As Augusto Pinochet holds Chile in the grip of dictatorship, a fifty year old man obsessed with John Travolta's character from Saturday Night Fever imitates his idol each weekend in a small bar on the outskirts of Santiago. Each weekend, Raúl Peralta and his friends a devoted group of dancers gather in a small bar and act out their favorite scenes from the film. Raúl longs to become a showbiz superstar, and when the national television announces a Tony Manero impersonating contest it seems like he may finally have a shot at living his dreams. But as Raúl is driven to commit a series of crimes and thefts in order to reproduce his matinee idols persona, his dancing partners (also underground resistance fighters who rail against the regime) are persecuted by the secret police.

"Night Fever" is a disco song, written and performed by the Bee Gees. Recorded April 1977 in Château d'Hérouville, France and 1977 September Criteria Studios, Miami, Florida, United States. Released 7 February 1978. It first appeared on the soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever. Producer Robert Stigwood wanted to call the film Saturday Night, but singer Robin Gibb expressed hesitation at the title. Stigwood liked the title Night Fever, but was wary of marketing a movie with that name. He combined the two suggestions and the idea for Saturday Night Fever as a motion picture was born. Starring: Tony Manero (John Travolta), Stephanie Mangano (Karen Lynn Gorney), Anette (Donna Pescow), Double J (Paul Pape). "Night Fever" remained the number one Billboard Hot 100 single for over two months in 1978. It also replaced Andy Gibb's "Love Is Thicker Than Water" at number one, and was in turn replaced by Yvonne Elliman's "If I Can't Have You" all of which were written and produced by the Gibb brothers. In addition to Saturday Night Fever, the song has also appeared in the movie and on the soundtrack for Mystery Men. The song lists at number 33 on Billboard's All Time Top 100.

Anthony T. Manero (April 4, 1905 – October 22, 1989) was an American golfer. He won eight times on the PGA Tour including one major championship, the 1936 U.S. Open. He played on the 1937 Ryder Cup team. He was born in New York, New York and died in Greenwich, Connecticut. Manero was originally spelled Mainiero. The letter i is sometimes removed for easier spelling.[citation needed]

The Bee Gees were a musical group founded in 1958. The group's line-up consisted of brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. The trio were successful for most of their decades of recording music, but they had two distinct periods of exceptional success: as a pop act in the late 1960s/early 1970s, and as prominent performers of the disco music era in the late 1970s.
The group sang three-part tight harmonies that were instantly recognisable; Robin's clear vibrato lead was a hallmark of their earlier hits, while Barry's R&B falsetto became their signature sound during the late 1970s and 1980s. The brothers wrote all of their own hits, as well as writing and producing several major hits for other artists.
Born in the Isle of Man to English parents, the Gibb brothers lived their first few years in Chorlton, Manchester, England, then moved in the late 1950s to Redcliffe, Queensland, Australia, where they began their musical careers. After achieving their first chart success in Australia with "Spicks and Specks" (their 12th single), they returned to the United Kingdom in January 1967 where producer Robert Stigwood began promoting them to a worldwide audience.

John Joseph Travolta (born February 18, 1954) is an American actor, dancer, and singer. Travolta first became known in the 1970s, after appearing on the television series Welcome Back, Kotter and starring in the box office successes Saturday Night Fever and Grease. Travolta's acting career declined in the early 1980s and continued to deteriorate for the rest of the decade. His career enjoyed a resurgence in the 1990s with his role in Pulp Fiction, and he has since continued starring in Hollywood films, including Face/Off, Ladder 49, and Wild Hogs. Travolta was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor for Saturday Night Fever and Pulp Fiction. He won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for his performance in Get Shorty.
Travolta, the youngest of six children, was born and raised in Englewood, New Jersey, an inner-ring suburb of New York City. His father, Salvatore Travolta (November 1912 – May 1995), was a semi-professional American football player turned tire salesman and partner in a tire company. His mother, Helen Cecilia (née Burke, January 1912 – December 1978), was an actress and singer who had appeared in The Sunshine Sisters, a radio vocal group, and acted and directed before becoming a high school drama and English teacher. His siblings, Joey, Ellen, Ann, Margaret, and Sam Travolta, have all acted. His father was a second-generation Italian American and his mother was Irish American; he grew up in an Irish-American neighborhood and has said that his household was predominantly Irish in culture. He was raised Roman Catholic, but converted to Scientology in 1975.

Each weekend, Raúl Peralta and his friends a devoted group of dancers gather in a small bar and act out their favorite scenes from the film. I won a bottle of Champagne in 1996 in the Ballroom of the Wintergardens Theatre in Blackpool (UK) performing the best Saturday Night Fever dance routine.This revamped footage of my Strictly Dance Fever audition reflects the choreographically advanced and re-released Saturday Night Fever 1978 (cert.PG), which includes headshots showing structural facial similarities. Ben Richards (as Tony Manero) very oddly posed centre stage to reflect the original symbolic Stayin' Alive dance spectacle with his left hand open, thus losing Tony Manero's machismo not to mention his athleticism in the Musical Saturday Night Fever (see online iconic image).
Arlene Phillips OBE speaking during an interview for a Channel 4 television documentary about John Travolta`s TV & film career especially Saturday Night Fever, she said "My Favourite dance technique is the one with the pelvic thrusts and the horizontal right arm beacuse that is Tony Manero through and through". Look out for the CLOSE-UP of my demonstration in this video. Ben Richards(ex Tony Manero/ex judge) failed to appreciate(during my audition)Deney Terrio's symbolic and spectacular choreographic 1978 Stayin' Alive revamp and he continues to dispute the existence of the (teenagers) version of the film. The disappointingly rough dance surface precluded my demonstrating the notable (Cossack styled) "Knee Drops" technique to the judges. Ben omitted this from his solo dance routine on the ultra smooth surfaced stage at The London Palladium.

The captioned iconic & symbolic Saturday Night Fever image in this video shows a frame of Karen Lynn Gorney (following their dance duet) clapping rhythmically, and John Travolta dancing spectacularly (during the 3rd chorus) to the song Stayin`Alive while looking at the camera to be completely mesmerising, as directed by John Badham. The advanced choreography made John a global icon & accentuated his white suit. The R-rated version contained profanity, nudity, a fight sequence, and a multiple rape scene in a car, all of which were de-emphasized or removed from the PG version.
I won a bottle of Champagne in 1996 in the Ballroom of the Wintergardens Theatre in Blackpool (UK) performing the best Saturday Night Fever dance routine.This revamped footage of my Strictly Dance Fever audition reflects the choreographically advanced and re-released Saturday Night Fever 1978 (cert.PG), which includes headshots showing structural facial similarities. Ben Richards (as Tony Manero) very oddly posed centre stage to reflect the original symbolic Stayin' Alive dance spectacle with his left hand open, thus losing Tony Manero's machismo not to mention his athleticism in the Musical Saturday Night Fever (see online iconic image).
Arlene Phillips OBE speaking during an interview for a Channel 4 television documentary about John Travolta`s TV & film career especially Saturday Night Fever, she said "My Favourite dance technique is the one with the pelvic thrusts and the horizontal right arm beacuse that is Tony Manero through and through". Look out for the CLOSE-UP of my demonstration in this video. Ben Richards(ex Tony Manero/ex judge) failed to appreciate(during my audition)Deney Terrio's symbolic and spectacular choreographic 1978 Stayin' Alive revamp and he continues to dispute the existence of the (teenagers) version of the film. The disappointingly rough dance surface precluded my demonstrating the notable (Cossack styled) "Knee Drops" technique to the judges. Ben omitted this from his solo dance routine on the ultra smooth surfaced stage at The London Palladium.
