This is the infamous John E du Pont! I shot this video in 1988 for an awards banquet. Du Pont donated money to Crozier-Chester Hospital for their new trauma center. The hospital held a banquet in his honor where this video was shown! So if you are going to see the movie... Foxcatcher, you can learn a little about who he was...witness his strange and awkward demeanor...and no doubt compare this to how he is portrayed in the movie! Portions of this video were used by Inside Edition for the story they did in 1996 following the murder of Olympic wrestler Dave Schultz.

Hello, PlanetLighter here with another review of the S.T. Dupont line 2. This will be a part two or sequel to my first review of this lighter. After extensive testing for the past year, I am still quite impressed. There are a few drawbacks, however, but nothing that would be considered a deal breaker. As you can see, the finish has held up quite nicely. The small surface scratches that come with daily use, is what I consider the start to a lovely patina. Among it's many wonderful features, the ping is the most popular and distinctive of all. I will demonstrate.
On the bottom the lighter is two knobs. The knob on the left will adjust the flame, the one on the right is the fuel cap. One thing to consider is how much it costs to operate. In fourteen months, I changed the flint eight times, That's one whole pack of flints. And convenient enough for me, one flint lasted on fuel tank. Of course, only use black flints, made by S.T. Dupont. The individual butane capsules are convenient but it comes at a price. Each capsule has enough butane to fill the lighter completely one time.
At 8 dollars each, you can see how fast it adds up. As the pie chart indicates, it cost 68 dollars a year to operate.Here is how it compares to a refillable butane lighter that can accept a universal fuel like vector. That's precisely why you should use a leather case. I got this one from S.T. Dupont for about two hundred dollars. Well worth it for the protection it offers, in my opinion. But it is exceptional quality. When refilling, the first thing you will want to do is bleed the tank. I use the back of a plastic comb to gently press on the valve to release any remaining air or propellant. Please be careful not to damage the valve, it is fairly delicate. Now that its empty, I will clean the discolored areas around the burner. Press down on the pin and the slide will release, allowing access to the flint chamber. From here, you can replace the flint and remove the flint wheel for easy cleaning. There is even a compartment that holds an extra flint. Now I'm going to use a damp jewelry cleaning cloth to clean the discoloration. When it's clean enough, we can replace he flints and put it back together. Selecting the last flint in the pack, I will replace the spare flint to its compartment. I will use the back end of the comb to fit it place. Now replace the flint wheel, it can only go in one way. Ok, now I put the new flint in position, making sure it's in it's right place.
The only thing left to do is replace the slide and give the wheel a few spins to get it started.
The next step is to place the lighter in the freezer for about 20 minutes, or until cold.
While I wait, I will warm the butane canister in my hand. The extreme temperature difference will help the gas transfer. Twist the butane canister all the way until the diaphragm is pierced. Now twist in the opposite direction, until the gas starts to flow. Twist it slowly until all the gas is transferred.
It will happen quit rapidly so be prepared.
Ok, that's it, it's full. Now you can go ahead and replace the fuel cap. And you will want to wait a little while before striking to let the gas stabilize. Now I set the flame height at a medium level. And that's it, it's good for another two months.

C’est toute une famille qui a été tuée par arme à feu.
La mère Agnès de Ligonnès 49 ans et ses 4 enfants, Arthur 20 ans, Thomas 18 ans, Anne 16 ans et Benoît 13 ans.
Le père, Xavier, a disparu. Des proches confient aux enquêteurs un courrier reçu quelques jours avant la macabre découverte. Xavier les prévient du départ de toute la famille. Il annonce qu’il ne pourra pas donner de nouvelles en raison d’un programme de protection des témoins dont il fait l’objet aux Etats-Unis.
Vérifications faites auprès de l’Etat américain, ce programme n’a jamais existé.
Xavier de Ligonnès devient le suspect numéro 1. Les policiers de la PJ de Nantes cherchent alors à retrouver sa trace. Et plusieurs témoignages attestent de l’avoir vu vivant, dans le sud de
la France , en Italie et plus récemment en Corse.
Rumeurs ou faits réels ? L’homme est-il toujours vivant ? Qui pourrait l’aider dans sa cavale ? Toutes ces questions animent l’enquête. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company (NYSE: DD, DDPRB, DDPRA), commonly referred to as DuPont, is an American chemical company that was founded in July 1802 as a gunpowder mill by Eleuthère Irénée du Pont. DuPont was the world's third largest chemical company based on market capitalization and ninth based on revenue in 2009. Its stock price is a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
In the 20th century, DuPont developed many polymers such as Vespel, neoprene, nylon, Corian, Teflon, Mylar, Kevlar, Zemdrain, M5 fiber, Nomex, Tyvek, Sorona and Lycra. DuPont developed Freon (chlorofluorocarbons) for the refrigerant industry and later, more environmentally friendly refrigerants. It developed synthetic pigments and paints including ChromaFlair.
DuPont's trademarked brands often become genericized. For instance, “neoprene” was originally intended to be a trademark, but quickly came into common usage.
DuPont was founded in 1802 by Eleuthère Irénée du Pont, using capital raised in France and gunpowder machinery imported from France. The company was started at the Eleutherian Mills, on the Brandywine Creek, near Wilmington, Delaware two years after his family and he left France to escape the French Revolution. It began as a manufacturer of gunpowder, as du Pont noticed that the industry in North America was lagging behind Europe. The company grew quickly, and by the mid 19th century had become the largest supplier of gunpowder to the United States military, supplying half the powder used by the Union Army during the American Civil War. The Eleutherian Mills site was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1966 and is now a museum.

John E du Pont video Foxcatcher Farm - 1988
This is the infamous John E du Pont! I shot this video in 1988 for an awards banquet. Du Pont donated money to Crozier-Chester Hospital for their new trauma center. The hospital held a banquet in his honor where this video was shown! So if you are going to see the movie... Foxcatcher, you can learn a little about who he was...witness his strange and awkward demeanor...and no doubt compare this to how he is portrayed in the movie! Portions of this video were used by Inside Edition for the story they did in 1996 following the murder of Olympic wrestler Dave Schultz. -
S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 Lighter Review Revisited
Visit www.PlanetLighter.com for more information. Hello, PlanetLighter here with another review of the S.T. Dupont line 2. This will be a part two or sequel to my first review of this lighter. After extensive testing for the past year, I am still quite impressed. There are a few drawbacks, however, but nothing that would be considered a deal breaker. As you can see, the finish has held up quite nicely. The small surface scratches that come with daily use, is what I consider the start to a lovely patina. Among it's many wonderful features, the ping is the most popular and distinctive of all. I will demonstrate. On the bottom the lighter is two knobs. The knob on the left will adjust the flame, the one on the right is the fuel cap. One thing to consider is how much it costs to operate. In fourteen months, I changed the flint eight times, That's one whole pack of flints. And convenient enough for me, one flint lasted on fuel tank. Of course, only use black flints, made by S.T. Dupont. The individual butane capsules are convenient but it comes at a price. Each capsule has enough butane to fill the lighter completely one time. At 8 dollars each, you can see how fast it adds up. As the pie chart indicates, it cost 68 dollars a year to operate.Here is how it compares to a refillable butane lighter that can accept a universal fuel like vector. That's precisely why you should use a leather case. I got this one from S.T. Dupont for about two hundred dollars. Well worth it for the protection it offers, in my opinion. But it is exceptional quality. When refilling, the first thing you will want to do is bleed the tank. I use the back of a plastic comb to gently press on the valve to release any remaining air or propellant. Please be careful not to damage the valve, it is fairly delicate. Now that its empty, I will clean the discolored areas around the burner. Press down on the pin and the slide will release, allowing access to the flint chamber. From here, you can replace the flint and remove the flint wheel for easy cleaning. There is even a compartment that holds an extra flint. Now I'm going to use a damp jewelry cleaning cloth to clean the discoloration. When it's clean enough, we can replace he flints and put it back together. Selecting the last flint in the pack, I will replace the spare flint to its compartment. I will use the back end of the comb to fit it place. Now replace the flint wheel, it can only go in one way. Ok, now I put the new flint in position, making sure it's in it's right place. The only thing left to do is replace the slide and give the wheel a few spins to get it started. The next step is to place the lighter in the freezer for about 20 minutes, or until cold. While I wait, I will warm the butane canister in my hand. The extreme temperature difference will help the gas transfer. Twist the butane canister all the way until the diaphragm is pierced. Now twist in the opposite direction, until the gas starts to flow. Twist it slowly until all the gas is transferred. It will happen quit rapidly so be prepared. Ok, that's it, it's full. Now you can go ahead and replace the fuel cap. And you will want to wait a little while before striking to let the gas stabilize. Now I set the flame height at a medium level. And that's it, it's good for another two months. Vérifications faites auprès de l’Etat américain, ce programme n’a jamais existé. Xavier de Ligonnès devient le suspect numéro 1. Les policiers de la PJ de Nantes cherchent alors à retrouver sa trace. Et plusieurs témoignages attestent de l’avoir vu vivant, dans le sud de la France , en Italie et plus récemment en Corse. Rumeurs ou faits réels ? L’homme est-il toujours vivant ? Hello, PlanetLighter here with another review of the S.T. Dupont line 2. This will be a part two or sequel to my first review of this lighter. After extensive testing for the past year, I am still quite impressed. There are a few drawbacks, however, but nothing that would be considered a deal breaker. As you can see, the finish has held up quite nicely. The small surface scratches that come with daily use, is what I consider the start to a lovely patina. Among it's many wonderful features, the ping is the most popular and distinctive of all. I will demonstrate.
On the bottom the lighter is two knobs. The knob on the left will adjust the flame, the one on the right is the fuel cap. One thing to consider is how much it costs to operate. In fourteen months, I changed the flint eight times, That's one whole pack of flints. And convenient enough for me, one flint lasted on fuel tank. Of course, only use black flints, made by S.T. Dupont. The individual butane capsules are convenient but it comes at a price. Each capsule has enough butane to fill the lighter completely one time.
At 8 dollars each, you can see how fast it adds up. As the pie chart indicates, it cost 68 dollars a year to operate.Here is how it compares to a refillable butane lighter that can accept a universal fuel like vector. That's precisely why you should use a leather case. I got this one from S.T. Dupont for about two hundred dollars. Well worth it for the protection it offers, in my opinion. But it is exceptional quality. When refilling, the first thing you will want to do is bleed the tank. I use the back of a plastic comb to gently press on the valve to release any remaining air or propellant. Please be careful not to damage the valve, it is fairly delicate. Now that its empty, I will clean the discolored areas around the burner. Press down on the pin and the slide will release, allowing access to the flint chamber. From here, you can replace the flint and remove the flint wheel for easy cleaning. There is even a compartment that holds an extra flint. Now I'm going to use a damp jewelry cleaning cloth to clean the discoloration. When it's clean enough, we can replace he flints and put it back together. Selecting the last flint in the pack, I will replace the spare flint to its compartment. I will use the back end of the comb to fit it place. Now replace the flint wheel, it can only go in one way. Ok, now I put the new flint in position, making sure it's in it's right place.
The only thing left to do is replace the slide and give the wheel a few spins to get it started.
The next step is to place the lighter in the freezer for about 20 minutes, or until cold.
While I wait, I will warm the butane canister in my hand. The extreme temperature difference will help the gas transfer. Twist the butane canister all the way until the diaphragm is pierced. Now twist in the opposite direction, until the gas starts to flow. Twist it slowly until all the gas is transferred.
It will happen quit rapidly so be prepared.
Ok, that's it, it's full. Now you can go ahead and replace the fuel cap. And you will want to wait a little while before striking to let the gas stabilize. Now I set the flame height at a medium level. And that's it, it's good for another two months.

La mère Agnès de Ligonnès 49 ans et ses 4 enfants, Arthur 20 ans, Thomas 18 ans, Anne 16 ans et Benoît 13 ans.
Le père, Xavier, a disparu. Des proches confient aux enquêteurs un courrier reçu quelques jours avant la macabre découverte. Xavier les prévient du départ de toute la famille. Il annonce qu’il ne pourra pas donner de nouvelles en raison d’un programme de protection des témoins dont il fait l’objet aux Etats-Unis.
Vérifications faites auprès de l’Etat américain, ce programme n’a jamais existé.
Xavier de Ligonnès devient le suspect numéro 1. Les policiers de la PJ de Nantes cherchent alors à retrouver sa trace. Et plusieurs témoignages attestent de l’avoir vu vivant, dans le sud de
la France , en Italie et plus récemment en Corse.
Rumeurs ou faits réels ? L’homme est-il toujours vivant ? Qui pourrait l’aider dans sa cavale ? Toutes ces questions animent l’enquête. E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company, commonly referred to as DuPont, is an American chemical company that was founded in July 1802 as a gunpowder mill by Éleuthère Irénée du Pont. DuPont was the world's third largest chemical company based on market capitalization[citation needed] and ninth based on revenue in 2012. Its stock price is a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
In the 20th century, DuPont developed many polymers such as Vespel, neoprene, nylon, Corian, Teflon, Mylar, Kevlar, Zemdrain, M5 fiber, Nomex, Tyvek, Sorona and Lycra. DuPont developed Freon (chlorofluorocarbons) for the refrigerant industry, and later more environmentally friendly refrigerants. It developed synthetic pigments and paints including ChromaFlair.
In 1902, DuPont's president, Eugene du Pont, died, and the surviving partners sold the company to three great-grandsons of the original founder. The company subsequently purchased several smaller chemical companies, and in 1912 these actions gave rise to government scrutiny under the Sherman Antitrust Act. The courts declared that the company's dominance of the explosives business constituted a monopoly and ordered divestment. The court ruling resulted in the creation of the Hercules Powder Company (later Hercules Inc. and now part of Ashland Inc.) and the Atlas Powder Company (purchased by Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) and now part of AkzoNobel). At the time of divestment, DuPont retained the single base nitrocellulose powders, while Hercules held the double base powders combining nitrocellulose and nitroglycerine. DuPont subsequently developed the Improved Military Rifle (IMR) line of smokeless powders.
In 1910, DuPont published a brochure entitled "Farming with Dynamite". The pamphlet was instructional, outlining the benefits to using their dynamite products on stumps and various other obstacles that would be easier to remove with dynamite as opposed to other more conventional, inefficient means.
DuPont also established two of the first industrial laboratories in the United States, where they began the work on cellulose chemistry, lacquers and other non-explosive products. DuPont Central Research was established at the DuPont Experimental Station, across the Brandywine Creek from the original powder mills.
Automotive investments: 1914
In 1914, Pierre S. du Pont invested in the fledgling automobile industry, buying stock in General Motors (GM). The following year he was invited to sit on GM's board of directors and would eventually be appointed the company's chairman. The DuPont company would assist the struggling automobile company further with a $25 million purchase of GM stock. In 1920, Pierre S. du Pont was elected president of General Motors. Under du Pont's guidance, GM became the number one automobile company in the world. However, in 1957, because of DuPont's influence within GM, further action under the Clayton Antitrust Act forced DuPont to divest itself of its shares of General Motors.
In the 1920s, DuPont continued its emphasis on materials science, hiring Wallace Carothers to work on polymers in 1928. Carothers invented neoprene, a synthetic rubber;[8] the first polyester superpolymer; and, in 1935, nylon. The invention of Teflon followed a few years later. DuPont introduced phenothiazine as an insecticide in 1935.

DuPont ranked 15th among United States corporations in the value of wartime production contracts. As the inventor and manufacturer of nylon, DuPont helped produce the raw materials for parachutes, powder bags, and tires.

Australia is looking to the US and China for help after discovering damage to the national icebreaker, the Aurora Australis, which remains stuck on Antarctic rocks in gale force winds with 68 people aboard. The crew found the hull of the ship had been breached, flooding water into an area used for ballast water. The Australian Antarctic Division said there was no risk to the icebreaker's stability, or of it leaking fuel....
