Relayer is the seventh studio album from the English progressive rock band Yes, released in November 1974 on Atlantic Records. It is their only studio album recorded with keyboardist Patrick Moraz in the band's line-up; he joined in August that year after Rick Wakeman left over differences regarding Tales from Topographic Oceans (1973) to pursue his solo career.
Following Wakeman's decision to leave the band, the remaining members proceeded to work on new material for Relayer. The group wrote and rehearsed new songs and proceeded to record in Squire's home in Virginia Water, Surrey. The album saw Yes experiment with elements of funk and jazz fusion.
Upon release, Relayer further developed the band's success in the mid-1970s, peaking at number 4 in the UK and number 5 in the U.S. The closing section of "The Gates of Delirium", titled "Soon", was released as a single in January 1975. The album is certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
In May 1974, after the Tales from Topographic Oceans tour in support of their ambitious double album Tales from Topographic Oceans (1973) ended, keyboardist Rick Wakeman decided to leave Yes as he could not understand its concept and disagreed with the musical direction the band took. The band's line-up during this time included singer Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Steve Howe, and drummer Alan White.
The Gates were a group of gates comprising a site-specific work of art by Bulgarian artist Christo Yavacheff and French artist Jeanne-Claude, known jointly as Christo and Jeanne-Claude. The artists installed 7,503 vinyl "gates" along 23 miles (37 km) of pathways in Central Park in New York City. From each gate hung a panel of deep saffron-colored nylon fabric. The exhibit ran from February 12, 2005 through February 27, 2005.
The books and other memorabilia distributed by Christo and Jeanne-Claude refer to the project as The Gates, Central Park, New York, 1979–2005 in reference to the time that passed from the artists' initial proposal until they were able to go ahead with it.
The Gates were greeted with mixed reactions. Some people loved them for brightening the bleak winter landscape and encouraging late-night pedestrian traffic in Central Park; others hated them, accusing them of defacing the landscape. It was seen as an obstruction to bicyclists, who felt that the gates could cause accidents, although cycling was not legal on those paths. The artists received a great deal of their nationwide fame as a frequent object of ridicule by David Letterman, as well as by Keith Olbermann, whose apartment was nearby.

Gates of Delirium is a studio album by Midnight Syndicate, released March 3, 2001, by Entity Productions.
"The Gates of Delirium" is the first track on Yes’s 1974 album, Relayer. The song is based on Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace, and it begins with a lengthy vocal section followed by a long instrumental section (beginning at about the 8 minute mark) representing a battle. The final section, occurring about 16 minutes in, released as a single in 1975 entitled "Soon", is a very gentle, soothing prayer for peace and hope which represents the aftermath of the battle. Before the release of Open Your Eyes, the reissue of Tales from Topographic Oceans and the release of Fly from Here, this was the longest officially released studio recording by the band with almost 22 minutes, taking up the entire first side of the LP.
A loud crashing sound heard in the middle of the song is caused by a set of old automobile parts mounted on a rack being pushed over. The band decided to keep it in instead of doing another take. Alan White explains in the liner notes of the 2003 remaster of the album.

It was a week when I would have thought.
This sort of thing was a lie,
Mean't for a fairytale, a storyline, a movie plot.
You showed up when all was wrong.
Pulled me out of my troubled mind.
Now a weeks gone, it hasn't been long
I'm singing a new song, you are my one and only
But in 7 short days things just fell right into place
The days were long but you, you made them fly (you made them fly)
If I had an hour for every time that you broke out a smile in me
our storyline would never run out of time.
La Da Di Da, La Da Di Da, La Da Di Da
Day one you were a nameless face
I swore that you would be mine
No I couldn't afford to lose this time, just to anybody
I've been counting the hours that I put a name to the face
that promised myself would be mine no one else
But in 7 short days things just fell right into place
the days were long but you, you made them fly
If I had and hour for everytime that you broke out
a smile in me our storyline would never run out time.
La Da Di Da, La Da Di Da, LaDa Di Da
But I couldn't believe it when I said to myself
That it's only been a week, that you are this new to me
And I couldn't believe it when I thought to myself
this time is not a lie, this is our storyline
It was a week when I would have thought
