Pyrgos Dirou
Pyrgos Dirou (Greek: Πύργος Διρού) is a town in Mani, Laconia, Greece. It is part of the municipal unit of Oitylo. It is around 26 kilometres from Areopoli.
History
The Battle of Vergas (Greek War of Independence, 1824) took place near Diro.
Diro is most famous for its caves, the Diros Caves, located approximately 12 miles south of Areopolis. They form part of an underground river. About 5,000 meters have been exposed and are accessible by small boats and through narrow passageways. One is surrounded by formations of stalagmites and stalactites. Archaeological research has shown that the caves served as places of worship in Paleolithic and Neolithic times and their inhabitant believed that the caves were the entrance to the underworld.

"Ho ho ho" is a textual rendition of a particular type of deep-throated laugh or chuckle. Most associated today with Santa Claus and Father Christmas, it was connected in the 17th century with the English mythological figure of Puck.
The laughter of Santa Claus has long been an important attribute by which the character is identified, but it also does not appear in many non-English-speaking countries. The traditional Christmas poem A Visit from St. Nicholas relates that Santa has:

Supposedly, the firm claimed that the laugh, when used loudly, could be frightening to children and could even be considered derogatory to women, and recommended that a Santa lowering his voice and saying "ha ha ha" might be more welcoming. However, these legends have been proven false.

Diro is most famous for its caves, the Diros Caves, located approximately 12 miles south of Areopolis. They form part of an underground river. About 5,000 meters have been exposed and are accessible by small boats and through narrow passageways. One is surrounded by formations of stalagmites and stalactites. Kalamari waterfall near Pylos, Peloponnese
Kalamari waterfall is one of the most attractive sites of the area of Pylos. It is easily accessible by car and is about 100 metres from the parking area. Not many people are aware of this place, as it is not publicised by travel sites. The waterfall basin is not deep and it can safely be used for swimming for both adults and children.

In this clip, I have a hard time holding the camera steady as I take "going local" with my guides to a very tasty extreme. Gia mas!

The Corinth Canal Greece (Greek: Διώρυγα της Κορίνθου, Dhioryga tis Korinthou) is a canal that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, thus effectively making the former peninsula an island. The builders dug the canal through the Isthmus at sea level; no locks are employed. It is 6.4 kilometres (4 mi) in length and only 21.4 metres (70 ft) wide at its base, making it impassable for most modern ships. It now has little economic importance.
The canal was mooted in classical times and an abortive effort was made to build it in the 1st century AD. Construction finally got under way in 1881 but was hampered by geological and financial problems that bankrupted the original builders. It was completed in 1893 but, due to the canal's narrowness, navigational problems and periodic closures to repair landslides from its steep walls, it failed to attract the level of traffic expected by its operators. It is now used mainly for tourist traffic.
