On February 18th the Pakistani government transferred the management of its deep-sea Gwadar port to a Chinese state-owned company.
This raised concerns with India's Defense Minister that the Chinese regime was developing a military presence in the area.
China's ambassador to Pakistan dismissed this, insisting the move was only for economic purposes. But India's concern highlights China's growing influence in the area, and fear that China could be trying to counter western influences.
[Professor Frank Tian Xie, University of South Carolina, Aiken]:
"China and India are adversaries along the border. In fact, it actively supports Pakistan. China's presence in this region has caused strong vigilance in India. Western countries will continue to observe China's strategic intent."
Pakistan borders India, and the Gwadar port is one of three deep-water ports on the Pakistani coastline. It's not operation yet, but once built, the port could make available to 20% of the world's oil.
China provided around $200 million, or three quarters, of the initial investment to build the port but management of it was given to the Port of Singapore Authority. The Singaporean management failed to develop it according to plan and it has lain dormant since last November.
Now, with China's state-run Overseas Port Holding Company taking over management, it will not only provide Pakistan's cash-strapped government with much needed revenue, but help the Chinese regime establish presence in the region.

Gwadar (Baloch and Urdu: گوادر; Arabic: جوادر) is a port city on the Arabian Sea in the south-west of Pakistan. It is the district capital of Gwadar District in Balochistan province as well as its winter capital.
Gwadar is strategically located at the apex of the Arabian Sea and at the mouth of the Gulf of Oman. The city's strategic, warm-water, deep-sea Gwadar Port was completed in 2007. The port is 14 metres (46 ft) deep and handles the largest cargo ships to Pakistan. The city is emerging as a trade hub and a transit for Chinese oil and timber imports and transshipments. The city has also been taking an increasing role in China's String of Pearls.
Gwadar is one of the few planned cities in Pakistan (others being Faisalabad, Jauharabad, and Islamabad), which have been developed from scratch under an urban master plan. Before development, the town was a fishing village.

Pakistan borders India, and the Gwadar port is one of three deep-water ports on the Pakistani coastline. It's not operation yet, but once built, the port could make available to 20% of the world's oil.
China provided around $200 million, or three quarters, of the initial investment to build the port but management of it was given to the Port of Singapore Authority. The Singaporean management failed to develop it according to plan and it has lain dormant since last November.
Now, with China's state-run Overseas Port Holding Company taking over management, it will not only provide Pakistan's cash-strapped government with much needed revenue, but help the Chinese regime establish presence in the region.

10. Babusar Pass
Babusar Top
Babusar Pass is a mountain pass at the north and the highest point in the Kaghan Valley, connecting it via the Thak Nala with Chilas on the Karakoram Highway. The Valley is at its best during summer. It can be reached by road via the towns of Balakot, Abbottabad and Mansehra. The mountain ranges which enter Mansehra district from Kashmir are the offshoots of the great Himalayan system. In Kaghan valley the mountain system is the highest of the area including the Babusar top. From the middle of July up to the end of September the road beyond Naran is open right up to Babusar Pass.

Breathtaking Tourist Attractions in Pakistan
Located 17 kilometers from Islamabad on top of Margalla Hills, Pir Sohawa is a rapidly developing tourist resort in Pakistan. It’s a popular destination among the residents of Islamabad, as well as the foreign tourists. The scenic place is praised for trips and holiday picnics, it has a 3000 plus ft elevation and located in Monal village which is geographically part of Haripur District.

Hingol National Park is the largest National Park in Pakistan with approximately 1,650 km² in area. It was established in 1988. The park lies on the Makran coast approximately 190 km from Karachi. The Park contains a variety of topographical features and habitats, varying from arid subtropical forest in the north to arid montane in the west. Large areas of the park are covered with drift sand and can be classified as coastal semi desert.
The most important feature of the park is the the highest located mud volcano in the world. Also, the park forms an excellent habitat to wild Sindh Ibex, Afghan Urial and Chinkara Gazelle and a large number of bird species.

If Murree is the Queen of Hills, then Gorakh Hill, in the north of Pakistan, is a lonely, majestic king.
Situated at the height of 5,688 ft in the Kirthar Mountains, 94 km north west of Dadu city, Gorakh is a rising Hill Station of Sindh. Babusar Pass is a mountain pass at the north and the highest point in the Kaghan Valley, connecting it via the Thak Nala with Chilas on the Karakoram Highway. The Valley is at its best during summer. It can be reached by road via the towns of Balakot, Abbottabad and Mansehra. The mountain ranges which enter Mansehra district from Kashmir are the offshoots of the great Himalayan system. In Kaghan valley the mountain system is the highest of the area including the Babusar top. From the middle of July up to the end of September the road beyond Naran is open right up to Babusar Pass.

Hingol National Park is the largest National Park in Pakistan with approximately 1,650 km² in area. It was established in 1988. The park lies on the Makran coast approximately 190 km from Karachi. The Park contains a variety of topographical features and habitats, varying from arid subtropical forest in the north to arid montane in the west. Large areas of the park are covered with drift sand and can be classified as coastal semi desert.
The most important feature of the park is the the highest located mud volcano in the world. Also, the park forms an excellent habitat to wild Sindh Ibex, Afghan Urial and Chinkara Gazelle and a large number of bird species.
