How durable is the New iPhone SE? Did Apple skimp on materials to make this budget 4 inch device? It seems to be an exact imitation of the iPhone 5. Lets give it the ol' JerryRigEverything durability test.
First we will start with the scratch test, making sure we hit the screen, the aluminum back, and the camera lens. After that we will burn the display and see if the IPS panel can recover from the extreme heat. Then we can try bending it.

So many new smart phones! Its hard to decide what to buy. Its my turn to test the LG G5 for quality and durability. I start by scratching the phone screen to see how easy it gets scratched. Then I check out the body of the phone. The LG G5 is made of plastic, so the body does not feel as premium as an iPhone or a Samsung... and the cost is pretty much the same.
I burn the screen, as well as do a bend test to see if the phone will be reliable in the long term.

LG G5 Complete Teardown - Screen Replacement - Charging port fix
If you break the screen on your LGG5 smart phone, it is actually pretty simple to disassemble and replace. There is no glue or sealed parts that need special tools to remove. A few simple pry tools, and a small tool kit like this one will do the trick: http://amzn.to/1TmYapJ If your charging port breaks, you probably will be able to just buy a replacement module, (that clips into the phone), but seeing how the charger interacts with the phone is always fun. There seems to be an issue with the build quality of this phone. Its hard to claim 'metal phone' when it looks and feels like plastic. Its even harder to claim 'metal phone' when the top millimeter of material IS plastic. I personally think the price point for this phone is pretty high as of the launch... but LG drops their pr... -

I can see how this might be confusing, so I'll do my best to explain. The parts of the video where I replace the cam and crank sensors was shot just after Jerry picked up the car in early December 2015. The part where I replace the control arm and air tube were shot in late March 2016. I realize this may be a bit confusing, but I wanted the series to end after the final video. If you break the screen on your LGG5 smart phone, it is actually pretty simple to disassemble and replace. There is no glue or sealed parts that need special tools to remove.
A few simple pry tools, and a small tool kit like this one will do the trick: http://amzn.to/1TmYapJ
If your charging port breaks, you probably will be able to just buy a replacement module, (that clips into the phone), but seeing how the charger interacts with the phone is always fun.
There seems to be an issue with the build quality of this phone. Its hard to claim 'metal phone' when it looks and feels like plastic. Its even harder to claim 'metal phone' when the top millimeter of material IS plastic.
I personally think the price point for this phone is pretty high as of the launch... but LG drops their price pretty quick, and pretty fast on all their other smart phones soon after launch. I imagine that will be the case with this phone too.

I personally think the price point for this phone is pretty high as of the launch... but LG drops their price pretty quick, and pretty fast on all their other smart phones soon after launch. I imagine that will be the case with this phone too.

I can see how this might be confusing, so I'll do my best to explain. The parts of the video where I replace the cam and crank sensors was shot just after Jerry picked up the car in early December 2015. The part where I replace the control arm and air tube were shot in late March 2016.
I realize this may be a bit confusing, but I wanted the series to end after the final video. I didn't want to have to come back with another video AFTER the final video which will air next week. This way the series concludes with the next episode.

Switch Panel Base, with switch & fuse
Switch Panel Bases are made of hard plastic and are designed to fit into small and medium size boats. Switches on these panels include Led lights to indicate that the electrical devices on your boat are receiving electricity. The switches are covered with a plastic, waterproof cover to protect them from UV radiation, water and salt. Fuse holders on the panels (31392) hold 6,3A fuses and have a maximum loading of 10A. The fuses are made of polymer PTC, which stops electricity-flows in case of a short circuit. Switch panel bases are combined with the frames 70579-70587 to meet your needs for 3, 6 or 9 switches on the central panel of your boat. Switch panels are supplied with functional labels, which indicate the type of device that each switch controls. Switch panel bases are available in white, grey and black.

Switch panel frames are made of hard plastic and are combined with base units 70576-70578. Switch Panel Bases are made of hard plastic and are designed to fit into small and medium size boats. Switches on these panels include Led lights to indicate that the electrical devices on your boat are receiving electricity. The switches are covered with a plastic, waterproof cover to protect them from UV radiation, water and salt. Fuse holders on the panels (31392) hold 6,3A fuses and have a maximum loading of 10A. The fuses are made of polymer PTC, which stops electricity-flows in case of a short circuit. Switch panel bases are combined with the frames 70579-70587 to meet your needs for 3, 6 or 9 switches on the central panel of your boat. Switch panels are supplied with functional labels, which indicate the type of device that each switch controls. Switch panel bases are available in white, grey and black.
Switch Panel Frame
Switch panel frames are made of hard plastic and are combined with base units 70576-70578. These frames hold one (70579-70581), two (70582-70584) or three (70585-70587) switch panels which gives you the option to have three six or nine switches in line. Switch panels are available in white, grey and black.
