Outside Television (formerly RSN Television) is a Direct-broadcast satellite network operated by Mariah Media which publishes Outside Magazine that creates and distributes outdoor lifestyle and resort-based sports programs to a network of stations across the United States

The network was founded in partnership by Mariah Media Inc, publisher of Outside magazine, and Resort Sports Network (RSN) to bring Outside's award-winning coverage to life. The joint venture united two prominent leaders with large bases of both active and affluent consumers in the active-lifestyle categories.

Outside Television was the result of a complete rebranding of the existing Resort Sports Network, the national television network that specialized in creating and distributing outdoor-lifestyle content to premier vacation destinations throughout the country.

As of June 2010 Outside Television was in 110 resort markets representing 61 million potential viewers.

Outside Television has a corporate office in Westport, CT and a main office in Portland, ME. Its sales office is in the Graybar Building at 420 Lexington in New York City.

Gerry Lopez (born November 7, 1948), aka Mr. Pipeline, is an American surfer, shaper, journalist, and film actor.

Lopez was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, grew up in East Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, and attended Punahou School. He frequented the semi secret reefs in and around Aina Haina as well as better known surf spots in Metro-Honolulu. An early reference point for his sleek and precise style was the graceful Paul Strauch, whom Lopez still credits as "the most stylish surfer ever." Lopez became the Hawaii State Champ at age 14, and he and friend Reno Abellira began surfing Ala Moana Bowls frequently. It is here that Lopez began honing his casual style and masterful tube riding skills.

Lopez and friends began to migrate out to Oahu's North Shore, where they watched surfers like Butch Van Artsdalen and Jock Sutherland ride the hollow waves of the Banzai Pipeline. As surfboard designs began to integrate "downrailer" edges, curve, foil, and rocker, the vertical drops and thick tubes of Pipeline became survivable. Not long after, performance levels at big Pipeline exploded, led by Lopez.

Aron Lee Ralston (born October 27, 1975) is an American outdoorsman, engineer and motivational speaker.

He is widely known for having survived a canyoneering accident in south-eastern Utah in 2003, during which he was forced to amputate his own right arm with a dull multi-tool in order to free himself from a dislodged boulder, which had trapped him there for five days and seven hours. Even after he had escaped, he still had to climb down a 65 foot (around 20m) sheer cliff face to reach safety.

The incident is documented in Ralston's autobiography Between a Rock and a Hard Place, and is the subject of the film 127 Hours.

Ralston was born on October 27, 1975, in Indianapolis, but he and his family moved to Denver when he was age 11. He is a graduate of Cherry Creek High School in Greenwood Village, Colorado. He received his college degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, finishing with degrees in mechanical engineering and French, with a minor in piano. At Carnegie Mellon, he served as a resident assistant, studied abroad, and was an active intramural sports participant. He left his job as a mechanical engineer with Intel in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2002 in order to pursue a life of climbing mountains. He had the goal of climbing all of Colorado's "fourteeners" — peaks over 14,000 ft high, of which there are 53 or 54, depending upon the definition parameters — solo and during winter (a feat that had never been recorded). He has subsequently achieved this goal.

Stephanie Louise Gilmore is an Australian professional surfer and four-time world champion on the Women's ASP World Tour (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010). She was born in Murwillumbah, New South Wales, Australia on 29 January 1988 and currently resides in Tweed Heads, New South Wales, Australia.

Gilmore's life as a surfer began at age 10 when she stood on a bodyboard. By age 17 she was entering world tour events as a wild card competitor, which paid off with a victory at the 2005 Roxy Pro Gold Coast. In her next season she won another wild card event, the 2006 Havaianas Beachley Classic. Gilmore's success on the WQS (World Qualifying Series) tour qualified her for the 2007 Women's ASP World Tour and she did not disappoint. She won four of the eight events and claimed the 2007 World Title. She would repeat her success in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

Gilmore also won the inaugural Swatch Girls Pro France in 2010.

She appeared nude in ESPN's 2011 "Body Issue."

Gilmore is also on the Board of Advisors (the Ocean Advocacy Advisory Board) of ocean conservation organization Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.

Rochelle Ballard is a professional female surfer who is a 10 year veteran the Association of Surfing Professional’s (ASP) World Championship Tour. She is considered the best female tube rider in the world and has been a pioneer to the advancement of women’s surfing in the past two decades. Ballard's mastery of big waves and support of women's surfing rank her among the surfing most elite. She also co-founded International Women's Surfing (IWS) and has appeared in several movies and television shows, most notably Step Into Liquid, Blue Crush, and Beyond the Break.

According to imdb.com, Rochelle Gordines was born in Montebello, CA. on February 13, 1971. Her parents moved to the island of Kauai in Hawaii when she was six months old. The waves in Kauai are considered as some of the best in world and with the encouragement of four-time World Champion and Kauai resident Margo Oberg, she started surfing at 12 years old. Oberg had been a top surfing professional for more than three decades and was a mentor to Rochelle when she was first learning to surf the massive and dangerous waves that seasonally come to Kauai’s north shore.
