaville Railroad in South Carver, MA was the last bastion of two-foot-gauge railroading in the United States. Comprised of equipment which formerly operated in the State of Maine, the Edaville was originally built to service a cranberry plantation owned by Ellis D. Atwood. The little steam-powered trains soon became a major tourist attraction and one of America's first theme parks. Established in 1941, the six-mile line was a New England fixture until it closed in 1991. The railroad has re-opened and is currently in operation, albeit with a smaller railroad line.
MASSACHUSETTS MAINE ATTRACTION is the only definitive documentary on Edaville ever produced. Through extremely rare archive film footage, you'll learn the history of the Maine two-footers and observe regular service trains on the Sandy River and Bridgton & Harrison Railroads. Passenger and freight activities, and even winter scenes are included. The program then describes the evolution of Edaville, from its planning and construction as a cranberry-hauling freight line to a full-fledged theme park. You'll ride the train and view the railroad from both onboard and trackside perspectives, and see coverage of special railfan events, including night activities.
EDAVILLE REVISITED describes the sale and movement of most of the Edaville equipment to the new Maine Narrow Gauge Museum in Portland, and the short-lived 1997 revival of Edaville itself. The program includes beautifully photographed scenes taken during the legendary Railfan Weekend in October 1991, when 2-4-4T 7 was correctly lettered for the Bridgton & Harrison Railroad for the first time in 50 years! The little engine pulled a special photo freight through spectacular fall colors. Coverage of the final 1991 Holiday Spectacular at Edaville is then shown, followed by the equipment move to Portland and the 1997 Edaville Cranberry Festival, complete with superb helicopter views of the little trains in action. A tour of the Portland museum featuring trackside, onboard, and in-cab views, along with some unusual night video sequences and a colorful fireworks display, completes the program.

Yesterday my family and I went to Edaville USA and for the first time we went to Thomas Land that was built there. Edaville also redid everything around, they built a new arcade place in the big brick building where the small store is, the model railroad sets are being moved and rebuild upstairs and more.
I even brought some Thomas items while I was there. Such as Take N play Die-cast Thomas, Thomas' Cranberry Spill, The First Ever Stories book and of course, a large scale Die-cast Thomas. I even saw the items they had for the upcoming special Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure.
I am glad that I got to visit Thomas Land for the very first time, and this will be every dream come true for all Thomas fans.

Edaville Railroad
Edaville Railroad is a heritage railroad in South Carver, Massachusetts. Opened in 1947, Edaville Railroad is generally regarded as one of the oldest heritage railroad operations in the United States. Edaville Railroad is a 2 ft (610 mm) narrow gauge line that operates excursion trains for tourists. It was built by the late Ellis D. Atwood (initials E.D.A, for which Edaville is named) on his sprawling cranberry plantation in Southeastern Massachusetts.
History
Conception and opening
Atwood purchased two locomotives and most of the passenger and freight cars when the Bridgton and Saco River Railroad was dismantled in 1941. After World War II he acquired two former Monson Railroad locomotives and some surviving cars from the defunct Sandy River and Rangeley Lakes Railroad in Maine. This equipment ran on 2 ft (610 mm) narrow gauge tracks, as opposed to the more common 3 ft (914 mm) narrow gauge in the western United States. Atwood purchased the equipment for use on his 1,800-acre (730 ha) cranberry plantation in South Carver. Sand and supplies were hauled in to the bogs, and cranberries were transported to a "screen house" where they were dried and then sent to market. Atwood's neighbors were enchanted with the diminutive railroad. At first, Atwood offered rides for free. When the demand for rides soared, he charged a nickel a ride. Eventually the line became less of a working railroad and more of a tourist attraction.

Hey guys! I was on vacation, and was able to get a chance to stop at Edaville and visit Thomas Land on the way back. Hope you enjoy it! P.S. I know you're all still waiting for the next TTTS Short, but it's already being worked on, so please stop asking when it's coming out. It's just taking a while because it's my first time doing one in Final Cut Pro X, and there are some difficult tasks to accomplish in order to finish it up. The video tells the story of the developement and the operation and the eventual demise of the Maine 2 foot guage railroads. It also tells the story of the equipments rescue by Ellis D. Atwood. It follows Edaville Railroad from its inception to the fall/early winter of 1991 prior to its closing in 1992. The Edaville Railroad in South Carver, MA was the last bastion of two-foot-gauge railroading in the United States. Comprised of equipment which formerly operated in the State of Maine, the Edaville was originally built to service a cranberry plantation owned by Ellis D. Atwood. The little steam-powered trains soon became a major tourist attraction and one of America's first theme parks. Established in 1941, the six-mile line was a New England fixture until it closed in 1991. The railroad has re-opened and is currently in operation, albeit with a smaller railroad line. My trip to Thomas Land at Edaville USA
Yesterday my family and I went to Edaville USA and for the first time we went to Thomas Land that was built there. Edaville also redid everything around, they built a new arcade place in the big brick building where the small store is, the model railroad sets are being moved and rebuild upstairs and more. I even brought some Thomas items while I was there. Such as Take N play Die-cast Thomas, Thomas' Cranberry Spill, The First Ever Stories book and of course, a large scale Die-cast Thomas. I even saw the items they had for the upcoming special Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure. I am glad that I got to visit Thomas Land for the very first time, and this will be every dream come true for all Thomas fans. Established in 1941, the six-mile line was a New England fixture until it closed in 1991. The railroad has re-opened and is currently in operation, albeit with a smaller railroad line.
MASSACHUSETTS MAINE ATTRACTION is the only definitive documentary on Edaville ever produced. Through extremely rare archive film footage, you'll learn the history of the Maine two-footers and observe regular service trains on the Sandy River and Bridgton & Harrison Railroads. Passenger and freight activities, and even winter scenes are included. The program then describes the evolution of Edaville, from its planning and construction as a cranberry-hauling freight line to a full-fledged theme park. You'll ride the train and view the railroad from both onboard and trackside perspectives, and see coverage of special railfan events, including night activities.
EDAVILLE REVISITED describes the sale and movement of most of the Edaville equipment to the new Maine Narrow Gauge Museum in Portland, and the short-lived 1997 revival of Edaville itself. The program includes beautifully photographed scenes taken during the legendary Railfan Weekend in October 1991, when 2-4-4T 7 was correctly lettered for the Bridgton & Harrison Railroad for the first time in 50 years! The little engine pulled a special photo freight through spectacular fall colors. Coverage of the final 1991 Holiday Spectacular at Edaville is then shown, followed by the equipment move to Portland and the 1997 Edaville Cranberry Festival, complete with superb helicopter views of the little trains in action. A tour of the Portland museum featuring trackside, onboard, and in-cab views, along with some unusual night video sequences and a colorful fireworks display, completes the program.

The program then describes the evolution of Edaville, from its planning and construction as a cranberry-hauling freight line to a full-fledged theme park. You'll ride the train and view the railroad from both onboard and trackside perspectives, and see coverage of special railfan events, including night activities.
EDAVILLE REVISITED describes the sale and movement of most of the Edaville equipment to the new Maine Narrow Gauge Museum in Portland, and the short-lived 1997 revival of Edaville itself. The program includes beautifully photographed scenes taken during the legendary Railfan Weekend in October 1991, when 2-4-4T 7 was correctly lettered for the Bridgton & Harrison Railroad for the first time in 50 years! The little engine pulled a special photo freight through spectacular fall colors. Coverage of the final 1991 Holiday Spectacular at Edaville is then shown, followed by the equipment move to Portland and the 1997 Edaville Cranberry Festival, complete with superb helicopter views of the little trains in action. A tour of the Portland museum featuring trackside, onboard, and in-cab views, along with some unusual night video sequences and a colorful fireworks display, completes the program.

Edaville also redid everything around, they built a new arcade place in the big brick building where the small store is, the model railroad sets are being moved and rebuild upstairs and more.
I even brought some Thomas items while I was there. Such as Take N play Die-cast Thomas, Thomas' Cranberry Spill, The First Ever Stories book and of course, a large scale Die-cast Thomas. I even saw the items they had for the upcoming special Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure.
I am glad that I got to visit Thomas Land for the very first time, and this will be every dream come true for all Thomas fans.
