A government is the system by which a state or community is controlled. In the Commonwealth of Nations, the word government is also used more narrowly to refer to the collective group of people that exercises executive authority in a state. This usage is analogous to what is called an "administration" in American English. Furthermore, especially in American English, the concepts of the state and the government may be used synonymously to refer to the person or group of people exercising authority over a politically organized territory. Finally, government is also sometimes used in English as a synonym for governance.
In the case of its broad associative definition, government normally consists of legislators, administrators, and arbitrators. Government is the means by which state policy is enforced, as well as the mechanism for determining the policy of the state. A form of government, or form of state governance, refers to the set of political systems and institutions that make up the organisation of a specific government.
A fish is any member of a paraphyletic group of organisms that consist of all gill-bearing aquatic craniate animals that lack limbs with digits. Included in this definition are the living hagfish, lampreys, and cartilaginous and bony fish, as well as various extinct related groups. Most fish are ectothermic ("cold-blooded"), allowing their body temperatures to vary as ambient temperatures change, though some of the large active swimmers like white shark and tuna can hold a higher core temperature. Fish are abundant in most bodies of water. They can be found in nearly all aquatic environments, from high mountain streams (e.g., char and gudgeon) to the abyssal and even hadal depths of the deepest oceans (e.g., gulpers and anglerfish). With 33,100 described species, fish exhibit greater species diversity than any other group of vertebrates.
Fish are an important resource for humans worldwide, especially as food. Commercial and subsistence fishers hunt fish in wild fisheries (see fishing) or farm them in ponds or in cages in the ocean (see aquaculture). They are also caught by recreational fishers, kept as pets, raised by fishkeepers, and exhibited in public aquaria. Fish have had a role in culture through the ages, serving as deities, religious symbols, and as the subjects of art, books and movies.
Nitesh Narayan Rane (Marathi: नितेश नारायण राणे) is a youth leader and a member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for the Kankavli vidhansabha constituency. he is the head of the non-governmental organization "Swabhiman Sanghatana". He is the younger son of former chief minister and senior Congress politician Narayan Rane.
Nitesh Rane was born in Mumbai to Neelam Rane and Narayan Rane, a senior Congress leader from Maharashtra on 23 June 1982. He is an MBA professional and studied in the United Kingdom along with his elder brother Nilesh. He returned to India to join politics and help his father when his father decided to quit Shiv Sena in 2005 and join Congress.
Rane started his career by founding Swabhiman Sanghatana which raises social issues in areas of youth unemployment, health services, basic amenities throughout Maharashtra, and mainly in Mumbai. He was also the general secretary of Youth Congress, Mumbai but resigned from his post in December 2008 because of the conflict between him and other local Congress leaders. At the onset of summer of 2010, the organization launched a toll free helpline where citizens could register their complaints against the private water supply tankers. Rane stated that the private tankers charged exorbitant prices ranging from anything between 6 to 25 times the rate set by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. He blamed the Shiv Sena-BJP administered BMC for their failure to curb "water-mafia".

John and I made a trip out to reef #6 on Friday. I have found a few more unmarked piles of structure and was amazed at how many Red Snapper and Black Sea Bass were on them. All of the BSB were 11.5" or under but there were so many RS, we should have been legally allowed to bring 1 or 2 home.

It was a rough and short day on the water as the winds and waves continued to build and I headed in after only a couple hours of fishing. Other than bait, the only thing I caught were the overly abundant Red Snapper (Government Fish) that are just everywhere. But, a friend from Palm Coast, David, joined me and caught his first ever Red Snapper at 16" long.. Congratulations David..! Had a fan in Tennessee who goes out in the rivers there like I like to do here in the ocean and catch BIG fish. This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. A notorious story about a small endangered fish that traveled far through the corridors of American government; also a parable about citizen action, a parable perhaps even more useful because it’s true. Deemed “The Most Extreme Environmental Case Ever”, Zygmunt Plater and a team students in Tennessee used the endangered little “snail darter” fish to help several hundred family farmers and fishermen block a pork-barrel dam that was going to destroy far more—in economic and ecological term—than it ever could produce. A double takeaway: “Good Ecology equals Good Economics” and “The governance of society is too important to leave it up to those who govern us.” Zygmunt Plater is seasoned teacher of en...

In 1962, Dryden Chemicals, a paper mill located in Dryden in northwestern Ontario began dumping mercury in the English Wabigoon river system. In the space of almost ten years, Dryden pumped 10 metric tons of mercury into the river system; mercury that poisoned the fish, and whoever ate those fish. In the year 1970 the Ontario government issued a warning against eating fish from the Wabigoon river system and later on claimed that the water had been purified, until the claim was called into question by Judy and her community; a question that made Judy open her eyes to a crisis that had for so long overtaken her land; a question that now brings Judy and her community thousands of kilometers to Toronto and Ottawa to protest, raise awareness and demand justice. Date: Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 10 AM Pacific Daylight Time Presenter: Dr. Scott A. Bonar Abstract: Fish species found in North American deserts represent some of the most unique, rare taxa in the world. Because these fishes live in aquatic “islands”- i.e., springs, streams and rivers separated from other water bodies by vast, harsh deserts- they have evolved to cope with life on the edge in their aquatic environments. Fish in arid lands are diverse, ranging from pupfish that inhabit small drying springs 40°C and almost five times the salinity of seawater; to some of the most southern trout species in North America; to the largest minnow in North America, a fish nearly 2 m long. A changing climate is putting these species at critical risk. Here I show how the habitat of these fishes i...
