In part 2,
Mark Suster and I talk in greater detail about his experience with
Adult ADD. The book he mentions is:
Delivered From Distraction by
John Ratey.
Mark didn't find out he had
ADD until he was 40 years old, but felt like everything in his life made more sense after finding out. We talk about medication and his experience with Adderall. When he chooses to use it and when he relies on his other tips and tricks to get him through. Mark works very hard to make sure his sleep and diet are in line to help him better manage his symptoms. When those things fail, Adderall helps him push through long meetings or depositions and maintain focus.
He also talks about how ADD does have a genetic component, and that he has urges his siblings to get their own children tested.
The most important part of this interview is to know that you are not alone, and having ADD does not mean you cannot be successful and do what you want with life.
It's more about you understanding ADD and how you can better manage your symptoms. The more we know and the more we share about ADD, the less stigma there will be associated with it. So please share and talk to a professional if you feel that this is something you struggle with.
The book that Mark mentioned is titled
Delivered from Distraction and is available here:
