Today decided to take Top of the world Highway to Chicken Alaska, then to Tok and back to the Yukon and crashed at a campground Called Sang ? it was a good day but lots of driving. Even seen some gold mines along the way

Man there are so many things one has to experience on a motorcycle and riding the Top of the World Highway is one of them! Year to year, season to season and day to day the road is known to be different terrain.
We rode our 2 Harley Davidson's and our friend rode their 2 Victory's (all V-twins) the whole way with no issues what so ever! Best thing about the day was the sun was shining because had it rained, we would still be in Dawson City Yukon!!
Are you an experienced rider or an adventurous rider? Or are you both? Do you like riding on unpredictable roads? Are you ok taking your time and enjoying the views?
If you answered yes to any of those questions then you MUST ride the Top of the World Highway.

The Trans-Global Highway is a proposed highway system that would link all continents of Earth except Australia and Antarctica. The highway would network new and existing bridges and tunnels, improving not only ground transportation but also potentially offering a conduit for utility pipelines. It was proposed by Frank X. Didik.
In 1890 William Gilpin first proposed to connect the continents by land via the Cosmopolitan Railway. Significant elements of that proposal, such as the English Channel Tunnel, have been constructed since that era. However, the improvement of the global shipping industry and advent of international air travel has reduced the demand for many intercontinental land connections. Some of the missing links are connected by car ferries.
One of the major components of the proposal is to span the Bering Sea with a bridge or tunnel called the Intercontinental Peace Bridge, the TKM-World Link or the AmerAsian Peace Tunnel. This would link the Cape Prince of Wales, with the Russian Cape Dezhnev. The Bering Strait Tunnel would consist of 3 tunnels connecting Alaska and Russia by going through two islands (the Little Diomede (USA) and Big Diomede (Russia)). The longest single tunnel would be 24 miles (40 km). Since the Bering Sea at the proposed crossing has a maximum known depth of 170 feet (50 m), the tunnels might be dug with conventional tunnel boring machines of the type that was employed in the construction of the Channel Tunnel. The three tunnel proposal is considered to be preferable over a bridge due to severe environmental conditions, especially the inescapable winter ice damage.

Zu sehen sind die letzten Kilometer auf dem Taylor Highway vom Abzweig nach Eagle (Alaska) bis zur Grenze in den Yukon. Weiter geht es auf kanadischer Seite bis zu einer Umleitung. Diese wurde eingerichtet, da die Fräsarbeiten auf den Nordseiten der Berge noch nicht komplett abgeschlossen waren. Teilweise blockierten noch ca. 3 Meter hohe Schneeverwehungen die Strecke. Dieses Jahr öffnete der Highway erst am 22. Mai. -

Yesterday we drove to the Arctic Circle and back, stayed another night in Dawson and drank a few beers. Today decided to take Top of the world Highway to Chicken Alaska, then to Tok and back to the Yukon and crashed at a campground Called Sang ? it was a good day but lots of driving. Even seen some gold mines along the way

Man there are so many things one has to experience on a motorcycle and riding the Top of the World Highway is one of them! Year to year, season to season and day to day the road is known to be different terrain.
We rode our 2 Harley Davidson's and our friend rode their 2 Victory's (all V-twins) the whole way with no issues what so ever! Best thing about the day was the sun was shining because had it rained, we would still be in Dawson City Yukon!!

Dabei handelt es sich um eine 150-200km lange Schotterstraße (die genaue Länge hab ich gerade nicht im Kopf), die landschaftlich einiges zu bieten hat!
