Of very few individual songs can it be said, ‘This changed the course of popular music.’ ‘A Day In The Life’ is one such song.
Recorded in January and February 1967, a large orchestra was assembled for the amazing additional flourishes and fills, although at first the 40 classically trained musicians struggled with the concept of what they were being asked to play.
George Martin and Paul conducted the orchestra and helped to create a finished track that was more than just different, it was utterly unique. Starting from John’s beautiful song, the end result was something simply unbelievable.
As you can see from the film, this was no ordinary recording session. The classical musicians, who had been asked to wear evening dress, took it upon themselves to wear fake noses, funny hats and generally enter into the spirit of the occasion. Filmed between 8pm and 1am with guests including Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, the occasion provided some of the inspiration for what transpired during the recording and filming of ‘All You Need Is Love’ for the Our World project.

I got a nice surprise at the lake this weekend...one of my nephews brought his friend out and he is an Arborist by trade...and what do you know...I have a 60ft Birch tree leaning towards my new roof that I've been meaning to call someone about to take care of it (600$-800$ Job). I'm not sure how he does this job every day 5+ days a week, but we can ALL get a good perspective of what its like to be an Arborist...with a GoPro attached to his helmet as we watch from a safe place. As it turns out, we were lucky to have it cut down when we did... the tree was rotting from the inside about half way up. It wouldn't have taken much for it to snap in a strong wind and land right on the cabin! Now I'm stocked up on firewood for many years.

Nice (/ˈniːs/, French pronunciation: [nis]; Niçard Occitan: Niça [classical norm] or Nissa [nonstandard], Italian: Nizza or Nizza Marittima, Greek: Νίκαια, Latin: Nicaea) is the fifth most populous city in France, after Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Toulouse, and it is the capital of the Alpes Maritimes département. The urban area of Nice extends beyond the administrative city limits, with a population of about 1 million on an area of 721 km2 (278 sq mi). Located in the Côte d'Azur area on the south east coast of France on the Mediterranean Sea, Nice is the second-largest French city on the Mediterranean coast and the second-largest city in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region after Marseille. Nice is about 8 miles (13 km) from the principality of Monaco, and its airport is a gateway to the principality as well.
The city is called Nice la Belle (Nissa La Bella in Niçard), which means Nice the Beautiful, which is also the title of the unofficial anthem of Nice, written by Menica Rondelly in 1912.

A Day in the Life
"A Day in the Life" is the final song on the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album. Credited to Lennon–McCartney, the song comprises distinct sections written independently by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, with orchestral additions. While Lennon's lyrics were inspired by contemporary newspaper articles, McCartney's were reminiscent of his youth. The decisions to link sections of the song with orchestral glissandos and to end the song with a sustained piano chord were made only after the rest of the song had been recorded.
The supposed drug reference in the line "I'd love to turn you on" resulted in the song initially being banned from broadcast by the BBC. Since its original album release, "A Day in the Life" has been released as a B-side, and also on various compilation albums. It has been covered by other artists, and since 2008, by McCartney in his live performances. It was ranked the 28th greatest song of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. On a different list, the magazine ranked it as the greatest Beatles song.

A Day in the Life - Arborist - GoPro (LiveLeak Original)
I got a nice surprise at the lake this weekend...one of my nephews brought his friend out and he is an Arborist by trade...and what do you know...I have a 60ft Birch tree leaning towards my new roof that I've been meaning to call someone about to take care of it (600$-800$ Job). I'm not sure how he does this job every day 5+ days a week, but we can ALL get a good perspective of what its like to be an Arborist...with a GoPro attached to his helmet as we watch from a safe place. As it turns out, we were lucky to have it cut down when we did... the tree was rotting from the inside about half way up. Of very few individual songs can it be said, ‘This changed the course of popular music.’ ‘A Day In The Life’ is one such song.
Recorded in January and February 1967, a large orchestra was assembled for the amazing additional flourishes and fills, although at first the 40 classically trained musicians struggled with the concept of what they were being asked to play.
George Martin and Paul conducted the orchestra and helped to create a finished track that was more than just different, it was utterly unique. Starting from John’s beautiful song, the end result was something simply unbelievable.
As you can see from the film, this was no ordinary recording session. The classical musicians, who had been asked to wear evening dress, took it upon themselves to wear fake noses, funny hats and generally enter into the spirit of the occasion. Filmed between 8pm and 1am with guests including Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, the occasion provided some of the inspiration for what transpired during the recording and filming of ‘All You Need Is Love’ for the Our World project.

I got a nice surprise at the lake this weekend...one of my nephews brought his friend out and he is an Arborist by trade...and what do you know...I have a 60ft ...
I got a nice surprise at the lake this weekend...one of my nephews brought his friend out and he is an Arborist by trade...and what do you know...I have a 60ft Birch tree leaning towards my new roof that I've been meaning to call someone about to take care of it (600$-800$ Job). I'm not sure how he does this job every day 5+ days a week, but we can ALL get a good perspective of what its like to be an Arborist...with a GoPro attached to his helmet as we watch from a safe place. As it turns out, we were lucky to have it cut down when we did... the tree was rotting from the inside about half way up. It wouldn't have taken much for it to snap in a strong wind and land right on the cabin! Now I'm stocked up on firewood for many years.

Nice is the Côte d'Azur's fascinating and colorful city located on the curve of Angel Bay, a metropolis that has lost little of its turn of the century charm. It is also a place of contrast with all the pulsating life of an international city mixed with the rich Mediterranean flair of the south.
The magnificent Promenade Des Anglais was named after the resort's former large contingent of English visitors and was built during the 19th century.
The historical centre of the city, Vielle Ville, has become the home of Arabian immigrants, thus couscous features prominently on the menu. The old fish market is the most beautiful on the entire Côte d'Azur and its traditional displays of seafood are a feast to the eye.
The Russian Tsars also spent much time in Nice and around 1900, a Russian Orthodox Church was built. With its six eye-catching onion-shaped domes, it was designed by the Russian architect, Preobrajensky, and is the most beautiful example of its kind in the western hemisphere. The foundations of the building were designed in the shape of a Greek crucifix and the interior features a remarkable collection of Russian icons.
A good way to visit numerous places of interest is by taking a journey on a small sightseeing train known as the Azur Express.
Just outside Nice, there are some remarkable Roman ruins and a villa on the excavated site contains the Matisse Museum that features each of the famous artist's sculptures.

Actually we like Nice much more than Paris. Monaco, meh... we are not too sure yet. It may take another couple of trips.

UEFA Euro 2016 the Allianz Riviera stadium will be known as the Stade de Nice for the UEFA competition. The stadium is one of the venues for the UEFA Euro 2016 event and is scheduled to host the following soccer matches:

17 June 2016 - 2100 Spain v Turkey (Group D)
22 June 2016 - 2100 Sweden v Belgium (Group E)

The multi-use stadium in Nice, France is used mostly for soccer matches of host team OGC Nice and also for occasional home matches of rugby union club Toulon. The stadium has a capacity of 35,624 people but it is capable of accommodating up to 45,000 spectators for concerts, operas and large-scale shows. The stadium's opening was on 22 September 2013. The stadium also houses the Musee National de Sport a collection of greatest sporting exploits from each era displayed through an innovative and immersive indoor display. See the football used in the World Cup 1998 final, Marcel Cerdan's gloves, Jean-Claude Killy's skis, Yannick Noah's racket and the Olympic torches. The exhibition includes atmospheric sound installations, film projections and interactive challenges included an F1 car to test your driving skills.
Getting to Nice
Nice airport, the gateway to the Cote d'Azur, is the second busiest in France after Paris in terms of traffic.
High-speed and express trains (TGV and Corail) connect Nice and the Cote d'Azur to the rest of France and major European cities. The TGV Méditerranée completes the journey from Paris to Nice in approx. 5 hours 30 minutes, arriving in the heart of Nice. The city has three railway stations, from west to east: Saint-Agustin, Nice Ville and Riquier.
The port, overlooked by Château de Nice, is France's second busiest destination for cruise ships. Ferries also connect Nice to Corsica.

It’s hard to overestimate the Commander-in-chief’s role in the country: his likeness adorns the streets and squares in every city and village. Through official portraits and statues, he is, literally, everywhere and kindergarten children are taught to sing his praises. Locals adore Kim Jong-un and consider him the Father of the Nation, he encourages everyone to be patriotic and surpass all other nations.
Almost 15% of North Korea’s GDP is reserved for military spending, and long after the Korean War of the 1950s, the country has still not signed a peace treaty with its capitalist southern neighbor. As a result, thousands of families were torn apart by the political divide. The army remains a source of inspiration; it determinates the social structure and stimulates ordinary people to devote their lives to work in the faithful service of the Marshal. The people believe that this military ideology consolidates national spirit and guarantees stability and order.
However, not even tough military methods and an ideological barrier around the country can solve the economic lag or the enormous social and economic gulf between South and North Korea. Self-reliance and self-sufficiency are in stark contrast to the economic reality. Despite developments in labour cooperation, a demilitarized zone, demarcated by a huge wall between the two states, is still amongst the most heavily armed areas in the world.
President of the Korean Friendship Association, Alejandro Cao de Benos explains that due to the generally accepted ideology of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the people will never understand nor accept a western mind-set. From childhood, they are taught to be loyal to their leader and to beware of western values.
For most viewers North Korea remains a mystery but this unique film offers a limited window of opportunity to view Korean lifestyle through the prism of North Korean peoples’ every day cares and joys. RT Doc meets ordinary workers and soldiers to hear first hand, how they lived before being isolated from the whole world.
