This is Deira City Centre of Dubai. It is one of my favourite shopping malls. It is located very conveniently in the older part of the city on cross road between Sharjah, Bur Dubai and the Airport. It is a popular shopping, entertainment and leisure complex with 2 levels. It has over 1.2 million sq. ft. of retail selling space, with over 300 shops and 6,000 free car-parking spaces. Similar to all of the City Center chains, Deira City Center houses the popular hypermarket Carrefour. It also houses an 11-screen Cinestar Cinemas , Bin Hendi Avenue, 11-storey office tower, Magic Planet (leisure family complex), and the Sofitel City Centre Hotel and Residence. Popular Retail Outlets are Debenhams, Plug-ins, Woolworths, Paris Gallery, and Virgin Megastore, Zara, Massimo Dutti etc.. After several days of heavy rain on already saturated ground, the River Aire (like many rivers in Northern England) broke its banks in several places in Leeds city centre (as well as elsewhere). This film was taken from a walk beginning at 15:40 next to Leeds Railway Station on Princes Square and ending just shortly after 18:20 on East Street (A61). The film features views of the River Aire at full flow and in flood: at Leeds Station Southern Entrance; from Victoria Bridge; from behind Asda House; on Meadow Lane; on Water Lane; at Bridge End; from Leeds Bridge; from Riverside Court; from Centenary Bridge; at Brewery Place; along Dock Street; from behind Oracle; from Crown Point Bridge; along East Street; through Turlow Court; and most dramatically at the junction of East Street (A61) and Marsh Lane. At 11:50 there is a barge which has become wedged under a balcony / walkway, lifting the balcony / walkway above it. This is just under Centenary Bridge, opposite Oracle Bar. **PLEASE NOTE** The last few minutes of the video near East Street have corrupted, they can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzhS-OPAeSk . According to the Environment Agency, the River Aire went on to reach 2.93 metres at Crown Point at 23:30. It's typical height is between 0.53 and 1.35 metres. The LDC approach is designed to foster self-reliance, confidence and responsibility resulting in safer drivers who learn to drive far more quickly and thoroughly. Unlike traditional instruction LDC heavily promotes student centred learning. This involves the student being encouraged to take more responsibility for their own development by using the LD System materials before and after each lesson and by using discovery learning with self determination and reflection rather than being told what to do by the instructor. In particular talk through instruction, prompted practice and long winded explanations are avoided, if at all possible - instead encouraging the student to work it out for themselves.
