Beckham was frustrated early when he dropped a clear touchdown after getting behind Norman. There have been numerous incidents since. On this running play, Beckham went after Norman, who olé-d him, and then while Norman was getting in on the tackle, Beckham came in leading with his helmet into Norman’s helmet. He should have been ejected. I imagine he will be facing a hefty fine, considering we see fines for far less intentional helmet hits by defenders reacting in an instant. This was a player going after someone while not controlling their emotions, and delivering a headshot. Both players got penalized for this. Norman, one of the top cornerbacks in the league, had strong words for Beckham Jr. following Carolina’s 38-35 win on Sunday against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. “He’s going be out here dancing around, prancing around like he’s a ballerina … " Norman said. "That goes to show you the type of player he is. The maturity level on him is just [like] a little kid.” It appeared as if Norman took Beckham Jr.’s pregame warm-ups – which are often nearly as entertaining as his in-game performances – to heart, calling out the Giants' star for his antics. Shortly after the game started, Beckham Jr. beat Norman on a deep route, but dropped the sure touchdown, stunning the crowd and setting the tone for the rest of the half. “He did lose his composure,” Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said. “People do drop time to time drop a ball, even people who have his ability. I’ll talk to him in private and I’m not going to discuss it anymore.” After the initial drop, Norman played physical against Beckham, holding him to zero catches on two targets in the first half. It was the first time in Beckham's NFL career that he was held without a reception in the first half.
