Salim Khan was born on 24 November,1935. He is an Indian screenwriter in Hindi cinema. Salim Khan is best known for being one half of the prolific screenwriting duo of Salim-Javed. He is the father of Bollywood actors Salman Khan, Sohail Khan and Arbaaz Khan.

Salim Khan is best known for being the one-half of the prolific screenwriting duo, Salim-Javed. Father of Bollywood actor Salman Khan, he is a renowned screenwriter and actor of Hindi cinema. Salim Khan was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh during the British rule. Khan's father was a police officer, while his mother had died when he was still young. In 1964, he married Sushila Charak. Salim and Suhila had four children: Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan and Alvira Khan. In 1981, Salim married the famous actor Helen. He debuted after director K Amarnath saw him at a wedding and was impressed by his good looks. He asked him to come to Mumbai, where he hired him as an actor. Khan acted in various movies, in large and small roles, for seven years. He was unable to capture the public's interest, and as a result, his acting career stalled. Salim Khan appeared in noted films like Teesri Manzil (1966), Sarhaadi Lootera (1966) and Diwaana (1967).
He met Javed Akhtar on the sets of Sarhadi Lutera. Salim Khan used to assist writer/director Abrar Alvi at first and Javed Akhtar used to assist Kaifi Azmi. Abrar Alvi and Kaifi Azmi were neighbours and from there on, Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar became friends and both of them ventured into scriptwriting. Javed used to write dialogues and then became a film scriptwriter. The duo shot to fame & popularly came to be known as Salim-Javed. Their first big success was the script for Seeta Aur Geeta (1972). They also had hits in Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), Zanjeer (1973), Deewaar (1975), Sholay (1975), Trishul (1978), Kranti (1981), Zamaana (1985) and Mr. India (1987). Salim-Javed, many a times described as the most successful scriptwriters of all-time, are also noted to be the first scriptwriters in Indian cinema to achieve star status.

Arbaaz Khan's Father Salim Khan Also Present At The Launch Dolly ki Doli is the story of a girl, dolly who fakes marriages in an original style and runs away stealing all the precious belongings of the groom and his family. The modus operandi is as follows. Dolly’s fake brother, Raju identifies prospective grooms. Then Dolly makes these men fall in love with her. In return, these prospective grooms are ready to do anything for dolly including going against their parents’ wishes to marry dolly. Once married, on the night of the ‘suhagraat’ dolly makes them drink ‘drugged’ milk making them unconscious after which dolly along with her gang wipes the house clean of all the valuables. On the other side of the law is robin singh, a police inspector given the task of catching dolly.

Salim Khan (born 24 November 1935) is an Indian actor and screenwriter. In Hindi cinema, Khan is best known for his prolific work in the latter area.
Khan was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. Khan's father was a police officer, while his mother had died when he was still young. In 1964, he married Salma Khan (birth name Sushila Charak), a Maharashtrian Dogra Rajput from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Salim and Salma have four children together: Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan and Alvira Khan. In 1981, Salim married the entertainer Helen, who lives in a separate house. Relations between his two families were rumored to have been tense at first, but Salim's children are now said to be fond of his second wife. They have also adopted a daughter named Arpita Khan.[citation needed]
Khan debuted after director K. Amarnath saw him at a wedding and was impressed by his good looks. He asked him to come to Mumbai, where he hired him as an actor for Rs. 400 a month. Khan acted in various movies, in large and small parts, for seven years. He was unable to capture the public's interest, and, as a result, his career had stalled. Khan appeared in such films as Teesri Manzil (1966), Sarhaadi Lootera (1966) and Diwaana (1967). He met Javed Akhtar on the sets of Sarhaadi Lootera. Javed used to write dialogues and then became a film script writer, now a well known lyricist. The duo hit it off and formed a scriptwriting team that came to be known as Salim-Javed. Their first big success was the script for Seeta Aur Geeta (1972). They also had hits in Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), Zanjeer (1973), Deewaar (1975), Sholay (1975), Trishul (1978), Kranti (1981), Zamaana (1985) and Mr India (1987). Bajrangi Bhaijaan is based on the love story of a Muslim man, Pavan Kumar Chaturvedi (played by Salman) and a Delhi based woman, Razia (played by Kareena). The story also has a little Pakistani girl who crosses the border and lands in India, following which, the ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ takes up the responsibility of reuniting her with her family in Pakistan. ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is Salman’s second collaboration with Kabir Khan, with whom he had worked earlier in ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, in which Salman had played a RAW agent. ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is slated to release on Eid this year. Plot: Ajay lives with his stern, honest, disciplinarian and Gandhian widowed father, Prof. (retd.) Raghuvansh Shastri. Ajay works as a salesman, but soon finds himself out of work. Finally he borrows 5 lakh rupees to bribe his way on the merit list, & soon his name is shown on the shortlist. Just before his selection, major differences crop up between Home Minister Dinkar Pandey and his dad, with the later threatening to expose the corruption within the State Ministry. Dinkar ensures that Ajay's name is dropped from the shortlist, and the money-lender sends his goons after him, giving him 3 days to come up with the money. A desperate Ajay decides to be part of the lucrative kidnapping scheme in Bihar, abducts a Government official and demands a ransom so that he can re-pay his loan. Unfortunately, this Government official was under the protection of underworld Don, Gaya Singh, who carries out his operation from prison. When it is discovered that Gaya is involved, the abduction goes awry, with Ajay being arrested by the police, held in a cell, where he is severely beaten and humiliated by Gaya Singh. Ajay is discharged from custody when no one identifies him. Ajay is enraged, frustrated with his life, and he decides to take kidnap another government official. This official was on the list to be kidnapped by Gaya Singh, under instructions from corrupt MLA Tabrez Alam. When Gaya finds out that Ajay is behind this kidnapping, he locates and decides to kill him, a tussle ensues which results in Gaya's death. Ajay then takes over from Gaya and is accepted with open arms by Tabrez and his men. What Ajay does not know is that Tabrez is a ruthless man, who has killed his very own nephew, the son of his brother, Usman Alam, when he became an informant for the police. When Ajay's popularity grows, he is invited by Dinkar to join forces with him, as everyone from a lowly Police Constable to the Home Minister gets a share in the ransom money. Ajay refuses, however, Tabrez is misinformed about this and thinks that Ajay is against him. Now Ajay finds himself alone, as even his father has forsaken him. The girl he hoped to marry, Megha, no longer cares for him, and the police want him dead or alive - that is if he can escape from the clutches of Usman and Tabrez first.

Salim Khan was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh during the British rule. Khan's father was a police officer, while his mother had died when he was still young. In 1964, he married Sushila Charak. Salim and Suhila had four children: Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan and Alvira Khan. In 1981, Salim married the famous actor Helen. He debuted after director K Amarnath saw him at a wedding and was impressed by his good looks. He asked him to come to Mumbai, where he hired him as an actor. Khan acted in various movies, in large and small roles, for seven years. He was unable to capture the public's interest, and as a result, his acting career stalled. Salim Khan appeared in noted films like Teesri Manzil (1966), Sarhaadi Lootera (1966) and Diwaana (1967).
He met Javed Akhtar on the sets of Sarhadi Lutera. Salim Khan used to assist writer/director Abrar Alvi at first and Javed Akhtar used to assist Kaifi Azmi. Abrar Alvi and Kaifi Azmi were neighbours and from there on, Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar became friends and both of them ventured into scriptwriting. Javed used to write dialogues and then became a film scriptwriter. The duo shot to fame & popularly came to be known as Salim-Javed. Their first big success was the script for Seeta Aur Geeta (1972). They also had hits in Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), Zanjeer (1973), Deewaar (1975), Sholay (1975), Trishul (1978), Kranti (1981), Zamaana (1985) and Mr. India (1987). Salim-Javed, many a times described as the most successful scriptwriters of all-time, are also noted to be the first scriptwriters in Indian cinema to achieve star status.
