Loved this camping trip so much.
First of all, turns out we're not the most equipped camping duo, but made the absolute best of it. We SLEPT in the JEEP for TWO nights, and it was so cool! Makes me that much more obsessed with this vehicle. So many awesome family memories were made and Sofi had an absolute blast.
Anyways, needles to say there will be many more camping trips to come!

The feud is fanned by Uncle Frank (Kenneth MacDonald), and Warren Sturgis (Leonard Penn), who plan to obtrain the ranch by killing both Terry and Gil.
Though filmed in color, THE CISCO KID, was originally telecast in black and white. This is an original 1955 syndiacted print with Weber's Bread commercials intact just as telecast on March 3, 1955.

Very early color clip filmed in Santa Barbara (where the El Paseo Restaurant is now) during Fiesta.. the cowboy that rides up on the horse with guns a blazing is Leo Carrillo who the Surf Spot also known as SECOS is named after. They sing the original version of La Cucaracha (the cockroach) with the lyrics mentioning Marijuana or Marihuana yet thrown in the words Santa Barbara etc, ....SPANISH.. La Cucaracha, La cucarach, ya no puede caminar porque no tiene, porque le falta marihuana pa'fumar... ENGLISH The Cockroach, the cockroach, can't walk anymore because it doesn't have, because it's lacking Marijuana to smoke.. (this is also where we got the slang ROACH for the small butt that is left of a smoked joint.. since way back when Cucaracha was also slang for marijuana.

Leo Carrillo State Park and dog park is a state park of California, United States, and a component of Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area preserving 1.5 miles (2.4 km) of beach at the foot of the Santa Monica Mountains. California State Route 1 runs through the park, where it intersects with the western terminus of the Mulholland Highway. The 2,513-acre (1,017 ha) park was established in 1953. It is named for actor and conservationist Leo Carrillo (1880--1961), who served on the State Parks commission.
Leo Carrillo State Park offers swimming, surfing, windsurfing, surf fishing, and beachcombing. Beachgoers can explore tide pools, sea caves, and reefs. Away from shore there is a shady campground and backcountry hiking trails.
Leo Carillo Beach has been a popular location for photographers and movies. Movies filmed there include Gidget, Grease, 1984's The Karate Kid, The Craft, Point Break, The Usual Suspects, Inception, and Mega Shark Versus Crocosaurus.
In the popular 1970's TV show The Rockford Files, starring James Garner, it was the first season's opening scene of episode 1 (The Kirkoff Case) airing September 13th, 1974.
It was featured in an episode of Huell Howser's TV series California's Golden Parks.

These videos were taken at the tide pools at Leo Carrillo in Malibu. They were taken at high and low tides to get the mix of calm and wavy pools. I didn't know what to expect when I was filming this and was blown away by the quality of everything.

Leopoldo Antonio Carrillo Spanish pronunciation: [Cay-reel-yo] (August 6, 1880 – September 10, 1961), was an American actor, vaudevillian, political cartoonist, and conservationist.
Biography
Family roots
Although he played many different ethnicities in his acting career, Leo Carrillo was Castillian Spanish and traced his ancestry in Spain to the year 1260. His great-great grandfather José Raimundo Carrillo (1749–1809), was a soldier in the Spanish Portolá expedition colonization of Las Californias, arriving in San Diego on July 1, 1769. Franciscan Friar Junípero Serra performed the marriage ceremony for Don Jose Raimundo and Tomasa Ignacia Lugo in 1781. His great-grandfather Carlos Antonio Carrillo (1783–1852) was Governor of Alta California (1837–38). His great-uncle, José Antonio Carrillo, was a three-time mayor of Los Angeles and twice married to sisters of Governor Pío Pico. His paternal grandfather, Pedro Carrillo, who was educated in Boston, was a writer.

Duncan Renaldo
Renault Renaldo Duncan (April 23, 1904 – September 3, 1980), better known as Duncan Renaldo, was a Romanian-born American actor best remembered for his portrayal of The Cisco Kid in films and on the 1950-1956 American TV series, The Cisco Kid.
Biography
Early years
Renaldo told some interviewers that he actually did not know where he was born. Various sources claim that he was born in Oancea, Galați County, Romania as Vasile Dumitru V. Couyanos or Basil Couyanos. Renaldo apparently never knew his biological parents and was raised in several European countries. His birthplace has been generally stated as Romania and he said his first childhood memories were in Romania.
He emigrated to America in the 1920s. Failing to support himself as a portrait painter, he tried producing short films. He eventually took up acting and signed with MGM in 1928 where he worked in at least two major films, The Bridge of San Luis Rey and Trader Horn. The latter film was shot on location in Africa and is notorious for adventures that rivaled the source book's and film's plot of a "great white hunter" and a white blonde jungle queen, the lost daughter of a missionary. One crew member was taken by a crocodile and another killed by a charging rhino. Many crew and stars were stricken with malaria but Renaldo told one interviewer in 1971 that he never contracted the parasite because he took a hunter's advice to "race the blood" with a shot of whiskey in the morning and another at dusk.

1955 THE CISCO KID - "Vendetta" - Duncan Renaldo, Leo Carrillo - with commercials
Starring Duncan Renaldo, Leo Carillo, Alan Wells, Claudia Barrett, Leonard Penn and Kenneth MacDonald. Directed by Lambert Hillyer. Season 5, episode 24. The Cisco Kid (Duncan Renaldo) settles an old feud by preventing spitfire Terry Monahan from killing Gil Parker, (Alan Wells) a young man newly arrived from the East, who she believes is out take over the family ranch. The feud is fanned by Uncle Frank (Kenneth MacDonald), and Warren Sturgis (Leonard Penn), who plan to obtrain the ranch by killing both Terry and Gil. Though filmed in color, THE CISCO KID, was originally telecast in black and white. This is an original 1955 syndiacted print with Weber's Bread commercials intact just as telecast on March 3, 1955. Very early color clip filmed in Santa Barbara (where the El Paseo Restaurant is now) during Fiesta.. the cowboy that rides up on the horse with guns a blazing is Leo Carrillo who the Surf Spot also known as SECOS is named after. They sing the original version of La Cucaracha (the cockroach) with the lyrics mentioning Marijuana or Marihuana yet thrown in the words Santa Barbara etc, ....SPANISH.. La Cucaracha, La cucarach, ya no puede caminar porque no tiene, porque le falta marihuana pa'fumar... ENGLISH The Cockroach, the cockroach, can't walk anymore because it doesn't have, because it's lacking Marijuana to smoke.. (this is also where we got the slang ROACH for the small butt that is left of a smoked joint.. since way back when Cucaracha was also slang for marijuana.

Loved this camping trip so much.
First of all, turns out we're not the most equipped camping duo, but made the absolute best of it. We SLEPT in the JEEP for TWO nights, and it was so cool! Makes me that much more obsessed with this vehicle. So many awesome family memories were made and Sofi had an absolute blast.
Anyways, needles to say there will be many more camping trips to come!
