At age 18, she moved to Ottawa to go to Carleton University. While at university, she saw an ad for an intern position at a local label, CP Records and after a year working, offered to perform backup dancing.
She released her debut album titled Devotion, in August 2011. Her first single release was a cover version of Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina's "Stereo Love". It reached number 10 in the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 in November 2010 and also reached platinum sales. In late 2010, Don Omar collaborated with Mia Martina to release a remix version of "Stereo Love".
Now that your life is so broken hearted
I'm at your mercy
I hope you find what you're searching for
Now that you're free
And when the world fills you day with sorrow
Will you think of me
I hope that you never lose your way home
Like i'm losing me
I can hear your voice when you're whispering
Though you're miles away
And i can feel your weight on the back of my spirit
Miles away
Only in my dreams i can see your face
'cause you're miles away
And i can feel your weight on the back of my spirit
Miles away
Love, i'm sorry 'bout the way we parted
Spare a way for me to get some time from your busy schedule
Don't reject me
And i was hoping that there might be something that you might feel
If i got on my knees and pleaded
'cause i'm losing me
I can hear your voice when you're whispering
Though you're miles away
And i can feel your weight on the back of my spirit
Miles away
Only in my dreams i can see your face
'cause you're miles away
And i can feel your weight on the back of my spirit
Miles away
If i could go back in time
And make all the wrongs right
Then maybe i could find a way
To brace the night
Miles, miles, miles, miles, you're so far away
I can't let you slip away
Miles, miles, miles, miles, you're so far away
You're so far away
(x2) i can hear your voice when you're whispering
Though you're miles away
And i can feel your weight on the back of my spirit
Miles away
Only in my dreams i can see your face
'cause you're miles away
And i can feel your weight on the back of my spirit
