Detroit rapper Danny Brown's latest album functions in extremes. They're not really the angry, voluminous extremes the latest Death Grips album functions on. They're more like extremes of excess. Of course, what Danny is being excessive with is drugs, sex, misogyny, and basically anything else that one can have too much of.
Though it's nothing new to hear someone rapping about this stuff, Danny takes it from a darker angle. The drugs and sex on this album don't really feel all that flashy or commendable. Instead, it's shocking enough to make a listener wanna go Mormon.
The flows are hard, the beats are pretty experimental, and I'm totally down with this guy's outlandish lyricism. Loving it.

Amanda Wilson
Amanda Wilson (born 13 April 1980) is a British singer. She is a member of house music act Freemasons. As part of the act she has scored two major UK hit singles, one of which went on to success in several European charts, and the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs. Amanda also scored another major UK and worldwide smash hit working with Avicii and Samuele Sartini on "Seek Bromance" in 2010.
Background
Wilson provided lead vocals on the track "When We Were in Love", which made it to the semi final of The Great British Song Contest 1998 to select the UK's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. She has a four octave vocal range and her vocals have been compared to Mariah Carey. Her vocal skills brought her to the attention of music industry A&R. However most of Wilson's success has been found as a guest vocalist working with dance acts.
With the Freemasons
Wilson provided lead vocals on many tracks on the Freemasons' album, Shakedown. Amanda was first discovered by a couple of producers who pitched a song with her voice to The Freemasons, they didn't feel the track but loved the singer and that was the breakthrough. Her biggest hit was the Freemasons track, "Love On My Mind", which reached number 11 in 2005 on the UK Singles Chart. The song sampled vocals from "This Time Baby" by Jackie Moore, and lyrics from "When The Heartache Is Over" by Tina Turner. Wilson's vocals on the track were electronically lowered in pitch to blend in with the sampled vocals of Jackie Moore.

Danny Fernandes
Danny Fernandes (born September 16, 1985) is a Canadian singer and songwriter. He was signed to CP Records in 2008, CP Records dropped Danny from their label January 2014.
Personal life
Danny Fernandes is of Portuguese descent. He has a younger brother named Jonathan and they are both the younger brothers of Canadian artist Shawn Desman (born Shawn Fernandes). He also is a cousin to another Canadian singer Tyler Medeiros, whose signed to Danny's former record label CP records. Fernandes dated former Girlicious and Girls United singer Nichole Cordova He also has a cousin named Shauna fernandes.
Career
At 16, Danny Fernandes won two consecutive Rising Star awards in the annual CNE dance contest held at Cherrytree Public School located in Brampton, Ontario, near Toronto. He became the youngest member of the Toronto Raptors' famed Dance Pak and began to appear regularly as a backup dancer in music videos.
After graduating from Cherrytree Public School, Danny started playing showcases at clubs in Europe (Germany, Switzerland, and Austria), Fernandes signed with the Canadian CP Records (Capital Prophet Records) and released his debut album Intro. Danny went out on tour across Canada as the opening act for Akon and Sean Kingston.

Of course, what Danny is being excessive with is drugs, sex, misogyny, and basically anything else that one can have too much of. Though it's nothing new to hear someone rapping about this stuff, Danny takes it from a darker angle. The drugs and sex on this album don't really feel all that flashy or commendable. Detroit rapper Danny Brown's latest album functions in extremes. They're not really the angry, voluminous extremes the latest Death Grips album functions on. They're more like extremes of excess. Of course, what Danny is being excessive with is drugs, sex, misogyny, and basically anything else that one can have too much of.
Though it's nothing new to hear someone rapping about this stuff, Danny takes it from a darker angle. The drugs and sex on this album don't really feel all that flashy or commendable. Instead, it's shocking enough to make a listener wanna go Mormon.
The flows are hard, the beats are pretty experimental, and I'm totally down with this guy's outlandish lyricism. Loving it.

This event marks the publication of Professor Lin's new book Against the Consensus: Reflections on the Great Recession. In June 2008, Justin Lin was appointed chief economist of the World Bank, right before the eruption of the worst global financial and economic crisis since the Great Depression. Drawing on experience from his privileged position, Lin offers unique reflections on the cause of the crisis, why it was so serious and widespread, and its likely evolution. Arguing that conventional theories provide inadequate solutions, he proposes new initiatives for achieving global stability and avoiding the recurrence of similar crises in the future. He suggests that the crisis and the global imbalances both originated with the excess liquidity created by US financial deregulation and loose monetary policy, and recommends the creation of a global Marshall Plan and a new supranational global reserve currency.
Justin Lin is professor and honorary dean at the National School of Development at Peking University. He was the senior vice president and chief economist of the World Bank from 2008-2012. Prior to joining the Bank, Professor Lin served for 15 years as founding director and professor of the China Centre for Economic Research (CCER) at Peking University and is the author of 24 books including The Quest for Prosperity: How Developing Economies Can Take Off, New Structural Economics: A Framework for Rethinking Development and Policy, Demystifying the Chinese Economy, Benti and Changwu: Dialogues on Methodology in Economics, and Economic Development and Transition: Thought, Strategy, and Viability.
He is a member of the Standing Committee and vice chairman of the Economic Council, Chinese People's Political Consultation Conference. He was vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce. He served on several national and international committees, leading groups, and councils on development policy, technology, and environment including: Eminent Persons Council of the World Bank, International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) Steering Committee, the UN Millennium Task Force on Hunger; the Eminent Persons Group of the Asian Development Bank; the National Committee on United States-China Relations; the Global Agenda Council on the International Monetary System; Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee; and the Hong Kong-U.S. Business Council. He received honorary doctoral degrees from Universite D'Auvergne, Fordham University, Nottingham University, City University of Hong Kong, London School of Economics, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and is a Corresponding Fellow of the British Academy and a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences for Developing World.

This event marks the publication of Professor Lin's new book Against the Consensus: Reflections on the Great Recession. In June 2008, Justin Lin was appointed chief economist of the World Bank, right before the eruption of the worst global financial and economic crisis since the Great Depression. Drawing on experience from his privileged position, Lin offers unique reflections on the cause of the crisis, why it was so serious and widespread, and its likely evolution. Arguing that conventional theories provide inadequate solutions, he proposes new initiatives for achieving global stability and avoiding the recurrence of similar crises in the future. He suggests that the crisis and the global imbalances both originated with the excess liquidity created by US financial deregulation and loose monetary policy, and recommends the creation of a global Marshall Plan and a new supranational global reserve currency.
Justin Lin is professor and honorary dean at the National School of Development at Peking University. He was the senior vice president and chief economist of the World Bank from 2008-2012. Prior to joining the Bank, Professor Lin served for 15 years as founding director and professor of the China Centre for Economic Research (CCER) at Peking University and is the author of 24 books including The Quest for Prosperity: How Developing Economies Can Take Off, New Structural Economics: A Framework for Rethinking Development and Policy, Demystifying the Chinese Economy, Benti and Changwu: Dialogues on Methodology in Economics, and Economic Development and Transition: Thought, Strategy, and Viability.
He is a member of the Standing Committee and vice chairman of the Economic Council, Chinese People's Political Consultation Conference. He was vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce. He served on several national and international committees, leading groups, and councils on development policy, technology, and environment including: Eminent Persons Council of the World Bank, International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) Steering Committee, the UN Millennium Task Force on Hunger; the Eminent Persons Group of the Asian Development Bank; the National Committee on United States-China Relations; the Global Agenda Council on the International Monetary System; Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee; and the Hong Kong-U.S. Business Council. He received honorary doctoral degrees from Universite D'Auvergne, Fordham University, Nottingham University, City University of Hong Kong, London School of Economics, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and is a Corresponding Fellow of the British Academy and a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences for Developing World.

This 1953 date matched Webster with such peers as alto saxophonist Benny Carter, trumpeter Harry Edison, and pianist Oscar Peterson for a series of elegant yet soulful and exuberant small group dates. With no cut longer than four and a half minutes, the players didn't have time for excess statements or overkill; they had to quickly get to the heart of the matter in their solos, make their points, and return to the head. The original session has been enlarged by the addition of two previously unissued tracks, plus an alternate version of "That's All" that was later issued as a single. Label head Norman Granz excelled in producing swing-oriented, crisply played mainstream dates. Although this date is more than four decades old, Ben Webster's solos have a freshness and vitality that make them quite relevant to contemporary events.
