The site encompasses a trio of landmarks, built on the site of the former George's Dock and referred to since at least 2000 as "The Three Graces":
Also on the site is the grade II listed Mersey Tunnel building, to the east of the Port of Liverpool building. It was built in the 1930s and contains offices and ventilator equipment for the Queensway Tunnel.
By the 1890s the George's Dock, built in 1771, was essentially redundant. It was the third dock built in Liverpool, and was too small and too shallow in depth for the commercial ships of the late 19th century. Most of the site was owned by the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board, set up by Parliament in 1857; a small part of the site still was still held by the Corporation of the City of Liverpool. The Board and the Corporation had differing priorities, and the former were not inclined to forgo any commercial advantage for the benefit of the latter.

The light house at the south pierhead in South Haven, Michigan needs extensive restoration due to years of corrosion and lack of maintenance. Rising from the coastal plains of West Lancashire, Liverpool’s fortunes have been tied to the ocean for over 800 years. Once England’s gateway to the world, the enormous wealth that trade brought into the city was ploughed back into the city’s skyline.
In the heart of Liverpool, by the banks of the city’s beloved river, is Pier Head. Wander across this floating pier, where the excitement and teary farewells of Transatlantic steamship passengers once filled the air. Behind Pier Head, rises Liverpool’s crown, The Three Graces. I normally don’t like to travel quickly, but this trip to Koh Samui was a quick one - the reason is because we already had some family commitments back in Bangkok, and because we’re getting ready to take a trip to Taiwan and on the the Philippines very soon. So we only ended up staying in Samui for 4 nights, 5 days, and then we needed to get back home.
These three buildings stand as a testament to both Liverpool’s former trading might, and the city’s eternal love of beauty.
Upriver from Pier Head, is the Albert Docks. Once packed with goods such as brandy, tea, ivory and tobacco, today the docks are the storehouses of many of the city’s historic treasures.
Explore Liverpool’s oceangoing past, from the ages of sail, to Titanic stories of loss and sacrifice at the Merseyside Maritime Museum. Next door, the acclaimed International Slavery Museum is a sobering reminder that the bricks of Liverpool were mortared with the blood and sweat of Africa.
The UK’s premier art intuition, the Tate, exhibits works from the national collection here at its northern home by the Mersey.
Climb aboard the Yellow Submarine and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the Fab Four across the dock at The Beatles Story. Continue your Magical Mystery Tour down the stairs at 10 Matthew Street. In the early 1960s, The Beatles performed at Cavern Club almost 300 times.
Liverpool is England’s most successful footballing city. At Anfield Road Stadium, stand before the statue of the Liverpool manager who uttered the immortal words, “Football is not a matter of life or death,…it’s far, far more important than that.”
Welcome to Liverpool, where each day is a voyage into a spectacular past, and a bright bold future as well.

The following travel video is a comprehensive list of the best 35 Things to do in Chicago including all of the top Attractions worth visiting and seeing in this complete travel guide for the Windy City.
Many people don't realize this but Chicago is a world class city with festivals, arts, entertainment, dining and architecture that can rival any city in North America or even Europe. The only other city that I think can compare with Chicago - in terms of attractions - in America is New York. Whether you're scarfing down Chicago style deep dish pizza or taking in a Blues festival you'll find no shortage of things to do in the city. If you're a sport fan there are no shortage of professional teams to follow at any time of the year including the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears and the Chicago Bulls. When you're thinking of destination to travel to in the United States, Chicago should be near the top of your list. I guarantee that you'll have a lot of fun:
1) Chicago Architecture and Chicago River Walk
2) Chicago River Boat Trip
3) Kayaking along the Chicago River
4) Cloud Gate - The Bean
5) Millennium Park
6) Pavilion 'Free Shows'
7) Art Institute of Chicago
8) Watch a Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field
9) Eat Deep Dish Pizza
10) Visit the sky deck at Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower)
11) Stroll around the University of Chicago campus
12) Check out the Oriental Institute of History
13) Marvel and escape the bustle at Osaka Garden
14) Enjoy an afternoon or evening at Wicker Park
15) Relax and escape at Humboldt Park
16) Check out the Dinosaur exhibits at the Chicago Field Museum
17) Visit the Shedd Aquarium - the largest indoor one in the world
18) Watch a Chicago Blackhawks game at the United Center
19) Check out the 'Borders' exhibit at Solti Gardens of Grant Park
20) Admire Buckingham Fountain during the day or at night
21) View the Chicago skyline from the Hancock Center
22) Spend an afternoon having fun at Navy Pier
23) Wander around Lincoln Park Zoo and Conservatory
24) Work out or get a tan at North Avenue Beach
25) Laugh your head off watching improv at The Second City
26) Test your mind playing the Zombie Game
27) Go shopping or people watching along the Magnificent Mile
28) Take the Chicago 'El or 'L' CTA metro system
29) Watch an NFL football game (Chicago Bears) at Soldier Field
30) Check out the entirely free Money Museum
31) Ride a bicycle in downtown Chicago
32) Spend time at the Museum of Science and Technology
33) Marvel at the architectural wonder known as Robbie House
34) Rest your legs by taking a Chicago city tour by Segway
35) Check out a performance at Chicago Theatre
We got to see buildings like Marina City, Trump Tower, and Wrigley Building. Architecture river tours are a fun way to take in the sights along the river. If you find yourself here during the summer months kayaking is a popular way to experience the Chicago River. The Crown Fountain is a cool interactive sculpture located in Millennium Park. Art lovers will enjoy the Art Institute of Chicago. Taking in a Chicago Cubs baseball game at Wrigley field is a must for anyone who visits the city. You can't come to Chicago and not eat deep-dish pizza! During our week here we ate at many pizzerias in town including Lou Malnati's, Giordano's, Gino's East Side, and Pizzeria Uno. Formerly known as the Sears Tower, Willis Tower is now the 2nd tallest building in the United States. Many of the buildings at the University of Chicago were designed in the Gothic style. The campus is also home to the Oriental Institute. The Osaka Garden is located in Jackson Park
which is in Chicago's South Side. If you visit Wicker Park you'll find it has a very hipster feel, with lots of street art down every alley. Humboldt Park is a little far removed from the downtown area so it's not as popular with visitors, however, it's a really great place to soak in nature. For a chance to come face to face with dinosaurs, head over to the Field Museum. Right next door is the Shedd Aquarium which is a popular attraction for families. Visit the John Hancock Center by night as the city really dazzles from the 94th floor. The Navy Pier is a fun place to visit on a weekend including a Ferris Wheel. Located in the north end of the city, North Avenue Beach is a popular hangout spot with beach-goers. For improv comedy there's no better place than The Second City. The Magnificent Mile is a shopper's paradise. The Chicago L, or the elevated line, is great for getting around town. A week pass is $28. The Divvy is Chicago's bike sharing system. Chicago's Museum of Science and Technology is the largest science museum. It's hard to miss the flashing lights of the historic Chicago Theatre! Music has creative commons attribution license:

For a relaxing city break, Brisbane is the perfect place to visit. Start your trip with a trip to the top of the clock tower for city views to get your bearings.
South Bank Parklands is a great place to take the family, start with the wheel of Brisbane for great views of the river, take the kids to the playground and then go for a dip at the manmade beach.
Art lovers should head to the Gallery of Modern Art and the Queensland Art Gallery located not far from South Bank.
Visit the highest peak in Brisbane for stunning views of the city at Mt Coot-tha and take a stroll along the walking trails. If you don't fancy walking to the top, browse the botanic gardens and parklands at the base.
The kids will love a trip to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, hold the koalas and hand feed the kangaroos.
To end your day, there are some great restaurants in South Bank and along the river at Eagle Street Pier. West End and New Farm also have some great cafes and restaurants.
If you'd like to carry on your night at one of the many bars or clubs head to Fortitude Valley.

We started the day off at our hotel, Lazy Days Samui Beach Resort, by first having breakfast, then doing some work in the morning.
Towards the middle of the morning, we packed our bags, and walked out to the main road to catch a public transportation truck back to Nathon, the pier town in order to catch a ferry back to the mainland part of Surat Thani. We waited for about 10 minutes until our ride came, and we arrived back to Nathon at about lunch time and we were both hungry. There were some restaurants, but we didn’t have much time explore and choose a good place, so we stopped at a place right along the road that looked alright. We had a number of different curries and dishes and Ying had some soup. The food was alright, but nothing too special.
After lunch we headed off to the Seatran ferry office on the pier to buy our tickets, but to our disappointment, the office said they couldn’t sell us tickets from the ferry to the bus to the airport. Instead we had to walk all the way back into town to a place called Panthip Travel to buy the ferry bus combination tickets which cost 400 THB. We had about an hour, so stopped to have a coffee and proceeded.
That was all for Koh Samui, we got on the Seatran ferry which took us to a bus where we went back to Surat Thani International Airport and then caught our flight back to Bangkok.
I want to say a big thank you for watching this series of Koh Samui travel videos. If you’re have seen all the videos in the series, here’s the full playlist starting from Day 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKWr14KES6Q&index;=1&list;=PLeoy0zUu6bqlq-PMy4IrIwLBkjq6IEJ7t
That completes Day 5 of our short trip to Koh Samui.

Once a Spring Break hot spot for college students, Fort Lauderdale has gradually evolved into an upscale resort town in Florida that is full of museums, bars, restaurants, and excellent shopping.
We hope you like water, because your Fort Lauderdale tour will feature beaches, ponds, and the canals that link the Everglades to the Atlantic Ocean. You’ll also see some jaw-dropping vehicles, from high-end yachts to powerful sports cars, all of them brought down by “snowbirds”: travelers from northern states staying in Florida to escape harsh winters.
When you aren’t fishing from the piers, swimming at the beaches, or shopping at Las Olas Boulevard, your Fort Lauderdale sightseeing should include a trip to the various historic locations. Why not look at the King-Cromartie House, which is part of the Riverwalk Tour? While there, you’ll get a good idea of what life was like in early 20th-century Fort Lauderdale. Here’s a hint—it wasn’t all shopping.
Head to Sunrise Boulevard (north of Las Olas Boulevard) to continue your Fort Lauderdale sightseeing. Along “The Strip,” you can wander around in your swimsuit and flip-flops, ducking in and out of stores and restaurants and interspersing your activities with trips to the beach to sunbathe. Don’t forget your sunscreen!
Enjoy the sun and sand of Fort Lauderdale. What beach are you going to visit first?

The first in a new series of route learning videos for the Isle of Wight route in Railworks/Train Simulator 2015. On this journey we will be driving from Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin in a Class 483 train. Any comments, compliments or suggestions for improvements or future videos will be gladly received.
Apologies for and lag or stutter in the video - this is unfortunately beyond my control. Also apologies for my voice sounding a bit tinny - this is due to the recording quality in FRAPS.

The light house at the south pierhead in South Haven, Michigan needs extensive restoration due to years of corrosion and lack of maintenance. You would not know the lighthouse needed work by observing it from the harbor entrance of this Southwest Michigan town. It has been standing guard here since 1903.
This video tells the story of the challenge facing the Historical Association of South Haven (HASH) as they are responsible for its restoration and maintenance.
