In 1985 I directed a documentary on a United Church mission ship travelling the west coast of Canada to Alaska and back. 2 weeks. This journey includes spectacular scenery viewed by very few people. We 4 film crew and camera gear etc, were squashed into a tiny, smelly cabin next to the engine room. Washing facilities for our people and the ship's crew were neglible. (It was also a 'dry' ship). There was no casino on board, but the food was filling. Rae Corelli was host/presenter/writer and had his own cabin. His writing is some of the best from his television days. When we got to the destination in Port Hardy after 10 days at sea, Rae kissed the dock like a visiting Pope. It had been a wonderous shoot but very hard work in lousy conditions. Our crew (except Rae), went to the pub an...

I was shocked because I'm not so tough as tough
as I had thought that I would be
I see that I don't get control (but I know now)
I'll shut you out, wiser, again, no
hope that I will not be bored alone
nothing less than what I think about myself is
what you'll see in me
I know that I'll get full control
I'll shut you out, wiser, again
hope that I will not be bored alone
you, everything you say is true
totally rely on you, I swear I'd give
everything I have to you
totally belong to you, you know
you are nothing more than me
but you mean too much to me
I swear
why do I belong to you
weak as I feel now is what I'll be if I just let it slip away
I see that I get full control (but I know now)
I'll shut you out, wiser, again
hope that I will not be bored alone
you, everything you say is true
totally rely on you, I swear I'd give
everything I have to you
totally belong to you, you know
you are nothing more than me
but you mean too much to me
I swear
why do I belong to you, no
why do I belong to you
if I will get one kiss before you go
and I don't understand and I will never know
'cause I will take this chance to be the strongest again
'cause you, everything you say is true
totally rely on you, I swear
I'd give, everything I have to you
totally belong to you, you know
you are nothing more than me
but you mean too much to me
I swear
I swear
I swear
I swear
