2 States: The Story of My Marriage is a 2009 novel written by Chetan Bhagat. It is the story about a couple coming from two different states in India, who face hardships in convincing their parents for approval of their marriage. The novel is a fiction, but is said to be inspired from the real story of the author and his wife Anusha who are from Delhi and Tamil Nadu, respectively. This is the second Chetan Bhagat book based largely on his life, with the other being his first book 'Five Point Somenone'. He wrote this novel after quitting his job at an investment bank. This is his fourth book after Five point someone, One night at call center, The Three Mistakes of My Life.
Partly autobiographical, the story is about Krish and Ananya who hail from two different states of India, are deeply in love and want to get married.
State commonly refers to either the present condition of a system or entity, or to a governed entity (such as a country) or sub-entity (such as a province or region).
Have you ever felt like this
Like every time you swing, you miss?
If good things come to those who wait,
But a dollar short and a day too late
So I'll pack up my heart and run,
Cause I'm afraid of what we'll become,
And I feel I need some time from everyone.
You're like the perfect day in May,
But I watched you walk away,
And I didn't catch your name.
But if you pass back through the door,
I'll be the one you've waited for,
The one you will adore.
So what do I have to lose?
Say "hello" and make my move.
We'll leave town and drive all night,
If we're together everything's alright.
Well I'll pack up my heart and run,
Cause I'm afraid of what we'll become,
And I feel I need some time from everyone.
You're like the perfect day in May,
But I watched you walk away,
And I didn't catch your name.
But if you pass back through the door,
I'll be the one you've waited for,
The one you will adore.
Maybe this is good-bye.
Baby please don't cry.
It'll be alright.
Well if I had the courage to say hello,
We'd be on our way I know,
But I'm on my way alone (on my way, on my way alone!)
You're like the perfect day in May,
But I watched you walk away,
And I didn't catch your name (You walked away).
But if you pass back through the door,
I'll be the one you've waited for,
The one you will adore.
