We sometimes also perform with electronics and other objects to expand our sonic palette. We don’t like to exist in our own little bubble and therefore regularly collaborate with other musicians, artists and performers who share our passion for trying new ideas.
Our music is somewhat difficult to categorise as we exist in a blurred grey area between a number of different styles. To get a better understanding of what we do you can check out our website but, to give you a bit of an idea, our music has been described as contemporary, experimental, quirky, thought-provoking, crazy, unpopular, “like Miles Davis”, weird, ugly, bad and a number of other colourful adjectives.
As collaborative partners, we have worked together for seven years as halfsound as well as in other ensembles. We have many common interests and our shared artistic vision has resulted in a long-term, satisfying artistic partnership. We were both classically-trained and have enjoyed our gradual transition from the traditional to the unconventional. We also both share an interest in learning more about art and life around the world and travel regularly to perform, collaborate, meet with like-minded people and eat. Recently, we undertook an extended tour of nine countries in South-East Asia where we had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of people and share our music with new audiences. We are constantly looking for new places and communities to discover so, if you like what we do, please get in touch with us from wherever you are in the world - we’d love to hear from you!
