Kennedy may refer to:
Geoffrey, Geoffroy, Geoff, etc. may refer to:
Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe (8 October 1900 – 17 July 1996) was an English architect, town planner, landscape architect, garden designer and author. His strongest interest was in landscape and garden design.
Jellicoe was born in Chelsea, London. He studied at the Architectural Association in London in 1919 and won a British Prix de Rome for Architecture in 1923, which enabled him to research his first book Italian Gardens of the Renaissance with John C. Shepherd. This pioneering study did much to re-awaken interest in this great period of landscape design and through its copious photographic illustrations publicized the then perilously decayed condition of many of the gardens.
In 1929 he was a founding member of the Landscape Institute and from 1939 to 1949 he was its President. In 1948, he became the founding President of the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA). From 1954 to 1968 he was a member of Royal Fine Art Commission and from 1967 to 1974 a Trustee of Tate Gallery.
The Polar Music Prize is a Swedish international award founded in 1989 by Stig Anderson, best known as the manager of the Swedish band ABBA, with a donation to the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. The award is annually given to one contemporary musician and one classical musician. Exceptions were made in 2001, when it was awarded to three musicians (one composer, one contemporary musician and one inventor), and 2003, when it was awarded only to one composer. Without any restrictions of nationality, the prize is to be "awarded for significant achievements in music and/or musical activity, or for achievements which are found to be of great potential importance for music or musical activity, and it shall be referable to all fields within or closely connected with music". The prize has been called the "Nobel Prize of Music" in Sweden.
The first recipients were the British musician, Paul McCartney, and the Baltic States. Laureates are awarded 1 million kr (approximately US$120,000 by 2016 rates) handed over by king Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden in a ceremony at Stockholm Concert Hall in June every year. The Polar Music Prize is regarded as the foremost musical honour. The prize is overseen by the Stig Anderson Music Award Foundation, which includes members of Anderson's family and representatives of SKAP – the Swedish Society of Songwriters, Composers and Authors and the Swedish Performing Rights Society. A committee of musicians, other experienced members of the music industry, and members of Anderson's family selects the prize recipients from nominations submitted by representatives of several international music industry organizations, such as the European Composer and Songwriter Alliance.
Polar Music is a Swedish record company founded in 1963 by Stig Anderson and his friend Bengt Bernhag. The first act that it signed was the Hootenanny Singers featuring Björn Ulvaeus. Polar eventually gained prosperity producing Ulvaeus' next group, international superstars ABBA. As a small Scandinavian company based in Sweden, Polar could not afford to set up operations worldwide and were only ABBA's record company in the Scandinavian countries. Therefore, ABBA's recordings were licensed to different record companies in each country, but usually to companies that had international operations, meaning they could effectively compete with each other to acquire the licenses in more countries if they proved successful in their own. The licenses gave the companies a few allowances to issue certain tracks as singles that Polar hadn't, or to modify single (and occasionally album) artwork. The licenses were for three years at a time, meaning that between 1989 and 1992, they had all expired. This enabled PolyGram to release Gold: Greatest Hits to major success around the world.

One of the 20th-century's greatest landscape architects, Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe, explains how he designed the JFK Memorial at Runnymede, near Windsor in England. Visit for yourself and see if your subconscious is stirred (perhaps by comparing it to the other Runnymede memorials)! It is open daily.
Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe was the landscape architect for the Kennedy Memorial at Runnymede in England. He saw it as a turning point in his evolution as a designer. It is the place where he came to understand the importance of the subconscious in design, following Carl Jung in his interpretation of the idea. Tom Turner, who explains the design, sees it as postmodern in the sense of Canon Bernard Iddings Bell rather than Charles Jencks. The video includes audio clips from JFK, FDR and Queen Elizabeth II.

The standard narrative runs like this: Ngo Dinh Diem was the corrupt and oppressive president of South Vietnam whose removal (which wound up taking the form of assassination) the Kennedy Administration had no choice but to endorse. On top of everything else, Diem's administration was dominated by Roman Catholics in a predominantly Buddhist country, and his outrageous oppression of Buddhists was still another reason he had to go. I myself believed all this, and even taught it in the classroom. According to my guest today, it's bunk. Channeling is a practice dating back to antiquity wherein an individual, usually in a trance state, makes a psychic connection with a spirit being. The channeler is then able to act as a dimensional go-between in bringing other humans in contact with the entity, as well as interpreting messages from the entity. For the very first time, six of North America's most prominent channelers are featured in the same film. Viewers gain a rare glimpse and insight into th...

The myths surrounding the German high command in World War II deviate significantly from the reality. Many people have an image of the German high command (or, loosely, the German General Staff) as an entity that was independent; organized and centralized; expert; and anti-Nazi. While not wholly false, this picture is also far from accurate. This talk will examine the high command's structure, ideas, and culture, in order to reveal weaknesses that severely inhibited its performance and contributed to the onset, nature and ultimate loss of the war.
