The Nation: Sakha-Yakut People's Fight for Freedom and Independence
The Sakha-Yakuts are giving their lives in the war against Ukraine for the imperial ambitions of the Kremlin. They seem to have completely forgotten how Muscovites used to kill their ancestors and take over their lands.
After that, the survivors were made to forget their own history and traditions, organizing repressions. Nowadays, harsh Putin's mobilization is more like the extermination of the Sakha-Yakut people.
But this time, the Kremlin might have miscalculated. Are the Sakha-Yakuts ready to stand for their independence? Has the liberation struggle actually started yet? What was the reaction to Putin's mobilization in Yakutia? What is the true story of the so-called 'entry' of the people into the Russian Federation, and how is Moscow using up the natural resources of Yakutia? Why ...

How We Celebrate Summer in World’s Coldest City: Yhyakh Festival
During the summer, the temperature in Yakutia rises from -70 to +35°C. So, every year, during the summer solstice, Yakut people are celebrating “Yhyakh festival, the rebirth of nature after the long freeze which symbolizes another start to the year. This Yhyakh festival is held in an enormous glade and Yakutian sacred site, not far from Yakutsk. The celebrations blend dancing, concerts, sports and picnicking with time-honored religious rituals. And Traditional music and pop ballads blare from sound stages.

Have they managed to preserve their culture and customs? When and how the Sakha-Yakut people will get freedom? Watch all this in the new episode of 'The Nation' program.

During the summer, the temperature in Yakutia rises from -70 to +35°C. So, every year, during the summer solstice, Yakut people are celebrating “Yhyakh festival, the rebirth of nature after the long freeze which symbolizes another start to the year.
