Fútbol Picante

Futbol Picante (translation: Spicy Football or Spicy Soccer) is a Mexican sports television show in Spanish which covers mostly Mexican football.

The show is mostly hosted by José Ramón Fernández; Heriberto Murrieta, Ciro Procuna, Alejandro de la Rosa, and Ángel García Toraño also serve as hosts when José Ramón Fernández is not present. The show has various analysts ranging from experienced journalist to former football players.

Fútbol Picante runs for 60 minutes but the actual running time is less due to commercials. The show features a roundtable discussing the day's football headlines and scores along with interviews, reports, and highlights mostly involving Mexican football such as Liga MX and the Mexico national football team but also cover European football leagues and the UEFA Champions League.

Fútbol Picante is constantly one of the highest rated Spanish language sports shows both in the United States and Mexico.

The show is filmed in ESPN's Mexico studios in Mexico City.

Association football

Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a sport played between two teams of eleven players with a spherical ball. It is played by 250 million players in over 200 nations, making it the world's most popular sport. The game is played on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The object of the game is to score by getting the ball into the opposing goal.

The goalkeepers are the only players allowed to touch the ball with their hands or arms while it is in play and only in their penalty area. Outfield players mostly use their feet to strike or pass the ball, but may also use their head or torso to do so instead. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. If the score is level at the end of the game, either a draw is declared or the game goes into extra time and/or a penalty shootout depending on the format of the competition. The Laws of the Game were originally codified in England by The Football Association in 1863. Association football is governed internationally by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA; French: Fédération Internationale de Football Association), which organises World Cups for both men and women every four years.

Salsa roja picante

Salsa roja picante is a type of spicy red sauce in Mexican cuisine. It is made of jitomate or red tomato, ground with onion, garlic, cilantro, chile, salt and pepper to taste.

This red sauce comes in subtypes: cooked sauce, in which the ingredients are cooked and then ground; roasted salsa, in which the elements are roasted on a comal and then ground; raw sauce, in which ingredients are ground raw, ready to eat; and a combination in which some elements are roasted and other cooked. A molcajete or a blender can be used for the grinding process. After the sauce is prepared, it can be cooked again in a pan with little oil.

It is used to prepare traditional Mexican foods, in a mild spicy level for enchiladas and huevos rancheros, or more spicy for antojitos such as tacos and quesadillas.

Hugo Sánchez

Hugo Sánchez Márquez (born 11 July 1958) is a retired Mexican professional footballer and current manager. A prolific goalscorer known for his spectacular strikes and volleys, Sánchez is widely regarded as Mexico's greatest-ever footballer, and one of the greatest of his generation. In 1999, the International Federation of Football History and Statistics voted Sánchez the 26th best footballer of the 20th century, and the best footballer from the CONCACAF region. In 2004 Sánchez was named in the FIFA 100 list of the world's greatest living players. He is the fourth highest scorer in the history of Spain's top division.

He began his career playing for Club Universidad Nacional in 1976, and briefly on loan to the San Diego Sockers of the North American Soccer League in 1979. In 1981, Sánchez moved to Spain to play for Atlético Madrid, playing for the Colchoneros for four years before moving to cross-town rivals Real Madrid, where he would experience the best years of his career, winning numerous titles and accolades.
