Shawn Adam Levy (born July 23, 1968[citation needed]) is a Canadian-American actor, director and producer who directed the comedy films Big Fat Liar, Just Married, Cheaper by the Dozen, The Pink Panther, Night at the Museum, Date Night, and the sci-fi action film Real Steel. Cumulatively, Levy's films have grossed 2 billion dollars at the worldwide box office, making him one of the most commercially successful filmmakers of the past decade. He has also directed many television shows, including Cousin Skeeter, The Famous Jett Jackson and Pepper Dennis.
Levy was born in Montreal, Quebec, to Jewish parents.[citation needed] As a teenager, he attended St.George's High School and Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center in New York. Levy graduated from Yale University in 1989 majoring in Performing Arts. Levy has a production deal with 20th Century Fox. He is producing the upcoming Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill comedy Neighborhood Watch, being directed by Akiva Schaffer, as well as over a dozen projects in development for production in the near future. These include Rosaline, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, The Berenstain Bears, 10 Best Days of My Life, Fight Before Christmas, Alone for the Holidays, Fancy Nancy, The Three Misfortunes of Geppetto, and The Deadliest Warrior. His newly formed television company, 21 Laps/Adelstein, produced the ABC hit Last Man Standing with Tim Allen. He has also been announced as the director of Fox's new Frankenstein adaptation and the James Cameron-produced 3D sci-fi remake Fantastic Voyage.
